Why are these places in business? I just paid over $8 for a cup of basically peanut butter, bananas and strawberries. If you don't own a blender and are desperate for a smoothie I suppose I can understand but this is outrageous. Not to mention, the smoothie I bought stated it has dates and nonfat milk. It did not say anything else about those ingredients but I then saw the worker putting some kind of powder in the smoothie. When I asked what it was she said it was date powder and milk powder. I absolutely love smoothie king, but the one closest to me is extremely slow. I was the first customer in 25min after they opened and I've been waiting 20+min for two of their new bowls. Other customers have slowly trickled in over that time and the constant stopping in the middle of preparing one order to go take other customer orders is insane. I don't blame the single employee who is here but this has to be directed by something taught by management. A couple of other customer orders have been completed before mine. I had never gone to smoothie king until my Daughter started working there. Our family would order almost everyday spending $20-$40 at a time. There was a manager change in the midst of her employment that was not a good thing. She was a very negative person. My daughter started to then hate work. Once she quit, on good terms because of school and sports, they told her she could come back at anytime. We would still go in and spend money there pretty much everyday until the manager started accusing everyone of stealing. She then told my daughter she was not welcome back and could no longer come into the store as a customer. Smoothies def we're not tasting very good anymore in the end. I wasn't going to leave a review, but after reading other reviews I felt that I should. When I walked in, they greeted us, and I actually thought 4 employees was a lot. However, within minutes the place filled with customers. We all got our smoothies quickly, and the staff was very helpful. My smoothie was filled perfectly and tasted great. We walked in at 8:30 and I have 3 customers a head of me and we got our smoothies after 9:00 PM, the reason why is because the employee was very busy with an another employee from Chick-fil-a trading food with smoothies for FREE and they didn't pay attention to the customers, also the sink water was running the whole time while I was there , I noticed because I own a restaurant and I know it cost the owner or the company. Mokena smoothie king is not only expensive but ran by kids. They don't tell you about any specials going on and always forget what you're telling them. I asked for no milk and of course they put milk in my smoothy. I even went as far as explaining I have a dairy allergy. They just don't care! that's the bottom line. Staff turn around is also high. I would say do yourself a favor and visit nutrition hub instead. Way better!!! This store should be shut down or get some adult supervision. Super slow service as well. read more

Takes 10+ mins to get 1 smoothie. I've been in here multiple times and it always seems like they're under staffed and cant accommodate more than 2 people ordering at a time in a timely manner. I've had my cup filled short about an inch, I've had them forget to put enhancements in that I paid for. Not to mention the prices are pretty high especially when you're getting low quality service.
