love this Y been a member since 2006..friendly staff and safe place to workout...many thanks to the staff.

Very clean facility. Staff welcoming and friendly- and able to help if you have questions .! I love it .!

I had a similar experience as Eli. c a lot of the staff are very kind but a few of them are just HORRIBLE I got kicked out for going underwater in the hot tub can you believe that. The swim instructor is VERY rude I got yelled at for playing Marco Polo with my children. I'm very disappointed. Do better read more

Foley Alabama is home to a YMCA, I love the place excluding the pool. The life guard named Travis, is terrible. The start of the membership during August was great. Me and my friends had fun and swam a lot. But one day, I was the only one with goggles so of course all my friends were trying to have ahold of it. I don't need the goggles so I was passing it along my friends. I got them back, and my friends wanted them, and as I a joke I hid it behind my back, as obvious as day. And Travis walked up pissed for us lying to him somehow, and got us kicked out for the day. Ever since around September Travis has been trying to find ways to kick me and my friends out. One of the ways was splashing too much while trying to swim, I'm not a good swimmer at all, and the so called waves I was making was small ripples. Today May 20 2026 is the last day of my Membership (Thankfully) and I was trying to teach myself to dive at the deep-end. I was following my friends lead and one of the "dives" ended up as front flip because I was too wimpy to go through with the full dive. My friends informed me I did a flip and I was amazed at myself so I did it again and again. And while doing so across the pool, Travis at a tone I was simply never going to hear said "no flips" it is a rule, rule #6 but I didn't know that, and there was no possible way to hear Travis from that far, he radioed a kind lady And had me out for the day. read more

Was wanting to like this Gym since it was near my location.....but No evening classes here.... so won't be my pick.

The Busy Town staff feeds all the kids a lot of candy, chips and well as eats while on the job. I am a mother and this behavior is unacceptable what about allergies and or diet restrictions for that child but is not even asked at drop off. read more

Filthy locker room. Lifeguard has a full set of clothes on. How is she supposed to save anyone????? Half the time the pool is closed Hot tub filthy as well and definitely non-Christian music blaring. Crazy read more

New clean, great equipment and super staff-help. Not a place for those looking to "be seen " but rather a place to work out in a family oriented gym & pool. read more

I have been going to the pool regularly and it is a very large pool with good equipment to use in the pool. There is a hot tub and also a sauna. The people in the pool are very friendly and I have met some nice ladies there. The indoor gym looks huge and people seem to like it as I see many of the same people there when I come to the pool. The locker room is a little crowded but just fine otherwise. The monthly pass was only $70 for a visitor so very reasonable. Great place to go if you are traveling to this area and want to work out. read more

I am so happy it is finally open again. The revamping of the facility looks amazing. The building is clean. It looks great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are getting more group exercise classes in and are getting set back up for youth stuff again. read more

incredibly disappointed in this allegedly Christian organization. I recently had open heart surgery and I called to suspend my membership and I was told that they will not do that but they will cancel my membership and charge me an additional month for their trouble of canceling me. in addition if I wanted to rejoin after my rehab is complete I would have to pay another membership fee. Great service Snook YMCA. read more

I don't know why this Y has such a low review. It almost steered me away, but my coworker highly recommended it for working out while we're in town. There isn't much curb appeal - it looks old with the corrugated steel facade, but it is pretty huge inside and has a 2nd floor too! I love that the heavy lifting part is separated from the cardio machines. Some equipment are older but a lot are new. The variety is great for sure! Platform for deadlifting and Olympic racks for powerlifting. There's squat racks too and tons of dumbbells. I love it. Powerlifter's dream come true. No frills. Clean enough. Cause use a stronger air conditioning system though. Oh, and it comes with an indoor track: 17 laps = 1 mile. I got the week pass, I will be back :) Maybe I'll check out the classes. The list is very modern with Pilates and Les Mills offerings! read more

We are new to the area so we were looking for a place to walk and adjust to this High humidity here . We went to this ymca for a tour yesterday didn't know what to expect. The people working there extremely friendly and so kind explained everything we needed to know very thoroughly. I'm not sure the age of this facility and it is rather small so we understood the work out equipment in center of small walk path . But this facility is in dire need for updates and cleaning everywhere every room. For the cost of membership you would think they would at least update the flooring and paint and clean ! the equipment is fine it's the building and pools so outdated needs painted new flooring and cleaned thoroughly. read more

