I just met with Mrs Perez and the service from the moment I entered the parking lot, made it pass security check point was a smooth transition. I had a appointment. That made it easier. Excellence service from beginning to end. Thank you team Smiley read more

Very unorganized, unprofessional, slow and inconsiderate! These people will not work with you but instead, at you and work on their own timing! They always want to make sure those Status Report forms are filled out correctly, forcing you to be a brainiac in math and not everyone is good at math! You would have to have someone who's good at math to do the calculations and rounding off to help! These people are something else, UGH!! read more

Sick bureaucrats "work" like robots here. They will strive to destroy your life, if on Social Security. SSA sends everyone mounds of papers, full of false figures as per how they calculate your income, made up numbers, and lies, by appointees like, in my case Kang. Language they use is threatening, especially by De Leon agent, who is asking about very personal and private information, breaking decency and security rules of the State of California. I waited in line for an hour just o make an appointment. I needed to replace my social security card. I went and waited in the waiting area and when I was called I was immediately told to give my ID he kept it for a few and then said you need to make an appointment and you can't do anything without one. I asked what do I need at the appointment and the employee said your ID. Then I said you have it right there so can't you do it now. He said you can't do anything without an appointment. The cherry on top was that I paid $13 for parking just to make an appointment that took an hour. They need to put up signs saying if you don't have an appointment then don't bother. read more

This office is one of the most fast moving government offices I have been to also very clean and the service is great. Best time to arrive between 8-10am your wait won't be longer than 30 minutes so it's excellent. This is definitely my to go for any social security administrations. I highly recommend this office to anyone. read more

Absolutely terrible to talk to. I have been dealing with identity that for months now and there is someone out there with my social Security number because they issued two: one to me in one to some other guy. They said they don't handle it freezing your account completely and stop being electronic applications and things like that. Even though the sheet I printed from the website literally says that verbatim. What exactly does a Social Security administration do besides print pieces of paper with nine digit numbers on them? because I'm not really sure. I have had cars and business loans, personal loans, 77 credit cards and I have two credit reports from every Bureau with two different names on them. What other information do I need to get support and help from what has been happening to me? read more

During the pandemic the majority of the employees worked probably from home since offices are still mostly closed. All drop offs need to be scheduled, only 2 people are allowed inside at the time for scheduled urgent appointments. When I arrived a few weeks ago, the security man was friendly and explained the procedure during the pandemic. I called the office number and could speak with "a real person," and not just an automated message. That in itself was already a relief! The gentleman who helped me over the phone was friendly and helpful. A second time when I called it was the same; helpful, efficient and friendly. My appointment a few days later was equally as good. There are always many complaints about government offices for whatever the reason may be. This was a good experience with great employees. Thank you for an outstanding experience to help me with my issue. And a big compliment to both security officers at the entrance who are doing their job, but it's done in a friendly and pleasant way. And we all know that's not always the case so I thought it's deserved to write a few words of praise. read more

There's this idiot an Asian man probably Chinese or Korean at the window 4 who refuse to help me. He was no help whatsoever. Rude and arrogant. I don't understand how these idiots got this government job. I truly don't understand. They like to hire morons. That Asian man absolutely delusional. First of all you don't tell an upset mother to calm down. No wonder he is single and not married. He will be single for the rest of his life. read more

I gave up after 20 minutes on hold. You could die waiting for a chance to get info regarding your benefits.

I called the 800-772-1213 number & received the Customer Service Rep. Ms.Perry. She was so nasty, mean & unempathetic. I called in inquiring about my benefits and she was very short..Not only was she short with me but she was loud & yelling. I tried to explain to her that I wanted clarity on a letter they hust mailed to me & she basically ridiculed me for not knowing the date on the letter. I know that in the norm, they have a record of what they seend & when they send it. She kept cutting me off with asking me is there anything else. I hung up feeling horrible. It is bad enough that I am fighting for my life but to call an agency that deals with your medical insurance & income and be yreated so coldly is just down right heartless. read more

After receiving a letter from SSA stating I owed a great deal of money on past due Medicare premiums going back 11 years. Because I had documentation of payments I turned to the local office for help. It was almost too much trouble for someone to refer to me to the correct form. When I found the form confusing I asked for help and when none was forthcoming I used a private consultant. I believe the only reason I received any response from them was a call made from Karen Bass's office, which the manager told me I didn't need to do again. Because of the call my appeal was escalated and sent to a central office. The result of the review-not only do I not owe thousands of dollars but am due a refund. I was lucky. I had documentation and was able to hire a consultant. Be safe snd keep good records/documentation forever. read more

