We got rid of the grass and planted perennial peanut ground cover a few years ago. Everything was going great until the weeds started to come through the ground cover. Something came up that my body was allergic to and I got red welts like I never saw before. I saw a dermatologist because it was so bad and he just told me that it was a contact dermatitis and gave me generic cream. So I couldn't weed anymore and my husband wound up weeding all the time. That was not the way we wanted to live. So, we selected a very life-like turf that has holes in the bottom and silica (sand) under and on top of the turf. And the compliment to the product (that has a 15 year warranty) is the FANTASTIC way the installers did their job (that has a 2 year warranty - Hi Lazaro & crew!!!!!!). They put turf around pipes and the curves of the raised beds! Wow - we just LOVE LOVE LOVE these guys. Yvette, our salesperson knew her stuff and had a wealth of samples - which helped us make a selection and buy the turf quickly, with confidence about our choice. Yvette knew her stuff without having to check brochures or make phone calls. She just helped us feel great about our purchase. Vanessa, the Assistant Project Manager, emailed and called me to keep me in the know. I wish every company worked so smoothly. In ONE DAY we went from a weedy backyard to a freaken beautiful space. Of course our dog thinks its too nice to use - she's enjoying our pavers as her bathroom, which will stop via leashed walks in our backyard! (NOTE: It took our pug only 1 day to go on the turf - unleashed!) Freaken beautiful space. Look at the pics and you tell me. Those plumeria trees that we grew from seed have breathing room. At first, everything looked great and we were happy with the initial installation. However, we ran into a drainage issue that seemed to stem from the turf being installed too high. We paid an additional $500 to have it pulled back so French drains could be installed. Unfortunately, the communication throughout the process was extremely poor. Calls were not returned, and the few text responses we received were vague and at times came across as rude. When they finally came back to reinstall the turf, they used a strip that's clearly a different shade and didn't secure it properly--now it's lifting. Because of the communication issues and how disrespectful the interaction felt, we're hesitant to even contact them to fix it. The rest of the yard looks great, which is the most frustrating part--they had the ability to do a good job, but the customer experience and follow-through were deeply disappointing.
