The girl that was a black woman that worked on window 6 was so unprofessional and was so rude . Totally unacceptable. At 11:30 I handed her my numberx560 and said do u have appt . I said no I've been here for 2 hours and took a number . She said you need an appt. I was never told . I said you all just need my routing number and her response was it's in the system. I said I rec this letter stating it wasn't in system . Please verify I'm all set and you have everything. Her response was I told you 3 times . I've had numerous issues with SS as nothing is done correctly. She closed her window as was right away a black woman hating on a white woman . That should never happen as she was targeting me as a white woman. She hated me as soon as I sat in front of her. She was looking me up and down . How horrible to pick on a white woman. Discrimination all the way with this person . She needs to be written up. Disappointing she couldn't be understanding and listen to the issues. read more

Rather than hiring 47,000 new IRS agents, perhaps Biden should have hired more (qualified) SS Agents to help us. I can't get an answer to a question regarding when exactly they recalculate benefits due to my work history. I have worked 51 years and have paid in. Just trying to get the benefits that I have paid for. No one at SSA can seem to tell me when exactly it's calculated and how I can see that amount separate from the annual COLA. Not rocket surgery, here. You would think they'd know this. Answer can not be found on the SSA website or on the web. read more

A lot of people today, Tuesday Aug 13 10:30 AM. There's a lot of windows but only 2 are working. I wonder what happened to the rest of the windows or employees. I normally go to the one on Buffalo but this one was closer to my house. It is smaller. It opens at 9 and there was already a line outside but that's normal for social security offices. This was on a Tuesday too. I went inside and spoke with the receptionist and got my ticket at 955. They have the option to text you so you can wait outside or in your car if you don't want to sit inside. I waited in my car and at 11:16 I received a text to go to my designated window. I was at the window by 11:18 and the worker behind the window was already besides herself that I had taken so long. She was rolling her eyes and just like omg I already called someone else. She's like um did you leave the property, at this point I hadn't said anything but I was like I can get another ticket if it's a problem. But she got herself together and helped me. It's a shame that these people as workers don't have more compassion towards people who are going there for help. I couldn't get what I needed completed but I did get some questions answered and will be more prepared for my next visit, main thing wait inside and don't do text because they will act like you were 10 minutes late. Always arrive early.Good luck going there. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I arrived 30 minutes prior to opening and the line was already long and out the door. I waited 45 minute once doors opened to get up to front lobby to see a hand written sign that says no cards here, must go to South Buffalo location. Maybe, just maybe, they should put that out by front door so as to not waste people's time. Totally ridiculous. ***no social security cards cards issued here*** read more

0 Stars should be an option, I went in to help my grandpa who does not speak English very well fill out some forms, and immediately at the window we were attended by a young man who was obscenely rude and unhelpful. Zero stars if you ask me. Got here when facility opened. There is no signs where anyone should be standing or what line they should be in. A lot of frail people. After standing in line for over an hour, the security guard states what lines everyone should be in. Which we all lost our spot. Just terrible customer service. The security guard is very short and lacking compassion for those who have been out here in the sun for 2 hours. Wouldn't be surprised anyone having good things to say about this place. Now I've been here for over 2 hours. All I need is a change name. I wonder if the staff or the state reads these comments. read more

WRONG! not only did they spell my name incorrectly but they didn't even change my name. I spend hours in here waiting for me to receive it all messed up. When I called I was told I have to go in. I come in and I have to now wait for hours to been seen. No compensation nothing. I asked to be seen immediately because this is my only day off and YOU GUYS messed up. I read the reviews for the three Social Security offices and I was not impressed by any of them. I had just spent 8 days trying to do what I needed to do on line with much frustration and tears and no results. I had to go to one of the offices so I just randomly picked the Henderson office. I got there 45 minutes before it opened and there was already a line. For over an hour I had to stand in the sun with the temperature already being 100 degrees. I might add here that I am almost 75 years old. Then thanks to Marcos, the security guard, everything changed. He brought out a pop-up and several umbrellas. Marcos was efficient and caring. He kept an eye on the inside of the office and moved people up into the shade as soon as possible. Once inside it moved quickly. In fact the wonderful woman receptionist was able to get me exactly what I needed. It was a great experience. Thank you Henderson Social Security Office. read more

I recently moved to Las Vegas and to get a drivers license, I need a copy of my SS card. You cannot do this online so the main number said I need to go to the office. We called the number to find out what we needed to do and could not reach a human. We went to the office in Henderson an hour before they opened to wait in line. When they opened they told everyone to go home and call to make an appointment. I told them that no one takes calls and they told me I was wrong. I went home to call and make the appointment as instructed. The phone number directs you to give the number of the person you want to speak to or the last name. If you have neither it hangs up. So my question is.. how do I get an appointment? Does anyone know? I will not mail my original documents to them. This is incredible that you are not able to find a way to get a copy of a Social Security card. read more

