Last month, I went in to get replacement copies of social security cards for my children. The ladies at the first window told me what I needed. I went home to obtain the only medical records I have-shot records. Back again, the ladies said the shot records would be fine. Then I wait for my turn at the second window. The guy at the window said my shot records for the girls were not good enough because they didn't have a stamp. However, they did have the official seal and location of the office. I was at the pediatrician today to update their shots, and I was shown that they had official stamps, which look just like the last shot records. According to the paper of appropriate paperwork, the shot records I had was sufficient. If they turn me away again tomorrow, I will be speaking with management. read more

OK, this is as weird for me as it is for you. Giving a 5 star rating to a federal/government office. You're thinking what I was thinking. There's no way a place like this could get even a good rating much less 5 stars because we are both expecting it to be like the DMV. But this is based on TWO separate visits. 1st visit... there was an interesting snag in that while waiting in the line, the security guard came by and gave some poor lady static about having a sippy cup or something for her infant. Now, there is a sign that says No Outside Food or Drink. I get that, I totally do. But there's the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. We're not talking about some drunk or some idiot eating popcorn or cheetos and throwing kernals on the ground. This was a mother and her little child (under 2 yrs of age) with a sippy cup and kid sized bags of crackers. Well of course, the lady went nuts (and can't say I blame her as I've exploded for a lot, lot less). The guard went and got the office manager who eventually asked the lady to leave. That was unfortunate. That aside, my father passed away and nothing like this ever happened to me before. So I was totally lost going in. I went there with my mother and when we got our turn to speak to the person behind the window, the person was very tender and kind. She helped us a great deal instead of giving us a number and telling us to go sit and wait. An amazing, amazing human being. I was really surprised. We were in there for about 20 minutes which included the line to speak to the very first person. I thought I'd be in there for anywhere between 2 to 4 hours and thought it would be the only thing I got done that day. 2nd visit... We had to come back to drop off the official death certificate. No drama this time but it was jam packed like the DMV. When we got to the window, there was a different person we spoke to but nonetheless as amazing as the first person. Very kind, very compassionate, very professional, very understanding, very helpful. Because we came before and had everything ready to go, we were able to process our paperwork very quickly. Again another trip in far less than an hour despite the massive crowd. I was really not expecting this from government paid workers. Especially in the City of Sin. Despite all the horrible and gruesome things happening to people (hurricane in Houston and Puerto Rico, how ridiculously hard and expensive life/food is, Saran gas in Syria, dying children of starvation in Yemen, border violence by cartels, and then there's Trump, etc.), it's deeply relieving to see the greatness and kindness of humanity in the places you'd least likely expect to see it. read more

I came here to get my son's social because he is 10 months old and I don't know what they did at the hospital with his information but it didn't get sent through, so I finally go up to this office the line was long but it did move fast, I get to the window and let them know I need a social for my son, and for myself because mine was in bad shape, they proceeded to take my one and only social and throw it away , got all my son's information and told me both my card and my son's card would arrive in a week, 1 week goes by I've checked my mail everyday of the week nothing was in my mailbox I call them , someone tells me it'll take 3 weeks, I call someone again and they tell me it was sent out, so not only did I wait for an entire month I never received my cards, I call them and they tell me my only option is to go back to the office, this is a huge inconvenience I have taxes to file, and I need both social security cards , if I could give 0 stars I would, people don't care about important documents they just tell you anything to get you out of the office. I will take further action if I do not receive my cards after this 2 time of coming to this place read more

