My income is late again and I am on the phone for the 6th hour today waiting with the same hold music from the other day that made me sleep for 24 hours with a migraine... like this one. Please return my missing income from last year as I have not recovered any from the fraud payee that has been closed permanently under the care of Carolyn Housman and CA Senior Adult Services Don Myers who couldn't understand I fired him for so many years before all the pains expressed through every neglected call with SSI before I was evicted from them defaulting and caused me to lose all of my property, home, family, supplies, tools, clothing, artwork, all promised to be recovered by SDPD and property who also hung up on me with my disability that needs acomodation sometimes even costing me 50% of my paychecks to get assistance when I am well. SSI leaves me less than $300 a month after my humiliating rent amount of $1000 at the very top of what I will sacrifice for a roof over my head after 100% of my money has been on rent and trying to recover lost tools and supplies. I still need towels, heat as reaquired by CA LAW in a rental- I can't afford with default and forcing me to continue reporting SSI left me in my car screaming for help and getting hung up on... sick and unable to reach them by my car that I lived in until I lost it with my rights to have a safety plan and for care at the hospital of my choice or not. I lost my rights to protect myself and have been slandered I have been harassed by CRF workers and they have been reported to SDPD and APS when I stayed at their abusive non accommodating crisis home for health care vs hospitalization against me trying to walk again and recover after so many years stuck in a gas leak and with CPTSD from being raped by someone I cant seem to get arrested with companies who make me look so bad such as the reports of me screaming about the poor care I have never been forced to continue to encounter until Don Myers closed actor of El Cajon PD. I need help with recovering money from this month and still on hold. I hung up after a few hours on hold the first time and the other time almost an hour and half. Now I am still on hold for almost 2 Hours and they are rude and have called me Pet names at window 3 needing help suing and recovering payment for my personal charges as soon as follow up as requested in many calls since and closing of my witness as my payee shortly after as he was a Captain in the Marines and also heard the PET NAME or SEXUAL HARRASSING OF UNWANTED NAME CALLING and Sexualizing me calling me MAM countless times as I just needed help and placement. My rent was due on the 1st and you have neglected to pay my income on time I have set up direct deposit several times before you were forcing me again into the abusive company of your office and waiting room eyeballing experience. Wtf Nobody has been helping! I have called the whole month and not one person has made the effort to actually help get this small issue resolved. I literally have proof that I have called multiple times a day everyday throughout the whole month and yes, I'm calling the correct number. Sometimes when I call it allows for a callback which either way is pointless because the useless workers never stay on the line. I called at 3:55pm hoping that someone would answer my call before closing time of 4:00pm, a girl answered and assisted me with my issue in 5 mins after all ID verification and despite knowing the time constraint. Excellent customer service, people willing to help and very courteous representative at this El Cajon office. After calling all day from 9am to 3:45pm the Chula Vista field office which no one ever answered and being on Hold for an average of 1hr on each call, my last call at 3:45 pm was disconnected. This was the reason why I decided to call the El Cajon Field office, what a difference, better service!! read more

Called the 1-800 number to make an appt and after being on hold for 1.5 hours hung up and decided to just go in person. Went today and arrived at 1:30 pm. Stood in the outside line for 30 mins then finally was allowed in. Stood in the inside line for another 30 mins until I was finally called to Window 1. Checked in and then sat for TWO hours until I was called to Window 9. The employee got my info and then scheduled my phone interview for May. Took all of two mins to do this. Why couldn't the clerk at Window 1 have done this? Of the 17 windows only two or three were open and even they sat without any customers for quite a while. read more

