We chose to eat here for our 10 year anniversary after a friend casually mentioned it was really…read moregood one day. Instantly seeing the place I knew we made the right choice. It is in a historic house that is so gorgeous and charming. Let me tell you it far exceeded our expectations. The service was great. Our server knew the menu well and gave excellent recommendations. The owner even popped in for some conversation and was extremely nice. All of that would have made us come back, but the food was *chef's kiss* soooo good! My husband got the meatloaf and I got the crab cakes. We also got fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and took home dessert- peanut butter pie and banana pudding. The food was obviously using excellent, fresh ingredients and there was so much care and thought put into the pairings of flavors and textures with each dish. The general Tso's brussels sprouts blew my mind. Each side and main was a work of art itself. When I took my first bite of the collard greens I was transported to my Grannie's kitchen. They somehow manage to completely nail Southern staples and also throw in some creative twists here and there as well. This place is such a gem and definitely worth making a special trip to Dayton just to go here. We will definitely be back. This made for the perfect magical night. We still can't stop talking about it. Thank you so much to the owner for wishing us Happy Anniversary and your kindness! It seriously made our night absolutely unforgettable.

Absolutely great place. The food was outstanding and look of the place was great. It's an old house…read moreand it looks like it. Such a cool little historical building. The service was great and some by the owner mostly. We had a nice chat with the owner who's quite the traveler. Even has some family in my home state of New Jersey. Our order was a simple lunch. I had the turkey avocado club and the Mrs had a dill chicken salad sandwich. Both were outstanding and the fried green tomatoes were the best we've had. I didn't ask but it seemed the fries were hand cut. I definitely recommend a stop there.

My wife and I had been to this ice cream store before and it was good. They don't make their own,…read morebut they serve Blue Bell, which is a premium brand from Texas. Their selection was excellent, and what makes this place special is they have a variety of ways to serve it! Of course you have your normal cups and cones, including delicious waffle cones, but they also bake cookies (in house) and make ice cream sandwiches with them. They also offer shakes/malts. We went there with our neighbors a few nights ago and the owner was working. This man knows how to run a business! First of all, he does not skimp on servings. I ordered a 16oz shake and what I got was a 24oz because he "accidentally" made too much. My neighbors ordered a couple of ice cream sandwiches and he had to mold the cookies around a heap of ice cream so it would fit into the container! My other neighbors ordered a waffle cone and he says it always made him mad to get a cone that didn't have ice cream packed into it, so know, if you order a cone you will have ice cream top to bottom! Lastly, I heard him talking about his business practices. He said, if you make it onto his deck before closing he will serve you! The other night, a Sunday, his closing time was 6pm and he had a line. He served until it was exhausted and was there until 8pm! THAT is the way to run a business folks. I do wish they'd make their ice cream in house, because I'm sure this guy would make some incredible product, but what he serves is good and the way he runs his business deserves patronage!

Cutest little ice cream shoppe. It offered quite a few flavors in addition to candies in the room…read moreas you enter the shop. The cookies were on display in a case by the ice cream to choose for ice cream sandwiches. They also of course offer shakes and scoops. The shoppe was the perfect little country place with a lovely outside sitting area. They serve Blue Bell ice cream and have an adorable cow outside for pictures. The girls working were very sweet and helpful.
