Churros Don Abel has been on my list for some time, and we finally came last night! We were…read moredeciding between #1 (10 churros) and #4 (6 churros with strawberry, condensed milk, and caramel). We opted for 6 churros because it was just two of us. The churros were so good - crunchy texture, great size, and perfectly sweet. The sauce, which we asked for on the side, was good but sometimes too sweet - so I'm glad we asked for it separately. It looks like cost has gone up recently. It took some time to order since they make it fresh, which was fine for us. There was a crowd of about 5-6 other parties waiting on the street for their churros - so you'll be in good company! Next time, we said we'd order #1 with a group of 4. I love churros as much as the next person, but I think I need to share them with more people!

The churros here were pretty good, but meant to be shared. I visited this food truck looking for…read moresome dessert after lunch and I had a relatively good experience here. This food truck is on the street, but there's ample free parking at a nearby lot and other food trucks sharing the same curb and area. I ordered 5 regular churros for $8 which was a bit pricey, but not too bad. This portion size I got was not on the menu and I inquired about these since I was looking for the lowest quantity of churros as possible. The churros were overall good and tasty. Crunchy, sugary, and fried nicely. They did taste a bit oily though, but it is a fried treat after all. These were still too much for one person though. If I had to try it again, I would want to get some sauce since I felt like it was missing those as well as bring another person to share them with.

I really wish I could give more than 3 stars just cause you can't go wrong with churros!…read more But in my opinion the flavor was lacking. The churro is very nicely coated with cinnamon and sugar, but having had many churros in my lifetime, the dough is just as important. The dough didn't really taste like much. Just flour. I also think it tasted a little undercooked. I dont usually like much on my churros, but I saw that they offered cajeta. I love, love, love cajeta. Unfortunately it tasted more like a caramel or Dulce de leche, not cajeta. Cajeta for those who know has a very distinct flavor. This was not it. I did order one of those Cafe de olla iced coffees. Now that on the other hand was delicious! 10/10! The best iced Cafe de olla I've had so far. This has a hint of chocolate, tasted like a Mexican chocolate I love so much CarlosV, like a Mexican chocolate cookie. If you know these flavors, you know it's delicious! If it was just their coffee I was rating I would definitely give them five stars. The price is is a bit high. I just want to point out that they were here in Venice for a festival, they are usually located in Whittier and many times trucks do raise their prices for events. I'm not at all sure if that was the case here but I paid $25 for 5 churros, a 2oz side of cajeta and the iced coffee. The cajeta was $3 alone. That's a little high in my opinion. Though the coffee was worth every penny! Service was great!

I wished the pineapple pieces were a little larger. Service was quick and efficient. They did have a few rags next to the dishes (as seen on my video) which was minus a star for me. I know it's street food and that's expected. Overall good tacos. Street parking only. Good thing is they have a few tables next to them to sit and eat.

Parking was fairly easy, I found street parking. Tacos were solid. Al pastor tacos, 7.8/10: Meat itself was spot on. Smoky, flavorful, wasn't overcooked. Paired super well with the piece of pineapple on top. The tortillas though were a bit soggy from all the juices, it didn't hold up well. Wish they let me customize the salsa, since the guy put a large scoop on. That being said, I did like how the tortilla soaked up the juices and marinade from the pork. Maybe it soaked it up a little too well. Salsa also was a bit watery. Asada Mulitas, 6/10: The melty oaxaca cheese they used was great with the asada. The asada itself was tasty and they did not skimp on the amount. Add some chili and salsa verde on top for a little kick. At other spots in the LA area, I've gotten mulitas that have been assembled and put back on the grill for a crispier tortilla. But this spot didn't do that, so I was missing on that texture experience. I have the same criticism about the soggy tortilla. Really brings down the score for me. Horchata, 8.5/10: I thought their horchata was superb. Tasted the rice, cinammon, and milk. It wasn't watered down at all. It was a great drink to offset the chilis and grilled onions.
