I am so disappointed in smoothie king, I've only gone twice, but both times I was greeted with a rude employee (the same one). I mean eyes rolling, ignoring me when I walked in and not being helpful. This place is right down the street from where I work and its UH-Mazing! When I am having a rough day at work and I need a pick me upper this is the place to go! They have a good variety of smoothies and I recommend Angel Food or Almond Mocha. I go around 1pm and there is usually NO line. This review will be quick. I'm giving this smoothie king 5 stars because despite the catastrophe that ensued, the young man working held it together the best way possible and made the best of a terrible situation. This past Saturday I dropped by in hopes of grabbing my new favorite Vegan Spinach Pineapple smoothie (love in a cup) on my way home. This location is very close to the American airlines headquarters so I'm sure on the weekend they cut staff as there's not as much traffic on the weekend. This particular afternoon there was only one worker there. Again, I'm not sure if that's normal operations for the weekend or if someone just didn't show up but the young man was visibly stressed as they were BUSY. He was taking orders, mixing smoothies, ringing people up, answering phones, taking internet orders. I mean, this young man was WORKING. LOL. He could have easily had an attitude and let the situation affect his responses, but he didn't. That's why I'm giving them 5 stars. My smoothie was the bomb, I had to wait a few extra minutes for it and normally I would've been agitated but today I wasn't because I felt for the young man just trying to do his job. Don't know what is it about this place, sometimes my Lean One Vanilla is very good and other times it is bad. Went there on Friday, October 7 and it was real bad - tasted watered down, no flavor and it also tasted like they forgot to add the almonds. On one occasion it was so tasteless I returned it and the manager re-made it for me and then it was great - this was around March/April of this year. So, since the one on my last visit was so bad, I'm done. I will not purchase another smoothie from this store. There's a SK in South Arlington that always gets my Lean One right so I'll visit that store if I simply must have a smoothie. read more
