Spent a few days in Lakeview for the Dark Sky Sanctuary week and this was the best meal I had. I've never thought of putting cream cheese on a jalapeno burger before, but it was a great choice. The fries were excellent and I could have inhaled another burger easily. Everyone was super friendly and the atmosphere was unique and a little nostalgic. I recommend if you're going through or staying in Lakeview. read more

Read the reviews and made the decision to stop. This place did not disappoint! Three different burgers were ordered and DEVOURED. Best burger we've had in a long time. Clean environment and quick service. Exactly what we needed as we travel through. read more

We stopped here on our way through and the burgers were deliscious. Highly recommends

Great burger, flurry & fries. Good service, friendly, good sense of humor staff! Will be back.

How is it that I don't have a review written for the Snack Shack in Lakeview? I have literally been going here for well over two decades. Great French fries and shakes. Burgers are the perfect grab and go lunch when we are passing through. I love this place! read more

Been there a few times after work when I didn't feel like cooking. Cute. Quaint. Good food. Friendly staff.

Still great after all these years. It's been 15 years and my back-then 83 year-old hunting buddy has moved on. But the burgers and shakes are still the best for 150 miles around... the owner is still beautiful and now even I'm beginning to think she's 6'6" tall. Fair warning, I'll be there Monday... and Tuesday... and Wednesday. Check it out for yourselves. read more

Great place to eat in Lakeview! I had the jalapeño popper burger and it was great! Super friendly people!

Driving through and decided to stop based on recent reviews! Thank you to everyone who's posted!!! It was everything and more...delicious burgers, cooked to order, crispy fries and outstanding service! It was our first experience here and will not be our last! read more

Oh my goodness! The best burger I have had in a long while. The French fries were crispy. The milkshake was amazing! The service was great and quick. The inside was small but nice set up. read more

You can tell this is a small town, they call people by name when they come in. Food was great, arrive was great!

The food quality is always fantastic! Great menu to choose from! The shakes are the best in town with so many options. Small inside diner area, not great for large families of 5+ to dine inside. read more

Good service happy faces and smiles every time I've gone great lunch deals and definitely the place to go I've you're in a rush middle of the road as price goes but I'll absolutely be back! Especially for a score flurry read more

Delicious burgers and an amazing setting! Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely return!

Stopped here on a drive from Lake Tahoe to Bend. Other yelpers reviews led us to this adorable little food venue. That plus a hankering for a yummy burger. The Snack Shack did not disappoint! Got two pepper jack burgers with fries for $17.00. Perfection. Two locals stopped in for a pair of Huckleberry shakes while I was waiting for our food. Looked delicious.... next time I'll try one of those too. read more

Average burgers. Impossibly slow service. It's takeout burger and fries, not table service with linens. read more

Friendly service. Great food! Had the bacon burger and it was a 10/10. Fries were some of the best I've ever had.

Best burgers, fries and gourmet shakes in a hundred miles. The Popper Burger with crisp bacon, jalapeno and cream cheese is just delicious and the chili burger made with homemade spicy chili is amazing. The hand-made real ice cream shakes come in over two dozen flavors to choose from. We tried mint chip, black razz, peanut butter, huckleberry and coffee bean mocha. The restaraunt is small but clean and tastefully decorated in a country litchen theme. The service was friendly and fast, and the facilities were neat and clean. read more

I think ive been saved! That burger was holier than thou. After 3 hours on the road we were guided by a powerful and spiritual force (actually by Yelp) to this heavenly gateway to nummyness! Friendly staff. Worth the stop. read more

Reliably good food and friendly staff. Consistent hours which is rare in Lakeview! A favorite after games and events.

Great chicken strips and shakes. Polite and excellent service. Perfect for a stop on the road but don't expect it to be like fast food although we were in and out in 35 mins right at lunchtime on a Saturday read more

This place was recommended to me by a local and it didn't disappoint! The jalapeño popper burger was the perfect combo of bacon, jalapeño and cream cheese and the burger was cooked perfectly. They are thin burgers but this one is definitely big enough to satisfy! The fry portion is very large and they taste very fresh and crispy. I also got the huckleberry shake at the recommendation of the staff and it was also very good. Highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Lakeview. read more

We stopped by on our way to the Red Woods, and this place was AMAZING! We loved the food and left really happy!

