my physical therapist recommended this place, because I have a rotator injury. Honestly, one of the best massages I've ever had. My injury has improved 100%. It's very easy to book online. Very nice location, very clean, and quiet. so many of the other places are just not quiet. On a scale of one to 10 I would give it a 10. oh my word, I didn't think about posting photos. I'll try to get one next time. read more

I've floated a lot. More than most humans.. Something like 1800 or more floats I've done in the span of 4 years. I've floated in every tank made, such as Samadhi, Oasis, Float lab tanks, escape pod tanks, float rooms and float pods. I also have owned 3 commercial tanks and I currently own one of the largest float tanks in the world, that is entirely for my own personal use. I also build my own commercial filtration systems from scratch. I tend to understand just a little about float tanks. I am currently in transition from moving and all my stuff is in storage, so I haven't been able to float for about a month. I was interested in visiting this location to do a float, but from my first sight of their tanks online I saw a crucial flaw, their tanks have no active ventilation. This tends to be an area of ignorance among a lot of the float community. Some people are just oblivious to the fact that a float tank will get stuffy/muggy from having warm water in an enclosed area. I suppose some people just don't take notice of it, or see it as an issue. I personally do not like sitting in a mostly air tight space with muggy air and very little fresh air coming into it to help me breathe. This is where the fantastic idea of air circulation came into place. The guy who first invented the float tank understood that they can get a little stuffy and muggy so he made all his tanks with air circulation fans connected to them. This brought in fresh air from the room the tank is in, into the tank to provide a more breathable environment. Tanks that do not have controlled air with the use of a fan are called passive ventilation tanks. Passive ventilation is a hole or 2 in the back of the tank that allows air to come into it naturally. If you understand the most common complaint of people who float, they will say that it is a little difficult to breathe in a tank with passive ventilation. This is somewhat of a well known complaint. (Just read forums, read reviews of bigger float centers, or watch the vice documentary on sensory deprivation on YouTube that has the guy complaining about the Samadhi tank being muggy). So I tend to not float in tanks without an air circulation fan. I've spent so much time in tanks that I have learned all their flaws, and not having controlled air is the biggest flaw of most tanks. So I spoke to the owner of this center and tried to get her to understand this, and her response was that it was not her experience that it is hard to breathe in a tank, and she wasnt convinced it was right to get a fan for her tanks. In other words, she was stuck in her own way of thinking and wasn't open to expanding her tank in new ways, for all her customers, because it wasn't her experience that tanks get muggy.... The one thing I find comical about so many float center people, is many of them have a belief that they are in some way evolved for doing a forward thinking activity like floating, yet so many of them are just as narrow minded as any ordinary narrow minded person that doesn't float. There are actually a few float companies that understand controlled air circulation, such as Crash at Float lab in L.A. has an oxygen line in his tanks, escape pod tanks were all sold with fans, Aqua anima the Swedish tank comes with an air circulation fan, all samadhi tanks were once made with fans, and the company mandala float makes a fan for float tanks called the ninja. Surely if breathing in a tank wasn't an issue for anyone these companies wouldn't have made their tanks have controlled air through the use of a fan. Also, Jeremy the owner of Escape pod said he measured the air in Oasis and Samadhi tanks that didn't have a fan connected to them, and he found high levels of Co2 within them, and said he would never float in a tank without a fan connected to it. Read here: www.wefloat.net/index.php/floatation-therapy-forum/1127-fan-for-oasis Very simply, any tank that depends on getting it's air from a small hole in the back of it will become stuffy. There is a big difference between the air quality of a tank with a fan connected to it, and a tank with no fan that depends on air to naturally come into it (passive ventilation). Most people who use float tanks simply aren't experienced enough to be able to understand the tank they are floating in is muggy, so they just adapt to it, and think it is normal. In the same way that most people don't know what floating in an 8 foot x 8 foot tank is like, and they get used to bumping into side walls and floating in small tanks like the oasis and after a while think that is normal also. read more

