The kids, while playing games worked on specific skills. She came home exhausted every day, but couldn't wait to get back out there the next day. There is ample room for running around the structures. There is a paved walkway that kids can also bike on. There is no bathroom. And you can't access the YMCA at all from this side. Not sure they'd let you use theirs anyway. There is no parking lot. The YMCA lot doesn't allow for park parking. You have to park on the street. There is usually close parking available. There is no shade. It gets really hot during the summer. All in all, I like the park for its age range. I wish there was a bathroom. We've had to leave early a bunch of times because we need a bathroom.

The amount of touches that the.players experience is far above what I can provide at a regular team practice. The instructors/coaches seem to be interested in providing a good lesson plan.and they also give great ideas for what drills can be used during a regular practice session. The facility is bright and clean providing a great learning environment for development of first touch skills which is so important at upper levels of play. We will continue to come here and train on off days.

It's nice because you put your paddles up, wait like five min, then you play a game and only have to wait another five min or so before you play again. It's nice to keep playing with a random selection of people. Typically my wife and I will split up the teams since we're not as good as the average player here. The only downside to shoreline is that you can't indicate your level, so it's kind of luck of the draw unless you coordinate who you want to play with. Technically they do have these magnets you can put down to show the level but no one uses it. Whenever I go elsewhere I try to find another court like shoreline. Most pickleball courts have the problem of being either too crowded, or not crowded enough (people are only playing with their friends, no rotation). For example green lake is ridiculously crowded.

Shoreline Park is located in a cluster of public facilities including the Shoreline Stadium,…read moreShoreline Center, Spartan Recreation Center, the Senior Activity Center, etc. I have utilized the soccer fields for soccer and water polo (the part of our practices conducted on land). Following the finishing of the tearing down of Shoreline Pool in 2022, the parking that was previously designated for the pool has opened up to those using the park. There are trails through the woods with benches speckled throughout the trees, a small play area, and trails behind the fence above the soccer fields. In addition to soccer fields there are tennis/pickle ball courts. A restroom building with an exterior water fountain is located towards the end of one of the soccer fields. During the summer months and the autumn the fields can be in high use. When I ran track and field for Shorewood High School in the Spring of 2007, some of the more adventurous runners would run some of the trails for warm-up. The Springs of 2009 and 2010 we used the fields for dryland training in water polo in addition to our in-the-water training at the pool. All three years, the park was quieter in the spring than the summer/autumn seasons.

And then there are the people with the "walkers". Mainly small kids but the walkers are left on the ice wherever people seem to feel like leaving them. Definitely will *not* be skating there again.

You can park in the school's parking lot or on the road that goes right up to the courts. If you park in the parking lot, you will have to walk behind the school to get to them. There are 2 of them, and they are both open to the public. They're in excellent condition (no cracks or bumps), which makes for an enjoyable experience. The space doesn't get much shade except for in the evening, so be prepared. Fencing is all around the courts, and the doors don't have locks so they are always available. These courts have always been my go-to because they are almost always empty and easy to get to. If you want to play tennis but don't want to wait half an hour for a court, the LFP courts are the place to go.
