I live around the corner when in Louisville, and my daughter and I frequent Smoothie King despite having the ingredients and appliances to make them at home. Their smoothies are SO GOOD! My go to is the Angel Food Light + protein and blueberries. A staff member recommended that once and it is extraordinary! The staff here tends to be younger, but they are all on top of orders, friendly, and great with recommendations. Not really a place to dine it, but the location is super convenient! Pro tip: park a block away on the street to avoid paying for parking. They do ticket! read more

I've been a fan of the Highlands Smoothie King for years, have frequented here many times. Their new flavor Dark Chocolate Banana is so good! I like their size variety, their Diet Down and Fiber enhancements, and their zero sugar drinks. Always a good spot to enhance a fitness day! read more

As I sat here drinking my high protein mocha almond smoothie, every time I detected a small bit of a solid of some sort in my sip, I found myself praying it wasn't a fruit fly. Because there were a ton of them flying around and chilling out on the counter window. Yes, I know the place is filled with fruit. Well, so is my home but you won't get swarmed by gnats at any point if you drop by for a cool drink. Whenever I go to buy bananas or plantains or any produce that might sit out in the open for more than 12 hours, I get the little plastic red apples and ACV queued up before the produce even thinks about arriving because I don't want any trouble and I know how this species can be. Speaking of species, there were actually two species of fly buzzing about. A common house fly was zipping around all over the place. Anyway, no one was out front when I arrived. Luckily I'm not a thief because I could've easily and quickly swiped the few dollars and change that were sitting on the counter behind the register. There was a lot of running back and forth between the front area and back room by two employees before I was finally acknowledged. Not sure what was going on. Finally, my order was taken after I awkwardly started giving it even though I wasn't asked what I'd like to order. But an employee did go and stand behind the register and lay staring eyes upon me, so I took that as the signal to speak. The same employee, after I gave my order, asked me in a small, nearly inaudible voice (it was very quiet in the place) if I wanted cold brew or espresso. By my request, she repeated the question and I strained to hear. The floor looked pretty dirty (needing a mop) but it was near closing time so maybe not time yet for mopping. A young man did appear from the back and start sweeping. I took photos but am not going to post them all because I have no personal vendetta with this business or its ownership. I know it's probably not their fault that so many things need attention here. You hire and train people and expect them to ensure that things are right. Happy to share the photos privately with management. The smoothie tasted ok. Pretty good. I'll probably go to a different Smoothie King location next time, though. read more

My husband & I like stopping here to grab smoothie in the morning after the gym. I order using the app & they are almost always ready on our arrival. Smoothie King has a great rewards program & I enjoy tracking my progress in the app. This location has a parking lot behind the building off of Sherwood Avenue. Main areas are clean & friendly staff. read more

Asking customer service department to fix isn't going to change anything when the Rewards App is trash. Suggested ways where the app can be better for user interface and convenience but I doubt anything is going to change anyway. I've been using the app for a few years and it was better back. Why am I complaining now? The length of the Rewards gets shorter and shorter with each use and you can't even stack (example photo is a lie, you can only apply 1 reward per transaction) any of the points you accumulate throughout your use. Take other food apps for example where you have a Rewards system that you can use to stack and have actual benefits. SK is a million dollar company that tries to save every penny it can with the lamest Rewards system. The employees are great and not blaming them at all, but maybe treat them (higher salary) and customers (higher paid smoothie chefs = better smoothie quality) better. read more

Always had fast service at this location. Good quality and have always gotten my order right when ordering online

I usually go to this smoothie king since it's the closest and they usually never disappoint however last Friday I ordered an Angel Food and it was way too sweet and tasted like melted strawberry ice cream. Otherwise, the staff here are super friendly and are quick with the smoothies. The drink taste may differ depending on who makes it though :( read more

Drive through can be slow at times. Drinks are filling but some taste chalky. I ordered the biggest drink they had and I was not prepared for how big the drink truly is. Probably more than anyone needs at one time. I can make a similar smoothie at home for much cheaper but the convenience of fresh food on the go is so nice. read more

Smoothie King - Definitely larger than expected but so filling! - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Louisville, Kentucky

Smoothies have become my somewhat-healthy version of fast food. And I finally got to try Smoothie King, which is near to where I live, on Bardstown Road. I had a few minutes to spare, so I thought I'd duck in before running other errands. And I was immediately taken aback by the number of people waiting for smoothies. A handful of people sat around like they had been there for a bit. But while that was somewhat distressing, it was evident that the clerk behind the counter was working as hard as she could to get everyone's smoothies out. And she remained polite and attentive throughout it. Poor girl needed some help. Hopefully this was just a bad day and not indicative of the usual. After about 10 minutes, my smoothie was ready. And it hit the spot. I got one of the banana smoothies. It was on the thicker side, like I like smoothies. And I appreciate that the menu points out which smoothies are good for meal replacement. I'll be back the next time a smoothie craving hits. read more