Equipment-wise, it's about what you would expect from a small-town Y...older equipment that doesn't get maintenance very often (especially the cardio). They have recently started staying open until 9pm. Hand sanitation stations don't usually have soap in them. Many of the lockers are rusted out. If you want to bring a guest, bring your wallet. $10 a visit. I had my son in town for a week and they told me he would have to be teen certified to do anything besides walk the track. When I asked what it would take to get him certified, they told me I would have to make an appointment, and then pay $10 each time he comes with me. I understand the safety issues involved with kids around a gym, but this seems a bit much. read more

It should be noted that most of the equipment has been upgraded since Tyler's previous review. There are ample free weights and squat racks for more serious lifters. The cardio equipment is on par with most every other commercial chain gym out there. Most importantly for us; the staff loves our son and takes great care of him while we get our fitness on. He looks forward to seeing "Ms. Joetta" as frequently as possible. When comparing the facility to some of the recently renovated Birmingham YMCAs aesthetically, the big city wins hands down; but for a solid work out with good people, the Snook YMCA gives us what we need. read more

Great place to work out in Foly Alabama. Up to date or new equipment, friendly and helpful staff. The facility is clean and hours are great read more

After moving back to the area and re-joining this Y (mostly for the pool) I can say there has been a profound difference. Most of the staff has changed and the environment is much much friendlier. They have classes (spin, body pump, chair aerobics) going all the time for people who want them and there just seems to be much less congestion in the general gym area than before. Everything is also much cleaner and better maintained. I'm much happier with my experience here this time around please keep up the good work. read more

The business office was very rude in regards to adding someone to our account and not one but on two occasions in the last few weeks we have left an 8 month old in their care while working out and he has come home with a knot on his head and a bruised ear. I would shop around before considering a membership here. read more

Not a huge fan. Went for awhile and the equipment was good. No complaints about that but the child center their while i was picking up my niece the caregiver mentioned how chubby my fingers are (and I'm not saying they aren't) but I thought that was very inappropriate and it still hurt my feelings. Kind of why people go to the gym you know. Other than that incident everything is really fine. If you plan to go one time or bring a friend its $10 dollars per visit, and their is no basketball court. read more

This YMCA location has always been friendly to me and my husband. We are both military and only go home on leave. They allow us to work out on vacation for free and provide a clean environment with mostly new work out equipment. There is a lack of equipment you could say but it depends on the time of day you go. My husband competes and is IFPA and we find this gym to be very nice. read more

This YMCA is for the whole family. Kids Getting Fit is a great program for overweight kids and it is free. The classes for members are varied and the instructors very well qualified. The equipment is being taken care of as needed and is due to be upgraded. I love the Spin Class, Zumba and there are even programs for seniors in Silver Sneakers. read more

I joined this YMCA to get a discount on my child's summer camp & with the hopes that I would start working out again. He went to the summer camp there for four years. I spoke to someone who volunteered in the children's after care program. She said that the kid's program was poorly managed and the kids were so unruly that she had to stop. Between that and the fact that my son was so terrified of going back that we finally sent him to a different summer camp this year. Since I haven't been there in over year, I wanted to cancel my membership. They make you come in to fill out a form. Ridiculous!!! read more

Extremely rude! I called yesterday to ask about a day pass as I am in town visiting my grandma and like to use the treadmill for my 10k practice. A young man answered and told me the price was 10 dollars so I drove to the Y this morning only for the woman at the front desk to inform me that they don't give out day passes to just anyone "off the street" now I have no idea why she felt it appropriate to talk to me in such a manner but I have never been treated like that at a gym and I definitely expected more from the YMCA as I am a 20 year old college student in California and am certainly not quote "off the street." The woman at the counter was obviously politically incorrect and outdated. The entire experience was rude, crude, and unattractive. Thanks YMCA! Certainly helping communities and 'encouraging healthy lifestyles'! read more

Poor equipment and general facility. How can they not have a basketball court ? Staff and management was not friendly when my family attempted to visit and have a look around. Need to level this building and start over with new equipment and new attitudes. read more