I personally think SSA should give higher benefits to recipients whether they're disabled or retired. It shouldn't matter whether they're disabled or retired because the benefit amounts should be equal anyway. They really need to raise the benefit amount for recipients because of personal predicaments and necessities. Personally, I hold SSA responsible for my personal predicament, and for the predicament of others. To those on Social Security, God bless you and I hope things get better. I also think recipients regardless of disability or retirement age deserve to work without their Social Security benefits being affected at all. We deserve to have a higher amount. I personally recommend $5000 a month for single people, and $10,000 for married couples. Might be an unrealistic amount, but I'm just thinking about the people, and that amount would be helpful. I also find it unacceptable that SNAP benefits become reduced due to increased Social Security benefits. Increased Social Security benefits should affect SNAP benefits at all. read more

Maybe I got lucky. I was here about 30 minutes total to update some information. The lady was super sweet and made sure she spelled my name correctly and everything. I was dreading going here thinking it would be like the dmv but I was in and out. I went mid day on Monday maybe that helps. read more

Today was our first visit to the Social Security office to straighten out some records. We thought with rainy weather the crowd would be light but the place was packed. We arrived around 11 A.M. took a number and waited our turn. The wait was long, about 2 1/2 hours but once called in, the gentleman who helped us by the name of Song was so helpful and friendly. He didn't rush us and not only straightened out some of the information on my husband's record but also provided us with a lot of useful information and guidance about Social Security. A group next to us was also receiving the same kind of thorough guidance from another employee in the office. I just want to commend his work and knowing how government agencies can be feel the treatment we received was first class. Just remember how understaffed many of the government offices are now and be patient. read more

I was requesting a benefit award letter behalf of my resident, who was with me while I was conducting her recertification interview. I called behalf of her; I have waited for the Korean translator so that I can pass my phone to my resident to answer to the necessary questions. She, as an elder, was having a difficult time to say her address. I was helping her next to her because she said one word and then suffered - there was a moment of silence to move to the next word. The representative said she had to end this call because the person next to her is answering instead. Because the phone was on the speaker, I said, "I was not answering for her. I was helping, I was having her say the correct answer." And she said back in an upset tone, "Do you understand you are calling to the social security office?" What the heck! I said, "Do you understand I am conducting a recertification at a section 8 housing for the senior citizens?" The social security administration is to help people, to serve people, not to BE BOASTFUL that she works there. I don't know what kind of education she had, but I am very certain I've got higher education. But that's not the point. It's not important how much you have educated. The point is that I do not appreciate that attitude. I do not know how she can help other people with that kind attitude. She literally disconnected the call. She said to the interpreter that she would disconnect the call. And the interpreter translated that exactly in Korean. And then she hung up the phone on the client. read more

Very pleasantly surprised. First time having to visit a social security office and was expecting it to be something like a DMV visit. The security guards were very friendly and professional. The building was clean and well air conditioned with plenty of seating. I only had to wait a few minutes and the lady who helped us ( didn't catch her name but she was petite with long black hair) was so friendly. read more

Overall terrible office, terrible service, terrible attitude from the individuals working there and inefficiency to the max. I went to this office to apply for a social security card since I m interning LA from another country. I was told by my visa provider that all I needed was my passport and visa documents. I had friends in Bay Area and NYC who also applied and all they needed was their passport and visa documents. I waited 2.5 hours and I was told that I needed the birth certificate as my primary ID, but when asked how long it would take to mail I said I didn t know maybe 7 days. The lady behind the counter told me to go back and get my birth certificate within and come back, if I couldn t get it by then they could use my passport for the ID. This was some SSA policy. I explained to her that the 7 days was an estimate I wasn t sure since I ve never mailed anything from Canada to the US and I wasn t comfortable mailing such personal information because it could have gotten lost. She then seemed angered and said it was my problem I didn t know how long it would take to ship something from Canada to the US. I was very angry and I sent a complaint online and it went directly to the manager at that office. She called me and apologized but kept saying it was policy and that the people working at that office were reminded to treat customers with respect and kept making excuses for the way they treated me. That doesn t do anything. The office is terrible and I hope something actually gets done like firing the staff and getting more compasionate and competent people. read more

I came here the other day after work arrived around 4:10 to realize they only work for 3 hours on Wednesday? It was unbelievable and can't understand why. They obviously don't give a crap about people's needs and they are just simply lazy. 9-3 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and on Wednesdays 9-12. Sounds like a joke right? SIMPLY LAZY. read more