I go to SK every freaking single day, I spend hundreds of dollars a month. Money I don't have, but I love the Mango Ginger Smoothie. 1st of all the app SUCKS BALLS, I normally order online and pick up, but this shitty app keeps saying something went wrong, clear cart. So I had no choice but to go in the store and order, which took freaking FOREVER. So, the person making my 2 smoothies did not read the print out correctly and only put enough ingredients to make a 32oz smoothie. He apparently cannot read and did not see that I ordered a 32oz and a 20oz Mango Ginger. Instead of this dumb ass going ahead and blending up the 32oz and started making another 20oz mango ginger, this Einstein Smoothie King employee started adding more ingredients to the blender. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt, maybe it will be ok. But then after the smoothies finished blending, he waited another 5mins before pouring them into cups. I was running late by this time to pick up my daughter. I left quickly, but I tell you what, that was the most disgusting Mango Ginger I have ever tasted. I threw them both out. SMOOTHIE KING YOU OWN ME A 32OZ AND A 20OZ SMOOTHIE. THIS NEEDS TO BE AVAILABLE IN MY REWARDS ASAP. MAKE THIS HAPPEN OR I AM DONE WITH SMOOTHIE KING. I WORK HARD EVERYDAY FOR MY LITTLE BIT OF MONEY AND I MAKE A CHOICE TO GO TO SMOOTHIE EVERYDAY, BUT THIS IS BS. I CAN EASILY GO TO TROPICAL SMOOTHIE WHICH IS 3MINS FROM MY HOUSE INSTEAD I DRIVE 20MINS FOR THIS CRAP..I NEED COMPENSATION. PS. By the way I am not in CA, I live in Louisville KY. read more

B and I frequent this Smoothie King location, as we often opt for smoothies for dinner. This location is always clean, quick, and easy. There's a large menu, with lots of options. You can choose from fruity blends, fitness blends (with added protein), slim blends (with added weight loss supplements), etc. There's something for everyone. We sometimes make smoothies at home, but honestly Smoothie King is always better. Plus, it's way more convenient than shopping for tons of ingredients and dirtying a blender. If you're looking for a (semi-) healthy fast food option, Smoothie King is a great spot! read more

Oh Smoothie King. My boyfriend goes more than I do, but mainly just for a C4 pre-workout drink. I've gotten a few different smoothies there that are pretty good, one being the Immunity Builder, and the other being a Veggie Lemon Ginger Spinach. They are always consistent with their smoothies, and they have some great add-ins. Different protein powders, probiotic powders, etc. The more add-ins the thicker the smoothie. One thing I don't like is that some of their smoothies have added sugar...which isn't necessarily a problem, but more so the fact that they don't inform you that there is a sugar free option. If a friend/former employee hadn't of informed me, I wouldn't have known to ask. Even though Smoothie King isn't part of the "juice bar" trend, most people don't know that sugar has been added. I really like going here, especially on Fridays! They have a deal for a $5 32 oz. smoothie which is a steal. read more

Dear Smoothie King, 9 bucks for a kids size + a 'small' smoothie? You've got to be kidding me. How about making your gigantic 'small' smoothie fit the description and offer it to me at half the price. OR, make it WORTH the price by...no. I take that back. No small drink is worth 5+ buck without alcohol or service at Jack Rabbit Slims. You know you're essentially feeding me smooshed fruit, right? Never again. I understand you are positioning yourself at that uber-trendy Breckenridge/Shelbyville/Frankfort Ave location vying for an upscale crowd. I hope that works out for you. I was a little hesitant to go to this location after reading the reviews about the customer service but I went anyway as it is closest to my office. I was pleasantly surprised! The employee was extremely friendly and very patient when helping me choose the right smoothie. I picked the Island Impact smoothie and added strawberries, per her suggestion, and it was delicious. In terms of pricing, Smoothie King is somewhat pricey but if you are aware of this and don't mind, then its definitely a good place to get your smoothie fix. read more

Jamba Juice's closest locations are in Illinois and my hometown is waaaay behind the smoothie curve. UPDATE 4/13/2013: Jamba Juice is in downtown Louisville, long live real fruit smoothies! As such, Smoothie King is your only option when your cells cry out for some antioxidant berry love. I love this Smoothie King. I go there nearly every weekday. Great service when I call ahead to avoid the long wait typical for this location. Usually very friendly.

Every time I go into this location the employees are rude. As someone who works in the food industry, I realize that 50% of the experience is how you reflect on customers. Be friendly and smile! I don't know how you expect to get any tips when you aren't nice and act like the customers are a burden on you. I bought a strawberry and banana smoothie. The taste was fine but I did not know that they did not use actual fruit which was very odd, instead they use liquid flavoring from bottles.
