They have an English menu but there aren't descriptions of what you're ordering so a google search can give you an idea of what the dish might be. This was the first location while visiting that our server didn't speak English, but he thoughtfully grabbed a customer who did to help us with the basics. Water is bottled and must be ordered. The large bottle is enough for a group and they'll ask you if you want it natural (room temperature) or cold. Bread and butter are also an item that you are charged for but are well worth the small charge. I ordered the chicken gizzards and the garlic beef. If you're squeamish about eating gizzards, get over it. These were magnificent, exceptionally tender, and perfectly seasoned (pairing perfectly with some bread to sop up the sauce). It's enough for two so feel free to share. I also got the garlic beef which is a garlic fans dream. It's a local beef steak thinly cut, covered in garlic and served with French fries and salad (a traditional accompaniment that seems odd but works). The perfect bite is a little bit of everything. You'll be happy. A great little spot that is a perfect local lunch And it's pretty cheap.

In a foreign country, This restaurant is a hidden gem, just off the beaten track. The owners are super friendly and very helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. The wine was great. Prices are very reasonable. If you are visiting the island, this restaurant is a definite destination. If we staying, we would return again. A wonderful atmosphere.

At least that was the case for the off season. They have a great selection of meat and seafood as well as some light vegetarian selections. The wine list is plentiful, the service attentive and of course we enjoyed our meals. I'd love to come back in the summer and during the day so I could see out to the water while eating. Full bar here too so whatever you choose to drink, you'll find here I'm sure.

So far the best of all orange juices I've had at any restaurant or cafe on Terceira Island. Also ate the vegetarian salad with chia seeds, beans, and chickpeas - yummy and pretty execution (are my photos). Additionally, ordered sweet potato fries -- they were cut like wavy chips. My companions tried the apple hamburger on the plate and the tuna in a can. Shockingly, the tuba was actually brought out in a can! It was the most expensive item that we ordered. My companion said it tasted good but weird execution, for sure. I tried the apple pie for dessert - was okay pie but not as great as other items I tried. Service was courteous and the staff spoke English. They accept credit cards.

The side salad did not look appetizing. For both entrees, total bill came to 20€! Totally worth the money. We were too full to try their desserts which looked delicious! Maybe next time!

For my meal I had their house burger, which had bacon, egg, cheese, lettuce, and sauce. It was pretty gooey, kinda messy to eat. Large. It came with fries which were indistinguishable from the most average french fries on the island. I got through my small bottle of water quickly and requested a second from my server. She never brought that; she was visibly busy doing non-server tasks. I definitely felt like I didn't really have her attention. I later saw on my receipt that I was charged for that second bottle of water. I don't think that if I'd gone back and addressed that it would have gone well.

You can also order tap beers and liquors at the kiosk, including several types of the locally-known Aguardente, a distilled spirit made from ?old? wine. I almost died getting half a glass down, but I'm sure it's a personal taste thing. We came here a couple times and although it wasn't our favorite pastelaria or hangout spot, we enjoyed a late evening refreshment at the outdoor tables in the plaza. It's highly recommended by locals so you may find it more remarkable than we did in summer 2017.