The employees behind the desk are helpful & do their best to get you in and out except the security guards, they treat the elders extremely rude and act entitled to do so. One lady told the security guard it was cold and asked if she could wait inside and he told her "nobody told you to come outside" just extremely rude for no reason and should get a different job if they can't handle something as simple as watching the front door. Not a great experience - for what I needed I can't use my SS account's online services. I am required to make an appointment to start receiving my benefits. After calling on the phone a few times and waiting on hold for hours each time (and being cut off once), I tried the walk in approach. Very concerning on many levels. I feel for the people that really need help and have no one to help them. I assisted an elderly family member and came here to get some help but instead I witnessed a hostile tall heavy set security guard banging on the glass door to let a guy that doesn't speak English know to move forward and come in. Then the front desk person that checks you in doesn't listen and made several mistakes with us. The security guard needs to respect others, he's not above anyone. The phone wait is insane, representatives are rude, make mistakes, lie and need better training. This place gave me racist, prejudice, no empathy, no respect vibes. I really feel for the individuals that get screwed over by these people that don't care, your just another number, another paperwork to them. I believe they can destroy your life and leave you homeless and cause stress and anguish due to their lack of professionalism. My wife came by here to start her name change process. She told me that everyone was so pleasant from the security guard to the people working here. The entire process took about 20 minutes, although she did print out and fill the paperwork out ahead of time. There wasn't a lot of people here when we went. I'd recommend coming here for any social security needs that you need to do in person. I highly suggest trying to find the paperwork online and filling it out ahead of time. This office is only for SS cards. (new/replacement/corrections/name changes.) Came here to change my name on a Thursday afternoon at about 230p and was out in less than 20 minutes. You walk in, go to the automated kiosk immediately to your right and get a number. The security guard is SUPER nice and makes sure everyone has a number or is here for the right reason so you don't waste your time. He even speaks a little (broken) espanol! The lady that helped me was nice, no attitude here girlfriennnnd! I wonder if Meta World Peace waited at a SS office... read more

Great experience! I was in and out in 20 minutes flat. I timed it. I got there 15 minutes early and found there were 20 people already in line, not a big deal. The doors opened 3 minutes before 9 to set up information and flyers. At 9 the doors opened they were letting people in. Social distancing and face masks are still being honored at this location. If you don't have a mask they will provide one. I waited in line 7 minutes after the doors opened, I was given a ticket, headed to the open window, answered a few questions and was called shortly after. The staff was very nice, helpful and efficient. The facilities updated, clean and orderly. I went in to change my last name and it was the easiest process ever. I didn't actually need to go in person however the Chula Vista office gave me bad directions on how to apply. The office was organized, clean the person helping me professional and all business . I came here for a name change last Friday. After seeing the horrible reviews from the Social Security downtown, I decided to make the drive out to El Cajon in hopes that the process would be easier and faster. Prior to going to the office, I knew what documents I needed: marriage certificate, ID, name change form, etc. So I had everything ready to go. Let's be real- a trip to the Social Security office is never "fun" or "enjoyable", but I honestly couldn't have had a better experience with this office. I got to the office at about 8:45 AM and there were two people ahead of me, which wasn't bad at all. Once the office opened, an employee gives you a ticket, much like the process at the DMV, and you wait to be called up. I waited about 2 minutes, got up to the window, did my name change, and was out by 9:15! I basically took the whole day off for no reason, thinking I was going to be waiting all day at the social security office. Anyways, the employees were friendly, the office is clean, and if you get there when they open up- the process is fast! read more

I tried to do my taxes the other day and my Efile was rejected due to a discrepancy of my date of birth. The Social Security Office had me listed as July 11th instead of June 11th. I had to make a trip down here with my birth certificate and ID to update my records. This morning I went down. The office is easy enough to find right off Johnson. Huge parking lot. I walked in and you have to kind of check in and grab a number. I grabbed my number and sat down. Interesting mix of people in there. Lots of old folks, and lots of white trash. Thats El Cajon for you I guess. Anyways......had to wait about 30 minutes before I was called. I think they take appointments and I would recommend making one. It will probably save you some time. My number got called and I walked up to this desk. Turns out once your number is called, they find out what you need and officially check you in. You then go sit back down and wait. I only waited like 5 more minutes until a nice lady called my name. Simple process. Gave her my birth certificate and ID and she updated the records. She said it would take a few weeks to get updated and she also hooked me up with a new social security card which she will send me in the mail. I haven't had a SS card in quite some time so its nice they give that to you for free. Interesting tidbit about that.....on the paperwork they give you, it states that they will only send you a replacement card 10 times in your lifetime, and no more than 3 in one year. Who the F loses their card more than twice in a year or more than 9 times in their life? If you lose it that often, you don't deserve to be in the system or to collect any kinds of benefits. Ha! Besides the wait and the strange people all around, the people that worked there were really nice and got me what I needed so they are A-OK in my book. read more