HORRIBLE INCOMPETENT RUDE UNHELPFUL that is the best way to describe the experience and people working in this office I have been to this office at least 7+ times in the last few years for "help" with my SSI / SSDI application process I have received NO help, experienced condescending rude nasty workers, incompetence, no level of privacy, and am subjected when going there to the horror of the process again and again, yet can never get anywhere, have been denied twice even though I am clearly disabled and have had multiple doctors say so, they send me a list of my 12 diagnoses and say "under our guidelines you are not disabled and can do some type of work" AN ATTORNEY IS NEXT FOR ME - CLEARLY THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET THE BENEFITS YOU DESERVE so we as citizens of this "great country" must be FORCED to give up 25-30% of the benefits due us to some obnoxious attorney whose sole purpose is to make money - NOT help you - money you desperately need - that is sadly how this system works Agree with all other posters - security guard is abusive and a joke, not sure how he is employed at this government job, but he thinks his job is to berate you if you don't or can't walk to the window when you are called fast enough, not enforce the "no cell phone" rule that is clearly posted yet everyone is constantly on their phones, and definitely NOT act as a "security guard" he is rude and unprofessional - REPLACE HIM (white male, 60s) NO privacy - you approach the window and say your SS# out loud, they do not hear you, and you need to repeat it, therefore sacrificing your privacy of the only # you should ever keep solely to yourself and not share with others, yet anyone in line that day is privy to your information and they will have your SS# name and DOB - really, REALLY stupid Surely there has to be a more modern system, like requiring you to enter your SS# on a keypad then hand them your ID to prove and identify that this is you, revealing nothing to the line or waiting room The workers DO NOT CARE and ARE COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT I went there to change my address 3x and it was STILL not changed, how is this possible I'll tell you how, people not doing their simple jobs I call the 800# because I am too sick to go to the office, and magically, all of the information I have called and given them has disappeared or was never entered in the system? I am a lawyer and I had a client who needed a replacement card. I took his application and documents into the Social Security office in Henderson. After much discussion, my client's application was turned down even though it complied with the law 100%! On the same day, I took the same application and documents to the Social Security office on Buffalo. It was approved by Liz in station #13 without any discussion. Liz acted in accordance with the law. I can't thank Liz enough. I recommend her to anyone who needs a replacement card. I filed a complaint with the appropriate Social Security authorities on the person who failed to approve the application in Henderson. The authorities advised me that the employee was disciplined. I WILL NEVER GO TO THE OFFICE IN HENDERSON AGAIN. IN MY OPINION THE OFFICE IS TOTALLY MISMANAGED. If you need a replacement card go to Buffalo and ask for Liz. read more

I came in here about 3 months ago to change my name. According to their website, my new social security card should have been delivered in 2 weeks. Three weeks go by and I haven't received anything, so I call. First of all, you have to sit on the phone all day until someone answers. Most of the time it will end up hanging up on you because they are too busy. After 3 days of trying to get through to someone, I finally get through and the lady tells me that something is wrong with my application, but she doesn't know what's wrong. She told me that she would email a supervisor and they should email me in a week, if not then call. Two weeks go by and no email, so again it took me 3 days to get through to a person. This person told me a trainee processed my application but never issued a new card. Fine. So now I'm supposed to get it in a week. 1.5 weeks go by, I was able to call and get through this time, and they told me that it takes 2 weeks and that person was wrong. Another week goes by, no card, so I call again and they say to re-apply online. I attempt to re-apply but because my ID and social now have two different names, it won't process. So now I have to submit another application in person, and I had to change my DMV appointment that are months out because of their incompetency. I'm not sure if I'll submit my application to the Henderson location, I may have to drive to the Buffalo location this time since they seem to be better. This is so frustrating and this entire office needs better management. read more

I was prepared for the absolute worst experience today...per the usual when dealing with any government office. Coming here was a total surprise. I'm literally still in complete shock. I read the reviews for this location and prepared myself for at least an hour wait. I guess it depends exactly what you're coming to the office for. I got here today (Friday) at 11am to get a replacement social security card. There was no line outside the door, which I've experienced at other locations earlier in the morning. There were quite a few people sitting waiting for service but the check in line ran fairly smooth. Took all of 2-3 min to get checked in. I requested a replacement card and provided my passport. I was expecting to fill out paperwork and receive a number and wait to be called. Instead the very nice gentlemen at the check in station completed everything right there. He confirmed my address, said my card would be received in a week and I was out the door as quickly as I went in. It took all of 5 min. I will definitely come back to this location if I need anything SS related. Pleasant visit. Pleasant people. read more

