I normally go to the one on Buffalo but this one was closer to my house. It is smaller. It opens at 9 and there was already a line outside but that's normal for social security offices. This was on a Tuesday too. I went inside and spoke with the receptionist and got my ticket at 955. They have the option to text you so you can wait outside or in your car if you don't want to sit inside. I waited in my car and at 11:16 I received a text to go to my designated window. I was at the window by 11:18 and the worker behind the window was already besides herself that I had taken so long. She was rolling her eyes and just like omg I already called someone else. She's like um did you leave the property, at this point I hadn't said anything but I was like I can get another ticket if it's a problem. But she got herself together and helped me. It's a shame that these people as workers don't have more compassion towards people who are going there for help. I couldn't get what I needed completed but I did get some questions answered and will be more prepared for my next visit, main thing wait inside and don't do text because they will act like you were 10 minutes late. Zero stars if you ask me. Got here when facility opened. There is no signs where anyone should be standing or what line they should be in. A lot of frail people. After standing in line for over an hour, the security guard states what lines everyone should be in. Which we all lost our spot. Just terrible customer service. The security guard is very short and lacking compassion for those who have been out here in the sun for 2 hours. Wouldn't be surprised anyone having good things to say about this place. I read the reviews for the three Social Security offices and I was not impressed by any of them. I had just spent 8 days trying to do what I needed to do on line with much frustration and tears and no results. I had to go to one of the offices so I just randomly picked the Henderson office. I got there 45 minutes before it opened and there was already a line. For over an hour I had to stand in the sun with the temperature already being 100 degrees. I might add here that I am almost 75 years old. Then thanks to Marcos, the security guard, everything changed. He brought out a pop-up and several umbrellas. Marcos was efficient and caring. He kept an eye on the inside of the office and moved people up into the shade as soon as possible. Once inside it moved quickly. I recently moved to Las Vegas and to get a drivers license, I need a copy of my SS card. You cannot do this online so the main number said I need to go to the office. We called the number to find out what we needed to do and could not reach a human. We went to the office in Henderson an hour before they opened to wait in line. When they opened they told everyone to go home and call to make an appointment. I told them that no one takes calls and they told me I was wrong. I went home to call and make the appointment as instructed. The phone number directs you to give the number of the person you want to speak to or the last name. If you have neither it hangs up. So my question is.. how do I get an appointment? Does anyone know? I will not mail my original documents to them. This is probably the most incompetent, inefficient bunch of people to deal with. I have tried to get my child's lost social security card replaced. Over a six month period, they have written me twice just to say what I have is inefficient. Being in a pandemic, does not allow you to use that as an excuse to get back to people after two months time. I had to go to a higher authority and what do you know? I got in done swiftly. Yelp has the location incorrect. The Yelp map took me about 2 streets south of where the office is located. The office is off of Eastern and Coronado Center Dr, not Eastern and Sunridge Heights. It is in the same plaza as Hooters, U-Swirl, Massage Heights etc. and NOT in the plaza by Egg Works. Anyways, on to my review! I got there about 10:30am, and was out of there by noon. I was expecting to be there for much longer, because the place was packed when I arrived, but was thrilled to be in and out in less than 2 hours. I'm not sure how their wait system works, because some people who were there before me were still there when I left. And some people who arrived after I did were out of there before I was. But the man at the check in desk and the lady that helped me at the window were both nice and respectful towards me, so that's awesome! Literally , the most incompetent , unprofessional and worst public office I have ever dealt with Lead by Kenneth Hodges , this office does not comply with the laws and guidelines set forth by our Government 2 Grueling and stressful years I have been working with this office on my issue. They have lost paperwork, not returned phone calls, lied, made broken promises, made unethical decisions and have been simply unapologetic for their actions. There is NO checks and balances and the District Manager, Kennth Hodges refuses to give me anyone above him to appeal to. I went to this office on Tuesday. Many people in line which is a normal occurrence. I got in line @ 11am. The lines moving very slowly which also is normal. However, found out that with social distencing still in effect. Only 15 people allowed in waiting room. After approximately waiting 2 hours in line, (under the sun). A representative came outside & asked how long we have been waiting. The people in front of the line told her, "since 10 am." She was surprised to hear this. They brought out another "shade tent" for the other line & took names on a list to have people crowd together under the tents. When finally got inside. Only 4-5 windows open & no one was in the "check in" window. This made the situation worse because they were calling numbers to the windows but never gave most of the people a number. I got sunburned waiting in line. But felt worse for the elderly & disabled people having to endure. I also went last week & got there right before they opened. Waited for 1 hour & line never moved once they opened the doors. Plus it the temperature was hotter last week. They need to look into this & make changes quickly before someone has a medical emergency in line! read more

It's a nice enough office in a nice enough area of Henderson. Went for the first time. I had tried to set up an account online and hit a slight snag that prevented my online account. Was told to come in. Line wasn't too long and I checked in quickly and only had to be seated for a moment before being called to a window. The young woman was very nice and I liked her. She requested my email address and then gave me paperwork with instructions on how to complete my online account. The paperwork included a SSA website address that was slightly different from the one you can access online. I thought everything was good until the following day. The young woman made a mistake on my email address in their computer and it again prevented me from setting up an online account. When I called this office, I was told I would have to come back in. Just for an email address? Yes. I was VERY upset. The thought of driving back down there and waiting in line ruined my morning. I don't want to reveal everything about myself, but this is to warn people who might also do what I did. Make sure you write down your social security number, email address, etc. on a piece of your own paper. Let the clerk copy it exactly. Then take it back from him or her. She did not repeat my email address back to me to make certain it was correct. They already know that if they get it wrong in their system, you will have to go back to their office to correct the error. The website she told me to access would not allow me to correct it. The wrong email address that she wrote down was already in the email address field. Here is what I believe: They are losing money. Everything is going online and paperless. This was no innocent mistake. I've heard it from someone else too. I believe the workers are doing things to make people come in to their office so that they have a reason to be there. If they don't get enough visitors to keep them busy, they are out of a job. I ended up bypassing the instruction sheet the woman gave me. I went back to the SSA homepage online and created my new account there. With the snag taken care of when I went to this office, I was able to do everything I needed with no problems. Zero stars. This place is a disgrace. I've been calling for the last 2 weeks, everyday, all hours of the day. NO ONE ANSWERS. The line just keeps putting you on hold listening to music forever. Then finally rings and an automated message comes on saying they are "sorry for the delay, we will try to connect you.." then rings constantly and hangs up on you. Such a waste of time. All I'm trying to do is make an appointment to change my name after getting married. That's all. They should make it possible for us to make an appointment online so we don't have to waste our time calling and never getting through to anyone. I've called the general Social Security # as well as the Las Vegas office and got through easily but both places said I have to call Henderson office and I explained that no one answers but they just say they "can't do anything on their end". This gentleman I spoke to over the phone today to request help was the absolute worst person I've ever spoken to in my life. How awful that he felt the need to berate someone for asking for help and constantly speaking down to me for not wanting to drop off documents (I.e. DL, medical records, Birth Certificate) that will then be mailed back. I let him know that I wasn't comfortable with that option and requested to speak to someone else. He then followed the response with " why? So someone can give you the wrong answer or so they can hold your hand like a baby?" What a horrible person. This is so awful that you have a person that is this terrible working there and feeling as if they have any right to speak to someone asking for help. I made an attempt to ask for help from another person and he refused. This office location is disgraceful for allowing him to be employed. Shame on you.
