Hillside Small Animal Hospital - Your Guide to Pet Vaccinations

    Hillside Small Animal Hospital

I've dropped thousands of dollars at this place. The substitute vet put a cast on my poor little…read morepuppy. I then had to take her to med vet. About $1000 later, my pup went to med vet who removed the cast and said the x ray was misread. When I tried to get my money back, little Timmy wouldn't give it to me. Done with him. He's very short and rude. What I call little man's syndrome

I have been so extremely impressed with this hospital, there is not enough I can say to push that…read morepoint home. I have worked in the Vet field for many years, and my animals are family. Dr Fouts is knowledgeable and caring with my pets. I have been through some very rough times with them such as a difficult euthanasia and a pet with a chronic illness and they have made the experience wonderful. The front desk staff are rockstars and know me by name when I come in. They are friendly and engaging. I have interacted with Dr Hopping, although she has not seen my animals, and she seems great as well. The hospital is beautiful and clean. If I need a medication or food they look into ordering it for me. Their prices are reasonable. My pets actually enjoy coming here, as do I. Calls and lab results are returned promptly and appointments are easy to obtain. They do some neat adoption events and open houses through out the year, so keep an eye out for those. I really could go on and on, but you have to see for yourself. If you want the best care for your pet, this is your place!

    Lake Pointe Veterinary Hospital

    Lake Pointe Veterinary Hospital

This hospital is now owned by a corporation called Encore Vet in New York State. My opinion of…read moreEncore is that they are all about money and have zero interest in providing veterinary care. The staff at Lake Pointe is tremendous. However, their x-ray machine has been inoperable now for about 8 weeks! Any procedure requiring an x-ray cannot be performed. You will still pay for the office visit even though the service cannot be provided. We took our pet that has cardiomyopathy to Lake Pointe to have its chest tapped to remove excess fluid. This requires that an x-ray be done to locate the needle insertion point. Since the x-ray unit was still in need of repair or replacement they could not perform the procedure. They referred us to the local VEG emergency hospital where we paid an $1100 bill for their services. I have reported Encore Vet to the Ohio Veterinary board for investigation. To have an x-ray unit out of service for 8 weeks shows how little they care about providing care for animals. I repeat, they are in it for money and nothing else. I also repeat that the Lake Pointe staff in Amelia are great but their lack of support from the corporate ownership has caused me to find a new veterinary clinic. If zero stars were a choice, that would be my rating. I do not recommend Lake Pointe in Amelia due to corporate's lack of caring.

I suspect many of the reviews favoring this veterinary ''hospital'' are from back in the day when…read moreit was All Creatures --owned and operated by Drs Meakin and his wife also a veterinarian.. An amazing place back then, but no more.... I even saw they used photos of the place in this yelp ad from before and even one of Dr Dan and his wife. Dr Dan seriously loved helping all the animals, but the new owners are hostile to anyone who challenges their opinion, unlike Dr Dan who acted more like a consultant to those who were trying to care for their own animals, and especially rescuers in order to help more animals . The new owner/vet presumes to dictate her opinions on vaccination, does not consider the pet owner's possible intelligence, ignoring the research showing that none of the vaccines has been tested against a genuine placebo, as well as the research showing that veterinary vaccines caused early cancers on dogs, and the research showing that [in humans] unvaccinated children were far healthier than the vaccinated. Then came the subject of surgery, potentially to find cancer and dismissal of successful use of ivermectin to cure cancer in animals --which is being adopted now by many humans now posting their successful results as n=1 cases repeating many times. But no worry, she'll be most eager to proffer euthanasia services and her prices are more than double for even just an office call. Guaranteed this woman doesn't even deserve a 2.5 rating ...even tho the surviving staff still try to be helpful on the phone. TTYL

With her help, I adopted two Shibas from Tri-State Shiba Inu Rescue (she was fostering them at her facility). Pam has been there to assist with questions and guidance along the way. I have used Royal Kennels boarding services, and always found their kennels to be clean and well maintained. Having an owner living onsite makes me feel more comfortable, and I know that any dog in their care is in good hands. I have also recommended their services to a friend with some challenging dogs. Due to Pam's expertise, my friend has been able to travel without worrying about her pups. I have not yet purchased a Shiba Inu puppy, but when I am ready, I won't hesitate to get a Royal Kennels puppy. In the many times I have visited their facilities, their dogs have been well socialized and well cared for. I know a number of people who have gotten a Royal Kennels puppy or adult dog, and they have all been very happy with their new family members.

The peace of mind I have when I leave my dogs with Pam is priceless. In the past, I have left my dogs at other kennels, and the experiences have never been without some issue, sometimes even serious problems. Even if everything seemed fine, the dogs would be afraid to return the next time I tried to leave them. But at Royal Kennels, my dogs are always happy when we get there, so I know it is a vacation for them as well. I have Flatcoated Retrievers, and they can be a lot of work. Pam, Dan and the staff are experienced with all types of dogs. They have seen it all, and nothing can faze them. There are a lot of great things about Royal Kennels, but for me it really comes down to the personal, attentive care that Pam provides. I know that Pam will follow my instructions for any special meals or supplements or medications. I know my dogs will enjoy the freedom to hang out on the inside or the outside area of their run, as they choose. I know that Pam and the Royal Kennels staff will play with my dogs and give them love and attention, without me having to sign up for it as a separate line item on the bill. And unlike what can happen when I leave them at home with a house sitter or family, I do not have to worry that someone will accidentally leave my gate or door open and my dogs will get out! Pam took care of my heartworm positive rescue dog when she was still on crate rest (that dog is now 13 years old and still stays at Royal), and more recently, my 9 yr old cancer patient. Our vet said it would be ok to leave him as long as he enjoyed going there. Pam is one of his favorite people and he always has a good time at Royal Kennels, so we were able to go on a long-planned trip without worrying about how he would do. I have learned over the years that nothing can compare to leaving my dogs at a privately owned kennel where the owners reside on the premises. If there is a concern, I do not want to have to deal with an employee or a manager who has no responsibility or authority and is only doing what they get paid for. I want someone who treats me and my dogs like family (only better, because they won't forget to latch the gate!). And that's why when I go out of town, my dogs go to Royal Kennels.
