Extremely Disappointing Moving Experience Our loading…read moreexperience with Sumner Dependable Movers was extremely disappointing. We hired two movers, Shawn and Mark, specifically to load our U-Haul because we needed help with the heavy lifting and wanted the truck loaded efficiently. Unfortunately, they arrived late and seemed physically unprepared for the job. They became winded easily, needed to stop and rest repeatedly, complained about the heat, and appeared eager to finish as quickly as possible. They were there for barely over an hour. Instead of professionally loading and maximizing the space in the truck, they primarily placed items toward the end of the truck and left us to deal with much of the actual packing and heavy lifting ourselves. That completely defeated the purpose of hiring movers in the first place. My husband and I are both almost 60, and it was incredibly frustrating--and honestly infuriating--to pay for a moving service only to end up doing so much of the work ourselves. If you are paying movers because you need reliable, capable help with loading a truck, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Based on our experience, I would not waste your money on this company.

My brother confirms the week before, talks with Robert the night before, "yeah, yeah, got you on the books!" My brother flies from Seattle, two of us drive from San Diego to Lake Havasu. We are all in our 60's, dad is 83. Saturday morning, no show!!! Middle of July, monsoon humidity, brutal! All they had to do is call, nothing was acknowledged, we called 3x , voicemail once and nothing afterwards! We loaded a houseful full of furniture, tools and boxes ourselves! Total failure, no communication, unreliable, call anyone else! Recommended by UHaul, then they admit they've had many complaints also. Beware, if you can't move your house when they don't show up, don't use them! Still no communication, my brother did get his money refunded. DO NOT USE THEM! U Haul should remove them from the "recommendation."

The move was scheduled at 9:00 am my mother requested time off and made the drive to my home where her stuff was which is a hour and half drive. 9:30 rolls around and he texts her he is running behind and will be there alittle after 10 saying that he was stuck in traffic. No biggie - 11:15 rolls around still no sight of them. She follows up and he says I'm sorry I had to pick up money from a job that we did the day before- again no biggie but already seeing lack of communication. This move was important and so at this point our back is against the wall so we just say okay no worries - 1pm rolls around and no word or communication. We finally text him asking if this was going to happen left with no response . This is the worst type of service I have ever seen!!!! I am beyond shocked that business is done this way. I have contacted the BBB to see if he in fact has the license he states he has. We lost time and money at work, the stress of moving and ensuring everything was ready and a well planned out day along with a 2 hours commute 1 way for my mother is a lot. We till this day have not received a single explanation. Do not hire this guy.