I walked in, checked in at the kiosk, sat down (it was 11:20), I was called, she took my marriage certificate for name change and my ticket, asked a couple of questions, then handed me my receipt. I walked out, (it was 11:24). Yes! You read that correctly, FOUR FREAKIN MINUTES! In and out! Maybe 5 minutes if you count checking in at the kiosk. LOVED the speedy service. When I walked in, the security guard asked me what I was getting done, I let him know, he told me which button to choose on the kiosk. There was one person being helped, and I was the only other person in there waiting. Definitely worth the drive from imperial beach. My husband and I went to eat lunch at the Red Robin in Bonita afterward, we waited longer to be noticed by a waiter there, than our whole experience at the social security office. We came here to get my new SS card after getting married. Arrived twenty minutes before opening, ended up being second in line, and got in and out of there within five minutes of opening. The security guard and employee that helped us were both very friendly and willing to help. My tip would be to just go early and wait. Yes, you're waiting either way so it doesn't necessarily "save time", but at least you're not sitting in a sweaty waiting room hoping to be cattle called up to the window behind the dozen people ahead of you. We (my wife and I) needed to have someone review our Medicare data and change our payments to part B. We arrived at 2:30PM without an appointment. We were seated with a claims person before 3PM. She was friendly, understanding and very helpful. We completed the necessary paperwork and were home before 3:30. This place is awesome. Everything works in medlow pace, no rush, no slow. People are so nice, friendly, and helpful. They really spend time and give advice for you on how to get your paper work done. When you walk in to a situation you know nothing about and you are unsure of laws, rules and regulations, and if that isn't enough, you are transferred by phone or in person to several people, it's incredibly refreshing to be helped by this knowledgable young man named IDIN. IDIN made me feel at ease, he had a smile on his face from the time he got me from the waiting room until we were done. He truly loves helping people and loves what he does and he says so. I have had BAD experiences with this place & a COUPLE of good ones. This LAST time, I had to drop off a Marriage certificate. The young man that helped me was very good, took care of everything. BUT the usual took over after that. This placed has messed up so many things & I had ONE horrible, snotty, pure mean young woman that was supposed to help me with my disability. I believe her last name was LIPTON? SHE was SO rude! When I asked her what paperwork and things I needed to update my case because I was supposed to get an increase. I was unable to work (though I had previously always worked 2 jobs to support myself & son), I had been stricken with a neuroimmune illness that made me VERY sick & weak, I had lost so much weight I was under 100 lbs & could barely function. She called me lazy, and said she didn't care if If I had no place to live ( she said it isn't her problem), she told me she wouldn't help me get food assistance and hung up on me. broom rider ! NOW I was supposed to get my documents back that I had dropped off and they were to mail them back to me. A week ago I received an EXPRESS envelope that was to contain my paperwork. It had a cover letter with my name & all the information about my paperwork being sent back to me. BUT ONE HUGE THING WRONG. the cover letter had my name & info & was fine, but when I looked at the document, IT BELONGED TO ANOTHER WOMAN who lived in the same are I live in. She had the same first name as me but that was all. IT IS A DEATH CERTIFICATE FOR HER HUSBAND WITH ALL THEIR PERSONAL INFORMATION ! SS #s & all. I have been trying to call them for an entire week. They keep putting me on hold, then hanging up on me, disconnecting me while on hold, telling me waiting time is 15 min, so I wait & then suddenly dead air &after 5 more minutes a disconnect. Twice I got a recording that said they were busy & it hung up NO internet site to contact them about this lady's death certificate( an original govt document) that she will need for other things. I cant' just go there & drop it off because you have to have an appt & you have to actually have a call got thru to get one!! THE WORST. read more
