Sofa upholstery needed repair. Price seemed a little high, but we agreed to it. Good craftsmanship costs money. But - within just a couple of months, one seam that didn't appear to have been knotted right in the first place started to come apart. Owner is insisting on charging again to come out to fix it. He'll tell you we agreed that there was no guarantee on his work, and that's true - but that assumes it was done competently in the first place, which this didn't appear to be, considering how quickly it came undone. I always want to support local artisans, and I get that they can't guarantee the work over the long term - but to refuse to even consider that it wasn't done right in the first place is problematic, to say the least. I stopped by Snyder's and they gave me a quote, and we set up a morning appointment a few days later. I dropped it off in the morning and it was ready at the end of the day. It was very easy to work with them. I was impressed by their knowledge of fabrics and vinyl. The other thing that I think really sets them apart is how many upholsterers they have working for them. I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado, I had them make me seat covers with Pittsburgh Steelers on them. A+++ job, I'm glad i went here. They did a kick ass job and all the staff was extremely helpful. The owner Robert is a great dude. I never told him I wanted the helmet on them as well and when I mentioned it to him, he added them on for free. I'm telling you, you want quality work done, go see Bob, he's a man of his word. Stands behind everything he does. The other shit people are talking about on here, I cant see that. Everything in this review about Snyder Upholstery, is the absolute undisputed truth and can be substantiated by emails and tape recorded phone calls. On or about June 11 2021, I brought my 1995 Jaguar XJS into Snyders to get a quote on reupholstering the seats. I was quoted by Tina that it would cost $3500 for material and labor. She said she would need a deposit of $1700, which i put on my Visa card. She set up an appointment for me to bring the car in on July 5. She advised me that the project would take two weeks. On July 2 she called me to tell me she forgot that Snyder would be closed from July5 through July19, so we rescheduled bringing the car in on July 19 with the same understanding that the job would take two weeks. I had someone follow me to Snyder on July 19. We dropped the car off and I was given a ride home. At the end of the day of July 19, Bob Boillat called me to tell me to pick the car up because, and I kid you not, the "Syrians", who were to do the work, had come in the previous Friday, picked up their paychecks, and told Mr. Boillat, with no advance notice, that they were going back to Syria for four weeks to visit family. I was then told that I had to come in and have Tina take pictures of my seats as there were two different styles for that particular model. I came in and Tina assured me she had taken pictures and knew the correct seat covers to order. Mr. Boillat told me that the seat covers would take approximately four weeks to come in, and by then the "Syrians" would be back. Approximately four to six weeks went by and I was then told by Mr. Boillat that the "Syrians" had never come back and he now had to find other workers to do the work. In addition, Tina had never ordered the seat covers and I would now have to come in a third time to have pictures taken because all of a sudden there were now three styles to choose from. On September 1, I sent Mr. Boillat an email instructing him to return my $1700 within ten days. I told him I would be sharing this email with an attorney and other agencies if he did not comply. He called me that same day to tell me he could care less if I contacted an attorney. I called Snyder several more times inquiring about my refund, in which I was subjected to the most profane, vulgar language from Tina prompting me to hang up on her. After several weeks of no contact from Snyder and still no refund, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In his response to BBB he claimed he offered me a refund but I refused. He also stated that he would refund my deposit immediately but it had to be credited to my Visa card because that is how I payed for it, and he needed the Visa card number in order to credit it. So, Mr. Boillat checked the receipt and knew that I had paid for it by credit card, but he still wanted me to tell him the card number even though it is on the receipt. It was just another stall tactic by Mr. Boillat. I told the BBB that I would give the BBB my credit card number and they could forward it to Mr. Boillat as I would not subject myself to another vulgar obscene phone call from Tina and I wanted no further contact with Mr. Boillat. Over the past four to five weeks Mr. Boillat has assured the BBB, on at least four separate emails to them, that he would issue the refund immediately. As of today, December 23, he still has not honored his promises to the BBB. Mr. Boillat is a pathological liar. One need only to contact the BBB and you will see proof of his lies. In short, this is not a reputable, honorable business. I wish I could give them 0 stars but it appears I can only give 1 as the lowest. read more

Not good customer service. I went in for a quote. The woman behind the counter had a terrible cough. Not a good impression with all the colds and flu/virus going around. She was waiting on someone so she called another woman to help out. I explained to her what I wanted and she asked me to fill out a form with my name, etc. She then proceeded to wait on the customer who came in after me. Obviously someone who had been there before. A great example of promises and pitch and instead of solving problems is abandoning the job. I engage Snyder approximately 4 weeks ago to complete a canvas for my boat. They said they would do it and came up with a charge that was average compared to their competition. The boat was in the water and they said they could accomplish it in the water. After giving him a deposit a few weeks back they said they were going to start with it this past Monday and we'll be done with it by Friday. today is Friday the owner called me to say that he just couldn't do a canvas on it because it was windy this week which that is only today as he didn't really start working on it until today and told me that he's not going to do it and just give the deposit back. very disappointing as I let those other bids go who said they could do it in a time frame very similar. he really didn't even want to look at additional options but just did not want to do the job after he had committed to it and had taken the money for it. I give him only one star because he did quickly give the deposit back but has left me hanging we're we're now Midsummer and I won't have a canvas while missing a canvas. extremely disappointed by not having it done, but more disappointed by the way the owner brashly handled the situation and basically abandon the project after he committed to it. I guess when you have a lot of work in the summer time it's easy to dump customers but at the end of the day you can only go on a person's word and obviously his word is a very low value.
