Recently had an event (football end of season banquet and championship party) and had SoCal Gamez bring a trailer and laser tag for the guys. The team had a great time and I even played laser tag with them. Super fun and really cool that they have so many options on/in the game truck. Boys were playing online and console games, the rock band was cool on the "patio" at the back of the trailer. Laser tag was super fun and they had a bunch of barriers, tents, etc up to make it exciting and active. By far the best birthday party I've ever hosted (and I'm 9 in the game!) I have done my research prior to the party, and this is the truck with the fairest price and the highest review (it was a no brainer which one to choose after I researched game trucks for San Diego!) and after hosting the party I see why it's deserving!! Easy, and engaging. Gamez on Wheelz pulled up to the park, set up and helped kids and adults run their games smoothly. You will need three parallel spaces to set up in. Perfect for anywhere, although the park was extra swag. There are different options to choose from, depending on the party size. My party turned out to be bigger than expected, but it worked out thanks to our guy! All games are social, and meant to be played with others. There are so many games to choose from, truly a game for everyone!! I only wish there was an option for maybe 1.5 hours instead of the full 2. Definitely still five stars, over and over again. I went with the Combo Party (Laser tag and Game truck) for my Grandsons 12th Birthday! The kids had an amazing time but so did the adults! I enjoyed watching my Brother-in-law and the other parents playing Rock Band it was so much fun. This was the first Party I actually sat down and enjoyed. I am usually checking on guests and hosting but entertainment was totally handled. From the start to the end this was an awesome company to do business with. Okay so I have to confess that I am just a tad obsessive... And that combined with the fact that I thrive on creativity has resulted in me developing a stellar reputation of throwing some truly awesome little kid parties wherein my attention to detail is borderline OCPD... So in other words I'm pretty hard to satisfy (much less impress) when it comes to the standards my kiddie parties much achieve. This year unceasing time constraints led me to outsource my daughter's 11 year old birthday party. I was interested in the gaming interior, the side TVs (for the dads and stand up Wii type games), the Rockband stage, as well as the Laser Tag option. I called and got a good vibe from David (the owner) and ended up contracting Gamez on Wheelz to handle the bulk of my entertainment. And I was not only satisfied but extremely impressed with the results. The party was a BIG HIT. The equipment looked brand new and flashy and impressive, the game-masters were very professional but great with the kids too, and everything went smooth sailing. My home does not really lend itself to this environment as we live on a busy street and have minimal open grass areas. Therefore I had decided to hold my party at a park. I literally did not have to do one single thing with the truck (or the laser tag crew) other than tell them where to park (set up). And to my surprise, even though it was a Sunday evening at some remote location, David the owner stopped by to make sure everything was going smoothly and to help ensure all areas of the truck were thoroughly being enjoyed. I have done parties at the ice rink and venues like that and I rarely get a manager checking in much less the owner and most certainly was not expecting this kind of consideration at an obscure location. I also ended up placing an order for 6 dozen Gamez on Wheelz cupcakes. Had you unwittingly been walking by, you would have thought my guests were relapsing sugar addicts... They could not stop eating the cupcakes and even though I had ordered more than 20 extra, I started to worry we would run out before all the guests had gotten even one! This is a cool party and I really cannot imagine any group of children left wanting. It was so simple, and alleviated a lot of the tedious little things that can end up being a lot of stress that goes into planning every little thing in your son/daughter's birthday parties. The birthday boy just described Gamez on Wheelz as AWESOME! We used them this past weekend for my sons 11th birthday and it was a hit! When planning the party, I received a quick response from David, and he was extremely helpful and friendly during the whole process.Once the truck pulled up, we met our hosts Paul and Kevin. They were great with the kids!! Now for the star- the truck itself: AMAZING! This truck had the 4 TVs inside, which accommodated 16 kids. This was the best game truck ever! It's newly refurbished, with all the updates. We used him for my sons very small bar mitzvah, and it was a hit! The other 1 star reviews are totally right. Pay attention and avoid this company! We booked Gamez on Wheelz for a joint birthday party for two 10 year old boys at a house on a cul-de-sac. We coordinated with the owner, David, to find out how we should prepare given the location on a cul-de-sac. Based on that coordination, we blocked off an area with orange cones in front of the house as requested (which was eventually used successfully). When the driver (Paul) showed up in front of the house next to the marked off area, he got out of the truck and said he needed a car parked further down the cul-de-sac to be moved so the he could turn the rig around and approach from the other direction. The owner of that car was out running errands and said she would return before the end of the party in 2 hours. The driver said that this was unacceptable and he would have to leave to go to the next party. As parents of the birthday boys, we were confused and frustrated to hear the party might be cancelled as friends were arriving. We offered alternative solutions like blocking off other areas or even blocking off the entire cul-de-sac with the agreement of all homeowners while waiting for the owner of the problem car (who did arrive shortly thereafter). The driver insisted no other solutions were acceptable. The company owner could not be reached. We demanded a solution and the driver complained that he was being unfairly blamed for the situation and he was leaving. In response to a mother who he says used the term "dirtbag" he claimed that he was being assaulted. He then left the area by executing maneuvers he claimed incapable of doing, leaving crying kids behind. People stared in disbelief. Oddly enough, he returned 5 minutes later and parked in the originally marked off area. Somehow we managed to set aside the craziness and agreed to try to start over. The party went forward with everyone on pins and needles to keep from upsetting the driver. A couple of days after the party, I was able to reach the owner to complain about the ridiculous start to the evening. It would have been nice if he had reached out to me first, but I now know my expectations should have been much lower. He agreed that the driver should have been open to other solutions to start the party and admitted that he was unqualified and unauthorized to maneuver the rig in a cul-de-sac! He then went on a long winded explanation of how he used his professional investigative skills to get to the bottom of the situation, including voice recordings which he refused to share, and that we were really to blame for various reasons including verbal assault using the term "dirtbag." He refused any credits or concessions. However he did falsely claim that the driver had been tipped $50 cash and we could deal with the driver directly to try to get that back as a credit. Of course nobody had tipped him cash and I was able to verify with all adults present. But even if this were true, what business owner in his right mind refers you to deal directly with his subordinate to resolve a customer service issue? So here are some final conclusions of my own: 1. If parking is critical to rendering services, use drivers capable of parking your vehicles consistent with pre-planning requests to the customer. 2. When you run into challenges (i.e. parking), be open to possible solutions that allow your services to still be performed. 3. If you failed to follow the first 2 and then drive away from the kids birthday party in dramatic fashion, you have richly earned the name "dirtbag." 4. Don't claim to have been assaulted by the mother of a birthday boy who is half your size and called you "dirtbag" out of frustration for making her child cry. 5. When you do come to your senses and return (to park in the same area you refused to use initially, proving it was just fine to begin with), apologize profusely. 6. Don't refer to professional investigative skills unless you're very sure you have all of the facts completely correct. 7. If you have professional investigative skills, don't use them in an attempt to argue with your customers. 8. Don't allude to checking voice recordings of the event that were made without the consent of your customers. It makes them and other prospective customers wonder what else you might be recording at your events. 9. A business owner is never a helpless middle man stuck between his customer and his employee. 10. Pathetic! read more

Look elsewhere! I'd suggest anyone NOT rent from this company. We've used Game Truck Party and they were absolutely great. Gamez on Wheelz was a horrible experience at a recent b-day party. Customer service from the guy who was operating the truck was absolutely horrible! I'm not sure how they stay in business treating people like that. He would much rather argue than help the kids. Next time we're looking to rent a game truck for a party, Gamez on Wheelz will not be considered. After reading other reviews, I agree 100%. This guy loves to argue with people.