I have a fondness for this place as I spent a lot of time in Lakeview as a kid.. We were recently driving back through on a road trip to Las Vegas, and I told my husband we had to stop at the Snack Shack. I got the jalapeno popper burger and it was delicious, my husband is very picky when it comes to a good double cheeseburger and he loved it.. bonus was they allowed us to substitute deep fried mushrooms for fries. They only get four stars instead of five because they initially forgot my milkshake. read more

Seriously amazing food! HIGHLY recommend the jalapeño popper burger. Milkshakes are amazing too. Ate here almost every night while we stayed in Lakeview. Can't wait to eat here again! read more

This is my favorite place for lunch. Favorite items are the vanilla malts (shakes are an option too) and the thin fries. In fact, these are my favorite thin fries from anywhere. Yes, I know, they're just fries but when I make the exception to eat fries I prefer to eat them here. The burgers are good and so is the hot dog. Nothing exceptional but good. Prices are fair and food items include a choice of fries. I am still not sure why someone doesn't either 1) call out the order/name or 2) look for the customer when the order is ready. So I have to keep checking and then find out the order was ready and sitting there getting cold. So what are the pickup food rules? Customer service is sorely lacking. 4 stars for the food and 0 stars for lack of service. read more

I love this place. Burgers are genius, well cooked. Owner is a very nice lady, and gives a lot of young people a first opportunity to work. Did I say I love this place? read more

You could not pick a better place to eat in the town of Lakeview. The blue cheeseburger is the best thing I've heard in a long time. As for grilled onions and they were well done then I'm perfectly grilled. And then you get the curly fries that are super well done just right. This is a fantastic establishment, can't wait for my next visit! read more

Best milkshakes in town, hands down. It's always a toss up on which of our two favorite diners we go to. It usually comes down to whether or not I'm craving a chocolate malt. If so, Snack Shack it is! My favorite burger is the jalepeno, where they actually heat up the peppers on the grill before sliding them onto the burger. This little trick makes them much better than if they had just spooned them out of the jar. My fiance seems to order a different burger every time, but always cleans his basket no matter what he chose. We both prefer the curly fries over the thin regular fries, but they also have tots, steak/thick fries, and other fried goodies. read more

There are a number of places to get a burger in this small town of 2,300 population. Whenever I am hungry for a burger, I find myself heading for the Snack Shack. The food is always good. I am particularly fond of the Malibu Chicken sandwich, Yummy. I've always thought the french fries here are the best in town. The staff is always friendly. This is a rather good spot for a quick bite to eat. read more

The mushroom and Swiss was good. The meat was fresh. Could have used a few more mushrooms. My friend got his burger on sourdough for no extra charge. For lakeview this place is really good. read more

All in all they were really nice people, however I'm not sure who taught them food handling. Not only so they not wear gloves at all when they make your food, but you can find them scratching various places on their body, wiping hands on their aprons, pulling up their pants, and wiping a runny nose all while touching your food..pretty disgusting..please buy some gloves Its really easy read more

Great food. But, every time I go they put all the heavy burgers in one bag and my bun is totally smashed and just mush by the time I get home to eat it. read more

I trusted the reviews and advice of a local. Bullet proof, right? WRONG! You would think in a ranching community the local burger joint would use real meat rather than the frozen, pre formed, no flavor industrial crap. Seriously, just skip the snack shack for burgers. Just skip it. They will put anything on a burger...so "A" for creativity. Maybe that's where the other reviewers get the "tasty" idea. My "just give me a burger, any burger" family didn't even finish their burger. I was shocked since I'm usually the particular one. But! They did have an amazing selection of milkshakes! Didn't try one...I just don't want to only be negative. read more
