Sometimes, there is a 5-6 minute wait to just find someone to slice the bread. Believe me, I'd much rather shop at WF than TJ's, but the staff members at TJ's are quantum leaps better in terms of their consistent friendly customer relations and service. I was having lunch at Chicken Salad Chick and decided to visit a couple other stores in the strip including GNC. This is a relatively small but nicely organized location that seems to cover most of the basics. They're all clearly labeled. They've got the traditional vitamins, of course, along with supplements for fitness, weight loss, digestion, super foods, beverages (including energy drinks), skin care, and they even carry a limited CBD selection. I recently tried CBD to address ongoing issues with muscle spasms and joint discomfort and have been pretty pleased with the results. I looked at the selection here and I did note that all of the options were full spectrum (which means they do include a small amount of THC - important to know if your employer is prone to doing drug testing). While CBD is legal in Indiana, you do have to be aware of percentages to make sure you stay within legal limits and you do want to make sure you're buying from a reputable vendor so there's not much in the way of variation. They had both gummies and lotions. The employee who was working was quite friendly - I failed to get his name. He offered help, though he didn't hover. He answered basic questions and was effective and efficient in processing my purchase. I also noticed they carried a vitamin I am prescribed and I will likely pick that up the next time I'm in. GNC is a national chain started in Pittsburgh in 1935 by David Shakarian. The national headquarters is still only two blocks from the original location. I will note there are some accessibility issues at this location. While there are designated accessible spots, they don't have the metallic signs and nearly every time I've been here I've seen people parked on the blue striped spots (which is illegal, for those who don't know). I typically park at the end of an aisle when I come here - or I'll wheel over from the Target parking lot. While there's security here, they're pretty useless. So, while I am willing to give GNC a 5-star it's with the caveat that Glendale Town Center regularly drops the ball here in terms of access. There are curb cuts - a good thing. The door is a single-sided glass door that is pretty manageable. The store itself is nicely laid out and easily accessible. Overall, this was a very good visit and I was able to get what I needed at a fair price with strong customer service. I'll be back.

We just threw our annual "Yelp's Fermented Funk Fest" at the Fitness Farm and not a single attendee…read morehad visited this venue before! It's definitely a hidden gem (and a surprise, as it's located in a residential area). What is the Fitness Farm you ask? It's a property owned by a family that decided to use the land to benefit the community. There is a home on this property where the owner still lives, but the rest of the property is for community use. There is a small carriage house where weekly yoga and cooking classes are held (for only about $5/class), a garden where they grow/sell vegetables, two tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, a bonfire pit, basketball hoops and wild livestock (chicken and pigs). Weddings are held outside here (there's a massive field with huge, gorgeous trees), as well as summer camps for kids, where they learn to eat healthy and enjoy exercise and the great outdoors. They were great to work with and had significant event experience. Beyond those specifics, the gates are open every day for the neighborhood and community to stop by and use the facilities. There's even a track, so you could even just walk around or bring a dog. Enjoy!
