We were checking out island camping when we hit rocks and unfortunately broke our prop. We immediately called Dockside. They were so responsive and reassuring. We are lunch at Algonquin in Bolton Landing while we waited for a new prop. Turns out, it was more damage than anticipated so we had to get a tow back. Now, you may think that this unfortunate accident would ruin our day, but it didn't. We wished we could have seen more of the lake but what we did see was beautiful and prior to the "incident", it was relaxing. What made things better was the staff. Jesse and Taylor were great with the kids and so nice. When we got back to the marina, the owner was so kind and understanding. Today was a bust for us, but we plan to come back to the area. When we do, we will rent from Dockside for sure. Please note: they are in Hague on Lake George NOT in Lake George Village. If north on the lake or near, rent at Dockside. This side of the lake is calmer, less crowded and beautiful.

A private condo above the marina office with our own designated parking spot and entrance. Stephanie the owner was amazing and answered any questions quickly. The 2 bedroom 1.5 bath condo had all the amenities, two comfy beds a great front room with a deck and panoramic views. It is about 40 minutes north of Lake George Village but the solitude is what we were looking for. I definitely recommend this as a spot for a couple or small family.

He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. (Lynn, if you are reading this, pencil us in again for next summer, we'll be back!)

Very friendly service from the dock workers who clearly know what they're doing. On the plus side, it's a straight line to back your boat into the water. That definitely would make it easy for someone like me who has no dang clue at reversing with a trailer. On the minus side, it's a heck of a steep hill to get your boat onto the trailer and out of the marina. You're going to need all the possible torque to be successful at driving up the hill. At the top, there was a shady spot that made it easy to get all the day's rubbish and coolers out of the boat so it was ready to transport back to the parking. It would have been nice if they had a dumpster or a trash can up there but they don't. We brought the trash with us instead. Fuel's not cheap, so fill up before you get here. I wanted to give a big thanks to Shelburne Shipyard mgr Mark L for helping me out with an unusual…read moresituation. The engine on my trailerable sailboat was acting up and we couldn't get the boat up to the Shipyard on the water like we normally do in order to get the puny 14 gallon head pumped out. Fortunately where we keep the boat moored is very close to the ramp we use to launch and recover it, both of which are just a few miles by road from Shelburne Shipyard. It took a few calls but once we got in touch with Mark we were able to make arrangements for us to haul the boat out of the water and then drive it up to the Shipyard and use the very long hose they have for reaching boats on the long dock to get it pumped out while on land. So a very big THANK YOU for allowing us to squeeze in between the busy schedule of end of season boat hauling .

I did however say "she didn't know what she was doing" SHE LIED AND TOLD THE OWNER I CURSED AT HER AND HAD HER YOUNG FRIEND BACK THAT LIE UP!! The fact is she is physically incapable of re-trailering a vessel. And not careful. The truth hurts but she had already twice caused damage to our brand new jet skis. Neither time did I complain in spite of it costing me $1400.00 in repairs. The morale of the staff here has gotten progressively worse too. Staffers barking at customers and even sniping each other behind their backs. All of this, after being very cooperative and making sure to tip the staffers who actually were a big help to us.