So I take 2 hours of vacation today to go get a replacement social security card. I chose the Henderson office. When I arrived at 115 pm the line to check-in was out the door. It was over 100 degrees out but you really have no choice but to wait. I waited 10 minutes outside and 20 minutes in-side before checking in. When I was outside in line I did ask the security guard if everyone had to wait and check-in. He replied yes. So I waited. When I got to the window I told the guy that I just needed to get a new social security card. He asked me for my SS# and I asked him if I just needed my birth certificate and drivers license. He told me just my license and also told me he would check to see where I was in-line. He than looked and gave me a number on a post-it note and told me there was nobody before me for what I needed and that I would be called immediately at window 9. I went and stood next to window 9. Out of mere manners I didn't approach the window ( nobody was at the window) as I was told my number would be called. I'm waiting about 10 minutes and I see 2 younger women walk-in and I over hear them ask an employee ( Mr Malone? The Regional Manager of the Henderson NV office) where she goes to get a new social security card. She does not wait in the check in line that everyone else had waited in. He by-passes that for and walks her to window 9. I'm standing right there. She speaks to the employee at window 9 and explains that she just got married and needed a new card. I couldn't hear what the employee says to her but she took her birth certificate out of a folder and handed it thru the window. So now I'm agitated. Mr. Malone the Regional Manager was right next to me as he had hand delivered this lady to the window. I say to him " excuse me, why didn't she have to check in and wait like everyone else? I have been here for 40 minutes and was told I would be called next to window 9." He has no explanation to this. No apology but says to me that I need to stop talking and stop complaining or he would kick me out. I was FLABBERGASTED! I tell him that I'm not going to quit talking and that I'm not leaving. He needed to tell me why we all have to wait and he walks that lady to a window in-front if all of us. He than tells me to leave. I tell him that I'm not leaving and he can arrest me if he wants. He tells me he isn't going to arrest me but that I would sit here till close and not be helped. At this time I pull my phone out and start recording and he lunged for my phone and tells me it's a federal building and I cannot take pics or video. I tell him I want his superior's name. He tells me there is NOBODY above him. He is it. Interesting. So I took 2 hours of vacation and waited over 40 minutes and have no right to question his behavior of walking people to windows ahead of everyone. Please keep in mind I wasn't raising my voice. Thus is by far the worst case of customer service I have ever encountered. It will be my mission to find out who this power hungry middle manager reports to. read more

Yes, the line was very long but that was pretty much expected. Do they need to consider opening a few more windows during busy times? Yes, that would help! But best of all, the customer service was great. The person that assisted me was helpful and had a positive attitude. She did NOT act like it was killing her to be there. Unlike the local DMV. Haha! I also had the opportunity to watch an elderly gentleman standing in front of me in line ask the employee at the main check-in a question. He said he was getting calls from social security and they were telling him on the calls that he owed money and it had to be paid right away. Clearly these were scam calls but the elderly gentleman was unaware of that and was very nervous and concerned. The employee at check-in took time and wonderful patience with the customer and reiterated to him in a very kind and courteous manner that he should ignore these scam calls. I was greatly impressed by this employee. He could have easily become annoyed as the gentleman repeated his concerns several times but the employee never once acted unprofessionally or impatient! Great job! So overall- Just be patient with waiting for your turn in line! Otherwise, this was a very good experience and I thank them for that! read more

Went to this location to register for Social Security. Three hours before we were out the door. Got home and had a call from the woman that helped us and she informed us that she did the paperwork wrong. She said we should pay this incorrect amount ($200 too much per month) until Social Security catches it, and sends me a refund. WOW.....she must have a lot more money than I do. The thing she did wrong, was something we brought to her attention three times while we were there. She kept insisting that she was right and we were wrong. My wife and I have been there three times the first time we were there about 1 and a half hours, the next two times it was about 45 minutes each time. The first time we had a very rude woman who wasn't very helpful at all. The next time we had a real nice lady but she did not follow through on what we were there for. The security guard was very gracious and went through the line of about 15 people letting them know that if they needed certain services they should not waste time in line but should go to another office. If I could give zero stars I would. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I think I have a relatively simple problem to resolve but the people I've dealt with have not given me appropriate, correct information. I checked out website, called the 800 number for assistance and was given incorrect information, sent a letter explaining my problem and again received wrong information via a letter. The final insult occurred when I went to the office on Eastern Ave. (as per instructions from employee at 800 number) and was thrown out by the "guard". I went to the office as instructed and was told by some Asian person that my issue could not be resolved at the office. I tried to explain but she had an attitude and just wasn't listening. I will admit I was angry and and my behavior was not the best but she was rude and nasty too. She finally asked for my SS# and I asked her why; she again asked for my number and I gave it to her. Next thing I knew she was telling me to leave. I asked her why and she refused to explain. She finally called the guard who told me I was trespassing on federal property. He kept on asking me to leave and finally threatened to call Metro. I told him to go ahead but then I backed down. He must have told me "have a good day" 15 times. What a bunch of BS. It was a terrible experience. How can a civil servant treat citizens like criminals? When you work with the public you will occasionally have difficult customers; as a professional you should be able to diffuse a situation. Not so at this office. I wrote to every federal official that may have something to do with the SSA and I hope this office gets some type of disciplinary action. Also, I asked Asian person her name and she refused to give it. The guard had a badge with his name but he was just doing his job. This is a perfect example of government inefficiency and totally oblivious, uncaring employees. After having read the reviews the majority were very bad and in my opinion, justly so. Don't go to this office if you can avoid it; go to office on Buffalo. It may take a little longer to get there but in the end you'll have less aggravation. read more

