The museum was located just blocks from the Red Lion Hotel. Although quite small, the museum was packed with pictures, items and stories of Post Falls from the past. You can't help but be inthralled with the items that are displayed, if you aren't already. But the stories and info that Ted, one of the volunteers and also a member of the Historical Society Board, share with us of how the town came to be until this day. You will be fascinated with some of the facts of Post Falls. We happen to be the only ones in the museum after a couple of people left so we had a one on one tour with Ted which was splendid because I'm sure he shared with us a lot more than if the placed were spilled with visitors. If you are in town, please stop by. There are no fees to take the tour of the museum, but donations are greatly appreciated. Ted was very kind and absolutely knowledgeable. Please stop in and get an ear full of some great history of Post Falls. The place is clean and set up nicely. One story, and mostly wide walking areas so easy to tour.

Welcome to paradise! Manito park in mid-August made for an amazing afternoon. We walked under a…read morebeautiful stone bridge and up a little hill and emerged at Rose Hill Garden which was filled with thousands of roses of many varieties. We then made our way to the Lilac Garden where we just missed the peak season but it was still an amazing sight and smell. Next up was Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden. I love Japanese Gardens and didn't even know one existed in the corner of the park! We spent 40 minutes in here taking in the views and having casual conversations with visitors. Unfortunately, we didn't see the Gaiser Conservatory but did have time to visit the Duncan Garden which was another area filled with tens of thousands of different flowers. There were also statues, fountains, and other surprises. The symmetry of the arranged flower beds and decorations delighted the engineer in me. We saw a lot of other life in the park- bees, butterflies, worms, beetles, squirrels and more. I highly recommend visiting this park if you're in Spokane! It's a great place to forgot your troubles and see the beauty in life!

Here is my experience: I purchased 2 VIP tickets for both Friday & Saturday events. This was to be a gift. A few days before I needed to give this gift, they cancelled the event. (But they did not really cancel. They changed the name "From the Ashes" to "Discovery Fire." I spoke with both people in charge of handling the event (the person who set everything up (From the Ashes) and the Settlers Inn person (Discovery Fire) who is now handling it. I was told that those who only bought the one day are fine but those who bought both days now had to buy again. They would NOT sell me tickets over the phone. They said I would need to go to the website again to purchase tickets. The website charges fees. The refund will not include fees. Not a big deal except I shouldn't have to pay additional fees that I have already paid. Their answer: So sorry. We cannot do anything about it. I am very angry. I have a very short time to try to find another gift for my son. Buyer beware: This event may or may not take place. IF you purchase tickets, they still may cancel the event.