The anger in me wants to give a 1 star review, yet, I have processed what happened today for HOURS. Truly breathing into my heart and seeing the accountability on both sides- mine and theirs. I even called in again, very grounded, and was met with Myka's (however you spell her name) voice offering only robotic statements. Floating is my therapy. It is the only 'medicine' that truly works for my being. I have been floating since 2011, regularly, up to 4 hours at a time. I was stoked to find So Float and get in some floats before leaving southern Oregon. On the day of my last float with them, I had one of the most powerful floats to date. Afterwards, I had requested the same time the following day, with Amanda the manager, and thought all was good. YES, I did not check my email from them because I assumed she had inputed the schedule correctly, as she had for the previous month several times. She seemed competent. Not checking my e-mail - MY accountability. When I arrived at noon, really needing the float, I was greeted with "Your appointment was at 10." My stomach sank. I had driven 45 minutes, and I was immediately super sad. Amanda said, "I called you." Again- lack of reception, assuming it was a call confirming my appointment, as she has done in the past. She offered to reschedule, but took zero accountability, putting the blame on me, the client, when I had another appointment already scheduled that day at 10:15, and I had told her the same time as the day before, which was NOON. I was super upset, but didn't want to give up. I ran back in to ensure Amanda wouldn't charge the fee for cancellation within 24 hour window, and she agreed (with an attitude heavily lacking compassion, which is fine- I know that is relative). There was a slot available the following morning, yet I had no idea if I would be able to find free childcare for the entire time of driving and floating, I asked if they would be willing to wave the fee if I couldn't, and they agreed as long as I told them by the end of the day. HERE IS WHERE I just needed to come and say something with others who may be considering floating here. Anyone who has really got into floating knows how sacred this healing technology is. It seems Amanda and Myka do NOT know the power of this. Taking on all the 'consequences' for Amanda's mistake and still making the drive all over the next day, stretching for childcare and paying the full membership $ was NOT sitting right with me, so, I proactively called back to see if Myka could maybe talk to someone and arrange to meet me half way and offer half off the float - I was NOT asking for a handout at all. Her response, "I can talk to somebody, but, no, we can't do that for you." ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. VERY surprising, the lack of compassion and consciousness for a wellness spa/center. SUPER disappointing, given that I have been a catalyst for SEVERAL people signing up to float in the past. More than the hundreds, possibly thousands, of dollars this spa could have brought in through referrals by simply meeting me half way - AGAIN, NOT asking for a handout, even though it was completely the managers mistake (my mistake for not 'catching' her mistake)- I am saddened by the lack of humanity and connection in this "wellness" hub. There may not be other places to float nearby, and I still encourage everyone to float, yet I cannot feel good about recommending this place, nor will I. If they contact me to bring this into right relations, perhaps. But whoever the owner is should know that, even if your employees are following business procedures, maybe have them respond with "Let me see what I can do," when a client is really stretching to continue doing business with you. Amanda was on her way out for the day, and perhaps if Myka wasn't there, she would have been able to work something out with me. I understand nobody's perfect, and not everyone understands business. Again, POOR BUSINESS CONDUCT. The tanks and rooms themselves are pretty nice. This could have easily been a 5 star review if they would have handled this mishap differently. Let's think about what kind of businesses we want to feed here. Robots or HUMAN BEINGS with heart? read more

SO Float consistently delivers a top-notch spa experience. The floatation tanks are a unique sensory deprivation experience that I would highly recommend, and the massage services are among the best I have ever had. Both Jamey, the owner, and Aimee the other massage therapist, have different but equally effective therapeutic styles that always render me 100% improved and 200% relaxed after my treatment. From the moment you arrive the in spa, the welcoming staff, environment and aromas promote a feeling of ease. Can't wait for my next trip to Medford to see the SO Float practitioners! They're simply the best! read more

I recently had the opportunity to visit SO Float Spa for a one hour massage with Jamey and a one hour float in the sensory deprivation, epsom salt infused float tank. The entire experience was lovely. Jamey, the owner, has over 10 years experience in massage and is known in the valley from her other business THAT Massage Place. Jamey practices Ashiatsu massage, which is practiced with the feet. This massage reminded me of a hot stone massage, with the smooth long strokes, and the deeper tissue accessed by using the feet. Jamey has the great ability to find those really tight and sore spots and work them out. Also, she's funny. I would highly recommend Jamey for a wonderful, deep massage experience. The float was a whole separate experience and one I had never heard of. The tank is fully enclosed, not too small (I never felt claustrophobic), and pitch black inside. It truly is a sensory deprivation tank as you really can't hear or see anything and the 1000 pounds of epsom salts dissolved in the water keeps you afloat. It really feels like something is holding you up, like a board, but it's just the water! It is very soothing, and when you are done you are quite relaxed and your skin is amazingly soft. I would have preferred my water just a tiny bit warmer, but it was by no means cold or uncomfortable. The magnesium in the epsom salt is great for sore muscles, relaxation and is a mineral we are often deficient in, especially women. Jamey has some great prices and specials, the ambiance is welcoming and soothing, the staff are friendly and excited about your experience. I would, and do, recommend Jamey and SO Float Spa as a wonderful way to treat yourself to some self care. read more