The office is in a nice location and it is a clean office BUT obviously poorly managed. I have been on several occasions for reasons cc taxes and I have never felt so low and treated so poorly and RUDE. If you ever go to this office and deal with a Mr. Williams ( happens to be black, and I am not a racist but I believe he is) I can only advise you to avoid him at any cost. He will not only talk down to you or be rude to you and not allow you to speak to his supervisor when you feel you need to complain or confirm something but he will make it tough on you to get anywhere in the system. This person in my opinion should have been fired many years ago as I have witnessed him being rude to many others. There is no supervisor watching over their employees and there is no reason for it. While you can not always to get the answers you desire, there should never be a time when you feel low and disrespected with customer service from a government entity, never forget they work for us. I believe that poor customer service always funnels down so perhaps it is management but do avoid this person as he will assist you in only a negative way so he can feel like GOD. I hope you sir have a horrible day as the way I see you treat me as well as so many others. You should be terminated. My opinion, my experience. I didn't like the long wait, but there was a wonderful lady Helen who worked at window number 1. She was extremely knowledgeable and very kind. She went out of her way to help me. I was very fortunate to get her. I had previously read the reviews prior to going, I was anxious about the wait. Sick Sadistic Bureaucratic Clowns run this place. The "security guard" plays with his "smart phone" and is not very aware but packs a .45. Not very smart haha...I'd fire him, incompetent. One man was with his grandad trying to get help filling out forms due to inability from a seizure disorder, denied assistance. Another man on oxygen was having a difficult time with another SSA worker just to get copies of a few medical records to submit and was told "we don't make copies" right after he copied something. He told the SSA man "If you can't do your job then find a new job." My 90 year old mother was denied my assistance to help her understand and hear and is hearing and physically impaired. My sister was denied my assistance and is also disabled. I was told to sit down and was denied my right to help my family understand and go through a process that we pay for through taxation. They used repeated threats of calling the security guard on myself and others that were there for help. One SSA woman was talking about my sister, making snotty derogatory untrue statements within her presence. When I confronted her, she demanded I leave the room and I did so and said "I am writing you up", pointing to the woman and walked out. There was no provisions or concerns for people which are disabled and there were many there including my family. The wait time was 1.5 hours in the first line. Total time was about 3 hours. 10416 Eastern Ave Henderson NV SS Office - Neoma Flores was great. She was cold but professional. Kept to script to make sure [I hope] everything was done right and covered. I felt comfortable after having her help me. Final test will be in 30 days when I am to get the approval letter. SS 800-772-1213 call center was the WORST! 1st two days of calling it kept telling me - I can do it on line - and - they were busy and then would hang up!!!! 3rd day it told me to leave a number and they would call back - that worked well, but it took hours before I finally got a call back from Raymond. Raymond on 09-29 in SS call center needs to be REPRIMANDED if not worse!!!. I asked if copies were OK and was told YES. I had 100% + info with me, but not all originals. Mrs Flores took my full application and then said she would hold it till I got originals. Had to go home and return and stand in line to finish Medicare. Extra 2 hours and 30 miles. NO REASON why he could not have told me to bring originals. Waiting area crowded and uncomfortable seating for people with hip replacements. Security guard worked on his cell, pretty well worthless. In 2012 Social Security meeting in Littleton CO met in a cubicle, here we met in hall way in front of a glass divider - very limited privacy - totally unacceptable for this type of interaction with so much personal information. Could see lots of empty cubicles in office where staff worked when not sitting behind window dealing with public. NO REASON why security guard could not do security on people and then allow them to deal with people in cubicles since I think this is totally a safety issue. read more

I went to write a review after the excellent service I received and thought I would read the other reviews...I wonder if they went to a different office or just like to complain....bottom line I was in and out in a reasonable time and everyone from security guard to the service rep was super helpful and very nice to me (and everyone else that I saw while I was there). It's Social Security so obviously expectations on customer service is already low to begin with but during my recent visit to this office, the customer service I experienced was beyond contempt. I usually don't like pointing fingers cause I think it's unfair but I feel that it's important to be specific or else my experience would fall on deaf ears. Beware not to get the customer service representative that speaks with a Spanish like accent, she was continuously condescending and belittling to the point I had to summon a supervisor since the miscommunication got so bad that I couldn't communicate with this person on a intelligent level. You would think that people employed here would have some type of customer service qualification or have a social service background that requires a certain level of compassionate and sympathetic demeanor since their position requires everyday contact with people, I honestly don't know how this particular Social Security person I had the unfortunate luck of transacting with at this office gets hired here, it is so blatantly obvious that this line of work is not suited for this female representative.
