A great notary to have in the neighborhood. Fast, reliable and friendly plus affordable. I will happily use Serai at SMV again.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this location for fingerprinting. The employee who did my…read morefingerprints was shockingly unprofessional. She spent essentially the entire appointment on the phone having a loud personal conversation with friends, laughing and yelling with them while grabbing and positioning my hands to take my fingerprints. She barely made eye contact with me and seemed far more interested in her phone conversation than in actually doing her job. I left thinking that, as unpleasant and unprofessional as the experience was, at least the fingerprinting was done. I have now been informed that there was a problem with my scans and I have to get fingerprinted all over again. I obviously cannot prove that her complete lack of attention caused the problem, but it is very difficult not to question the connection. Fingerprinting is a job where getting an accurate scan is literally the point. If you cannot put down your phone and give the person in front of you your attention long enough to do that correctly, you should not be doing this job. This wasn't simply bad customer service. Her behavior was completely inappropriate for someone responsible for collecting fingerprints, and now I have to waste my time getting the entire thing done again. I absolutely do not trust this employee to take my fingerprints a second time, so I will be going to a different location for the reprint. Management seriously needs to address this employee's conduct.

I came to this location because all the Brooklyn locations were booked up until after the new…read moreyear--I was trying to make an appointment as soon as possible. My appointment was for 11:00 am but I got there really early (10:30 am). Both the waiting rooms were small--they seat approximately seven people. There was a lady who came in at the same time as me and she asked the people when their appointments were as she was trying to gauge how long the wait was. One guy said that his appointment was for 10:00 am so they were a half hour behind schedule. Also, they had people sign in but there was no one in front, they would just call your name from the back room. Occasionally, an employee would take a picture of the sign-in sheet. My name was called at around 11:10 am, which isn't bad considering other people were waiting for over 40 minutes. The actual process was quick and easy--you have to show your state ID (I paid ahead of time), give them your DOB, and enter your SSN#. After that, they do the fingerprinting. Once the fingerprint is finished, they take your picture (no smiling) and print out two receipts (one for you and one for your employer). The space is small with metal folding chairs. There's nothing esthetically pleasing about the place. Hopefully, I won't need fingerprinting done for a long time.

Shady place but nice people…read more As a company they're pathetic. The offer 0 customer service and no one to contact for help. It's all automated with the worse customer service voice over.

I had to get fingerprinted for employment purposes and after watching too many crime shows, I…read morecringed at the thought of ink on my hands. I took the elevator to the 4th floor which opened right into the small office and an unattended desk. So I walked into the adjacent waiting room since I was 10 minutes early for my appointment. The relatively empty white walls and signs instructing customers not to do this or touch that were uninviting. There are better ways to relay messages - tone and presentation. There were a group of immigrant women also waiting to be printed. I was disturbed by one of the male staffers who was obviously frustrated by the language barrier and losing patience with the group at 9 a.m. Thankfully, I was assisted by another staffer who was friendlier. The back room had three stations, which was a bit tight. Each employee is seated at a computer desk surrounded by a clear plastic barrier while you stand next to them. Be sure to pack light. I had a work tote bag and still struggled to maneuver in this space. No one gave me step-by-step instructions (i.e. fingerprints, stand back for a photo, and pay with a debit or credit card). Aside from having to rescan a few of my fingerprints, my appointment was quick and I was glad the experience was over.