This is probably the most incompetent, inefficient bunch of people to deal with. I have tried to get my child's lost social security card replaced. Over a six month period, they have written me twice just to say what I have is inefficient. Being in a pandemic, does not allow you to use that as an excuse to get back to people after two months time. I had to go to a higher authority and what do you know? I got in done swiftly. It's sad that I couldn't get this accomplished locally. If it is a government document we need, we need it done in the shortest amount of time. What a disgrace to the community! Literally , the most incompetent , unprofessional and worst public office I have ever dealt with Lead by Kenneth Hodges , this office does not comply with the laws and guidelines set forth by our Government 2 Grueling and stressful years I have been working with this office on my issue. They have lost paperwork, not returned phone calls, lied, made broken promises, made unethical decisions and have been simply unapologetic for their actions. There is NO checks and balances and the District Manager, Kennth Hodges refuses to give me anyone above him to appeal to. He is smug, arrogant, has no soul or care for the people he serves in this office If anyone can help me get to the right people to show them what is being done in this office , I would greatly appreciate it! My suggestion.... if u need anything from an Ssi office, Make the drive to California. These offices conduct business on time, by the laws set forth and most of , with respect and care for those they service. I am organizing a peaceful protest on this office. I went to this office on Tuesday. Many people in line which is a normal occurrence. I got in line @ 11am. The lines moving very slowly which also is normal. However, found out that with social distencing still in effect. Only 15 people allowed in waiting room. After approximately waiting 2 hours in line, (under the sun). A representative came outside & asked how long we have been waiting. The people in front of the line told her, "since 10 am." She was surprised to hear this. They brought out another "shade tent" for the other line & took names on a list to have people crowd together under the tents. When finally got inside. Only 4-5 windows open & no one was in the "check in" window. This made the situation worse because they were calling numbers to the windows but never gave most of the people a number. I got sunburned waiting in line. But felt worse for the elderly & disabled people having to endure. I also went last week & got there right before they opened. Waited for 1 hour & line never moved once they opened the doors. Plus it the temperature was hotter last week. They need to look into this & make changes quickly before someone has a medical emergency in line! read more

It's a nice enough office in a nice enough area of Henderson. Went for the first time. I had tried to set up an account online and hit a slight snag that prevented my online account. Was told to come in. Line wasn't too long and I checked in quickly and only had to be seated for a moment before being called to a window. The young woman was very nice and I liked her. She requested my email address and then gave me paperwork with instructions on how to complete my online account. The paperwork included a SSA website address that was slightly different from the one you can access online. I thought everything was good until the following day. The young woman made a mistake on my email address in their computer and it again prevented me from setting up an online account. When I called this office, I was told I would have to come back in. Just for an email address? Yes. I was VERY upset. The thought of driving back down there and waiting in line ruined my morning. I don't want to reveal everything about myself, but this is to warn people who might also do what I did. Make sure you write down your social security number, email address, etc. on a piece of your own paper. Let the clerk copy it exactly. Then take it back from him or her. She did not repeat my email address back to me to make certain it was correct. They already know that if they get it wrong in their system, you will have to go back to their office to correct the error. The website she told me to access would not allow me to correct it. The wrong email address that she wrote down was already in the email address field. Here is what I believe: They are losing money. Everything is going online and paperless. This was no innocent mistake. I've heard it from someone else too. I believe the workers are doing things to make people come in to their office so that they have a reason to be there. If they don't get enough visitors to keep them busy, they are out of a job. I ended up bypassing the instruction sheet the woman gave me. I went back to the SSA homepage online and created my new account there. With the snag taken care of when I went to this office, I was able to do everything I needed with no problems. I only set up an account online to get my Social Security Statement. read more

Zero stars. This place is a disgrace. I've been calling for the last 2 weeks, everyday, all hours of the day. NO ONE ANSWERS. The line just keeps putting you on hold listening to music forever. Then finally rings and an automated message comes on saying they are "sorry for the delay, we will try to connect you.." then rings constantly and hangs up on you. Such a waste of time. All I'm trying to do is make an appointment to change my name after getting married. That's all. They should make it possible for us to make an appointment online so we don't have to waste our time calling and never getting through to anyone. I've called the general Social Security # as well as the Las Vegas office and got through easily but both places said I have to call Henderson office and I explained that no one answers but they just say they "can't do anything on their end". Such BS. I guess you have to take a chance on putting your original documents in an envelope and dropping them off and hoping you will see them again. Also, going without a license/birth certificate/marriage certificate for however long it takes for these people to mail them back to you. Unbelievable! read more

This gentleman I spoke to over the phone today to request help was the absolute worst person I've ever spoken to in my life. How awful that he felt the need to berate someone for asking for help and constantly speaking down to me for not wanting to drop off documents (I.e. DL, medical records, Birth Certificate) that will then be mailed back. I let him know that I wasn't comfortable with that option and requested to speak to someone else. He then followed the response with " why? So someone can give you the wrong answer or so they can hold your hand like a baby?" What a horrible person. This is so awful that you have a person that is this terrible working there and feeling as if they have any right to speak to someone asking for help. I made an attempt to ask for help from another person and he refused. This office location is disgraceful for allowing him to be employed. Shame on you. Also, he refused to give me His name while the entire time he had all of my info along with my SS number of course. Talk about now feeling safe abs comfortable with your information. read more
