I told her I wasn't a fan of icees because I grew up in Hawaii, where we have shaved ice. I described how the ice was so soft that it's almost like powder snow and is even creamy with toppings. She told me I really needed a try a snowball because in all the years I've come to New Orleans to eat it's an item that the locals love and one of the things I have to cross off my imaginary bucket list. I reluctantly agreed and we went to the Warehouse district and pulled up to Hansen's. She explained how nostalgic it was and how many celebrities have had Hansens. To my surprise snowballs are as soft as shaved ice from Hawaii! I really loved how there are so many flavor combinations. I'm not crazy about artificial flavors and was so happy to see Earl Grey tea and lavender! Such a grown-up flavor combination and that's what I ordered!
