I saw Smusht often on DoorDash but stopped in for the first time yesterday for dessert. The shop is surprisingly roomy, with large tables in the front but also some smaller tables across from the ice cream case. I know they are well known for the ice cream sandwiches, but I just hate having to hold onto that sandwich and struggling to not get my hands all dirty, so I opted for a small size which comes with two scoops. The staff at the counter were so nice allowing the kids in my party try different flavors and giving suggestions. I love a fun and unique ice cream flavor, so I went with Honey Lavender and Lemon Poppy Seed. Both were so incredible! The lavender was not too floral-y and the honey flavor came through very clearly. The lemon was bright but creamy, not sour. The poppy seed added a nice crunchy texture. The ice cream was so smooth and airy, I was surprised I was able to finish both scoops! I'm really pleased to have found a great artisanal ice cream shop on Long Island. Stopped in on a whim and what a great idea it was! Husband got an ice cream Sammie and it was goozy and girthy. I got the brownie topped with ice cream and waffle cone pieces. Stopped in for dessert and wasn't disappointed! The ice cream flavors were delicious - I had the pieces of Guggenheim and my friend had the Cookie Monster, both in between two chocolate chip cookies. We didn't realize we could've added toppings to the smusht, and wish we had been offered that verbally when we ordered. Otherwise, they were a bit pricey for the size of sandwich, but nevertheless were an enjoyable dessert. Probably the coolest ice cream parlor in Port Washington NY!!! Everything is homemade there. The place was spotless and organized. The girl behind the counter offers a long or short version of their ice cream shop. The flavors are unique and delicious. They're known for their ice cream cookie sandwiches. The ice cream flavors are listed on the wall, served alongside a well branded popular coffee brand and a local tea shop brand. There's also art work on the walls for sale by local artists. Came here for the first time yesterday. This place is amazing!! I tried the cereal milk ice cream (amazing) but decided to do a brownie (so soft, moist and clearly home made) and rainbow cookie icecream on top. OMG it was amazing. I can't wait to go back. My friend ordered chocolate oreo icecream in between 2 m&m cookies and she loved it too. I noticed that they had vegan icecream too. My friend who lives in the area said that the owner is very involved in the community and is constantly making donations. The employees were super nice. I walked into a new ice cream shop with my daughter because she was begging me to try. I smiled and said of course. We walked in and this young man working there was such a friendly man. I took a good look and so did my daughter and we both got small sized "Chocolate Fudge Brownie". This was absolutely delicious and one of the best ice cream flavors I've ever had in my life. My daughter also enjoyed this place a lot and we both want to come back. Such a fun, delicious sweet treat to enjoy for the summer! I frequently drove by this very colorful ice cream shop and decided to stop by Saturday afternoon. There was available street parking right in front of the shop. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the kind staff and was told if I needed any help or wanted to sample they were ready to help! The store itself is very spacious, especially their second level floor which has many seating tables and a free PAC-MAN arcade game! It's colorful, bright and clean which I love! They also sold fun merchandise such as colorful T-shirts. Now onto the sweet stuff! They have their most popular menu which is Custom Create your own ice cream sandwich. I live in Port Washington and we have been customers of Smusht ice cream store for as long as it opened. The ice cream taste is like no other. The ice cream has a creamy, wonderful homemade flavor and quality, and even more delicious when it when it starts to melt. . It's creamy and it's so delicious. The store has a wonderful upstairs space with two old-fashioned smaller video games for kids and board games. It's a nice place that a family could go and spend some time. We always go after our Landmark kids show performances or after a library or school event for a treat. . I love the creative flavors. They have a PRIDE flavor that's rainbow and we love some of their specialty flavors like lavender as well as Hudson's chocolate Oreo. They have gluten-free flavors and during Girl Scout cookie season they make flavors made with Girl Scout cookies, which is truly adorable. SMUSHT is a business located in Port Washington and they are always represented at so many community events. You always see them with their cart at our street promenade night when the town streets close down for a street wide open air restaurant night with live music. SMUSHT has become a staple as well as a generous supporter of so many Port Washington and TONH events. I can't say enough about the management; so thoughtful and present in the community, always supporting different organizations events in their store. Very sweet staff and the posters on the wall made me feel very welcome as a queer person and as a person who has sensory issues. The food was delicious, loved the upstairs seating and the decor was beautiful. I also enjoyed the privacy of the bathroom and how it felt like my own home. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. Port Washington is a gorgeous and welcoming town where I could see myself living especially with food as delicious as in this warm place being right around the corner. Mom of an allergy child here - when I saw that Smusht has vegan & gluten free options, I was excited to know that there was a chance my little one could enjoy this treat. I inquired about the ingredients of the vegan ice creams, ensuring they didn't have wheat, soy or corn as ingredients, and the gentleman who I believe was the owner was very helpful and diligent to browse the ingredient lists. Unfortunately it turns out they did contain these allergens but I'm giving 5 stars for the effort that was given. No way a child can eat this unless they get a smaller one but even still you're going to have it dripping all over the place and when you take a bite it all comes out the other end.
