Got a coupon for a special at Smoothie King so headed to this location on a rainy Tuesday. It's located by in a row of restaurants along 19th street in the Heights and plenty of parking space. It's a pretty big store to be honest. There's ample seating area but only with tables and no chairs. Various products were on display and a big menu spread by the counter. The cashier I believe was on training when I got there as she wasn't fast with my transaction and needed help. I ordered their special, banana with cinnamon, and it was really good! Got my order wrong, didn't understand their own menu well enough to understand my actual order then proceeded charge me wrong. The rest of the staff just stood around. Their effort to fix this was so incompetent I wont visit the Meyerland Plaza Smoothie King again. Businesses learn best when they lose loyal customers. read more

Ahhh where do I start? This location is supposed to be under new management. So we thought we give it another try but it's very much the same. This location is soo disorganized and some of the workers are seem very lazy.. the young girl who made out smoothie didn't seem to know what she was doing or just didn't care.. the smoothie We received was horrible just watery and not even filled to the top. Relatively new location. Same great product and friendly staff. I'll be going back for sure and would recommend coming here if you are fan of smoothie king to begin with. If your not already you should consider giving them a try - whether its meal replacement, a quick boost (energy, health, etc), or post workout supplement they have what you need. Friendly staff. This location is pretty convenient to my job. Stopped by around 7:15am, no line in the inside nor the drive thru. Therefore I was in and out. The workers were very nice and blended the smoothie really well. This was my first time getting the Greek yogurt with peach and a probiotic and it was yummy!! I also got a Larry's cookie which is sooooooooooo good. Highly recommend the Larry's cookie. But my total for a small smoothie with the Larry's cookie was about $10...pretty costly. This smoothie king is terrible!!! I waited for 10 minutes in the drive thru, where i was the only person in line and kept having to say "hello" at the speaker so someone would take my order. Once it was finally taken, I pulled to the window and was asked my order for the 2nd time, then was asked to pay again after I had already paid someone. I love this smoothie king location! The staff is really friendly and helpful, they'll ask what you're in the mood for, what you like, etc. and try to make recommendations for you. There's a drive through which is super convenient on the way to work and in general the parking lot has lots of space and is easy to get in and out of. I think smoothie king as a chain has also gradually been improving the quality of their ingredients over time. The prices have gone up ($5 for a 20 oz smoothie) but I think there has been a corresponding increase in quality and it's still half the price of the hipster smoothie places nearby (like nourish). read more

Okay I've been to this location three times in the last week. First two were fine besides the wait time was ridiculous. But today. HA. Three people working. The guy making my smoothie had to redo it because his coworker told him he forgot ice or some of the ingredients since it was so short. He was clearly distracted cause he couldn't stop talking with his coworker about his girlfriend hitting him and leaving a mark. When I finally got my smoothie it was still very short and also not a smoothie. It was a thick juice. My first job at 17 was Jamba Juice. Easiest job I ever had. I wouldn't care what the kid was talking about if he knew how to make a damn smoothie. If I'm paying for a 10$ smoothie (small) at least make it right. To the owner: I want to like this location. I really do. I'm the type of person who likes to use my time efficiently so I typically will call in an order wherever I'm going or use their app if they have one. 9 times out of 10 when I try to call your location nobody answers the phone. I will even cal back 4-5 times on my way here just in case they were busy at the moment. Usually when I show up there's maybe one other customer in the shop with 2 out of 3 employees standing around or hanging out in the office. I've even called the employees out a few times on not answering the phone and surprise, surprise! 'Someone' turned the ringer down on the phone to silent. As a fellow business owner I'm sure you can agree that answering the phone is one of your important moneymakers because you don't know how much money is being left on the table and you also know the customers who are already in your shop understand and will wait. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your business, but maybe you aren't aware of this practice going on in your shop. Personally, I would occasionally audit the phone and if my employees weren't answering the business line when I called I'd be furious. This location is consistently steady. The young people working here are very friendly and professional. I enjoy the convenience of using the Smoothie King app. I have my little list of favorites and they do not fail to blend them to perfection. If they are slow in getting it out, which they have been a little slow at a couple of times, they were super apologetic and explained what happened. Great place for me. I don't care for the rough driveway entrance going back on to 19th Street. The city needs to repair that. read more

I am used to Smoothie King employees being very friendly. Here they are not rude, but they don't make you feel welcomed. This Smoothie King sports a very old Menu, so it was not easy to tell the difference between MR, SKN, and other smoothie categories like the new menu. However, the Smoothies were made perfectly. There's no reason for this location to still be drive thru only. The purpose of placing orders ahead is to be able to skip the line and grab your order. If you place it online and then arrive and have to wait for 10 other cars to go through the drive thru, you're smoothie is melted. They either need to add a curbside option or open the inside. read more

First time at this location. I Decided to mobile order bc I was in a hurry, just to be forced to sit in the drive-thru line and wait, totally negating the benefit of mobile ordering. After a 10 minute wait in line I received my drink. I drive off, take a sip and it's the wrong drink. I can not have sugar. For such a food sensitive establishment you would think that labels or something would have been established to help accuracy. I was already annoyed that no system was in place for mobile orders to be served without waiting in the same line and everyone else who is ordering in person and now I have to go back, park my car and walk up to the drive thru while another customer was at the window. Thankfully the car at the window allowed me to walk up and knock on the drive-thru. I asked for a refund bc I was still in a hurry and handed him back my drink. My drink had not been made at all. The teller told me he can't refund me, that only a manager (who was not present) can do those things. So I left the place Drink-less and without a refund unless I take more of my time to call and hope to get lucky enough to get a manger on duty with refund privileges...I understand Covid prevention is our new way of life and all the new rules that go along with that.....but.... most places have it figured out by now. No other smoothie king makes the mobile order people wait in the same line as everyone else, thus forcing people to wait until all those other drinks are made. BEWARE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. They do NOT hold the hours they claim to hold. I showed up 30 minutes before closing time and the whole place was locked up and shut down. I've driven by in the mornings and they aren't open. Why waste the money to buy a franchise if your not even going to run it. Went here for lunch ordered "The Shredder" and added peanut butter and they made it correct and fast was in there maybe 4-6 min at most and the staff is very friendly. I don't visit smoothie king to often so i had questions about what was in the shake and the staff was happy to help me and had the answers to all my question.