I've been to SO Float twice now. The first time was a nice experience, but this time was not so good. I booked the 60 minute float online, which was fairly easy. When I arrived I was taken right to the room but had to ask for a refresher on what to do (shower before getting in, etc). About 1/2 way through my soak the shower curtain rod fell and made a horribly loud noise! It totally took me out of my relaxation. After the 60 minutes we're done, I let the staff person know the rod fell and all she said was "We heard! We're glad it wasn't you!" I told her it took me out of my relaxation but I was given no apology, no discount on the soak I just had or on any future soak. I was disappointed with that customer service, or lack thereof. Not sure that I'll go back. read more

Quick update for net global transparency, Radio Medford's VP/ GM has brightened this experience and extended a silver-lining through alternate option(s) solution. My appreciation goes out to Radio Medford for providing a customer solution opportunity. It's surprising that a solution needed to come from a third party source; as opposed to the proprietor themselves. read more

I was gifted a 90 minute float, when I called to make an appointment I was greeted by a very friendly woman named Jamie. She was able to set me up with a late evening appointment two days later and explained all I needed to know before coming included directions. When I arrived I was greeted warmly by her and Micah who showed me my room and the tank. After a very thorough explanation of everything I was left to myself to rinse and hop in. It took me awhile to relax. I'm just not good at that ever haha- but once I did it was incredible. Pitch black. Sound proof. Weightless. The sensory deprivation is incredible and you just can't get that anywhere else with any other form of relaxing. Once I was able to just "be" the time flew by. They tapped on the tank and I tapped back to let them know I was awake and then hopped out and into the shower where they provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It was an incredible experience. I think as you get used to it you might only need a 60 minute float but 90 minutes is great for a first timer or someone who really has a hard time relaxing. Plus- my skin is super smooth from all that salt! read more

We are especially fortunate to have a float center here in the Rogue Valley! If you haven't experienced floating, you owe it to yourself to schedule the most relaxing and restorative 60 or 90 minutes available. The chattering mind turns off, the body deeply relaxes, and peace is restored, at least for a while. The owner, Jamey is delightful, the spa is small but peaceful, and the tanks modern and clean, with a private shower in the room. Give it a try! read more

I had a coupon and decided to try out this salon. Very very friendly owners and staff. The float tub was clean, warm, and big. The room to prepare for the float was big with homey spa touches, like shampoo, lotion. Massage was very relaxing. I'll be back! read more

This place was warm. The owner was warm too. Everything was explained, so I was clear about what to expect. An hour was timeless! I thought it would be darker though. I could see a Very faint light coming in through some breathing holes. It was very faint but detectable. Other than that, the complete weightlessness was transforming!. read more

First time floating I really enjoyed it. It was kind of hard for me to get out of my own head. As time passed I enjoyed the float more. I will get the massage next time . I did the 90-minute float. I would highly recommend floating. It relieved a lot of stress. I also would have preferred the water to be a little bit warmer but it was quite pleasant. The staff was friendly and very professional. We drove 3 hours it was well worth the drive. read more

We came up to Ashland from Sacramento for the Shakespeare festival. My buddy and I were talking on the drive up about floating. I had done it several times.. He was a 21 year old newbie. We searched for a salon in Ashland however there were none. So we found this gem. It was clean, friendly and the vibe was a friendly and welcoming one. Syrah was our guide and she was educational, warm and a great sense of humor. She put us both to ease, paying special attention to my friend to put him at ease on his first float. Needless to say he loved it and the whole experience here. We also got to meet the owner, Jamey who was on hand after our float. She too was a delight and very welcoming. I own a "mom and pop" as well, and know how important hospitality and the overall experience of "whatever" is for the guest. This place is wonderful and if you have an opportunity to visit please do. They also offer other services as well. Great job ladies!! Keep up the great work! See ya next year!! :) read more

GOT STRESS? = GO HERE! ....melt it all away! By far the best massage I've had in Southern Oregon and sprinkle that with more sugar with a cherry on top---FLOAT for an hour after! I literally have to decompress before driving in my car. This is truly as good as it gets. The relaxing atmosphere, the soft energy from the greeters are welcoming. I've had over a half a dozen massages from Jamey Kirschel, LMT. Her loving-kindness-energy radiates upon just meeting her. She uses a technique known as Ashiatsu Bar Therapy. This is a deep, gravity assisted massage that focuses on the big muscles along the spine, gluteals, and legs (quoted from her website). She springs up on the table, as graceful as a gazelle gliding across the African safari. During the massage I actually felt my body reconnect in with itself...my ribs have space in between and I can breath deeper. As she hangs from the ceiling holding onto bars, her feet are like warm-magic, healing energy seeking bounded up, tight knots. The gentleness in her voice is so pleasing and warm, it's like sipping a soothing warm cup of tea, or better yet, melting hot chocolate. Yes-I'm a big fan of this business! Wishing she'd move closer to Ashlandia so I don't have to drive too far. Jamey - my body thanks you! GO FLOAT! read more
