Went to Smoothie King yesterday for the first time in ages! I was craving something fruity and refreshing. I noticed a sign in the drive-thru stating that it was free upsize Friday (for members) and $1 upsize for everyone else. I ordered the the Caribbean Way (small) and was immediately offered the $1 upgrade to a medium. After checking out the normal pricing, I agreed to the upsize. The medium is huge! It was like a big gulp cup from the gas station! I split it in half once I got home and shared with my daughter. The smoothie was good, but a little grainy and very sweet! I think the graininess may have been been from the turbinado (I'm not even sure what that is, but it was on the list of ingredients). I overall will visit smoothie King if I'm at the library near their location. I typically ordered the large greens smoothie (that's not the name, but it's green). Unfortunately, the consistency is off between visits. Once, I had the smoothie with so much ice clumps I has to wait till it melted to drink. Their smoothies taste rally good. Thats why I go there. I went there today because I had a notice of buy one get one free. I waited in line 20 minutes (It was busy) I ordered and presented my phone for them to scan.. she said wait until I enter the order... the drinks would normally be $8.50 each but one was supposed to be free. the total she charged was $17 ..I thought well maybe they raised the prices and thats why they are doing a BOGO deal... I looked at my reciept and it showed me paying for both drinks... I told her the only reason I am here is because of the BOGO notice I got... She said well you have to scan your app first... It was probably my fault but if someone orders and you know one drink should be free wouldn't you say something like... Hey wait, if you scan the app first you get a drink free because there is a special today... It is not the money... 8.50 extra is nothing... it is the lack of concern for the customer... She could have fixed it or offered me a refund or coupon or something but did not... It sucked the joy out of the treat I was looking forward to... I just left the store... went to Dairy Queen where the was no drama just $12 for 2 large shakes... I'm sitting here enjoying the shake as I write... Will I go back to Smoothie King? Mmm I love a good smoothie. It's even better when you don't have to make it yourself. I stopped by after work to check it out for the first time and it was very clean inside. It was almost overwhelming with all the different selections to choose from. When it was my turn to order I still couldn't make a decision so I told the cashier that I wanted a strawberry banana smoothie and he pointed me to the angel food smoothie. I went with the 32oz and boy was it huge! I think it took me about an hour to finish but the good thing was it still had it's consistency and wasn't watered down. All in all I'm pleased. I think next time I'm going to try a meal replacement smoothie to see how that works. They also have a promo going on $5 for a 32oz on Monday's. It's definitely worth it. read more

Tasty, tasty smoothies! I haaaate making smoothies at home because they almost never come out the way I hoped they would. My homemade smoothies are either too thick and chunky or the flavors are off. Then there's the cleanup ... I'm getting tired just thinking about making a smoothie. These smoothies are delicious, though. They're super cold because they're blended with ice and frozen fruit. We got the Caribbean Way (strawberries, bananas, papaya juice blend, turbinado) and the Carrot Kale Dream (carrots, kale, bananas, orange juice, apple juice, vanilla protein blend). Both were amazing. You must know, though, that these are sugar bombs. The Caribbean Way has almost 90 grams of sugar! I think it's because turbinado is one of the ingredients (turbinado is a form of sugar, FYI). But you can get your smoothie without turbinado -- just ask. I just treat smoothies as special occasion beverages, so they're treats and not something to drink every day. Another thing to note is that the small is 20 ounces, which is kind of huge! So on the one hand, you're getting a lot of smoothie for your money, but on the other hand, you're consuming a massive amount of sugar. They do offer kids sizes, though, which are smaller. Next time, I'll get a kids size because I couldn't even finish the small size. read more

Overall they are pretty good. Sometimes slow and seems to have an incredibly high turnover rate. There was one person who had lied about some of the store policies a while back which is why I have such a bad rating (2 stars) before. Truthfully, with the turnover rate, I'm sure she either got fired or just flat out left. I think management found out... The immune booster veggie superfood is my go to (add energy boost to get the morning going, coffee free) and Fridays it's $5 day for 32oz (which is breakfast and brunch in my opinion). This location is great for us, less than 3 min drive, so is the perfect spot for an after workout smoothie. All the smoothies I've had are good, some are a little more frothy than others. I just recently tried the coffee and all protein one in raspberry mocha...it was amazing! It's thicker and tastes delicious. I prefer getting smoothies in a 20oz drink size, it's affordable and filling. I personally probably couldn't finish a 32oz because they're pretty filling. Smoothie King is great. I love they moved close to our house! I love all the choices and extras that you can add to your smoothie. The first few times it takes forever to decide what to get. They have so many choices and kinds. The staff is great about helping you and tell you about all the drinks and suggestions. I love that! I find checking out the app menu is easier for me than reading the menu, it is super bright and I think hard to read sometimes. I like the Almond Mocha High Protein in the Fitness Blends as a meal replacement. I also tried the peanut power with strawberry and it was really yummy. Like a PB&J. The other ones I really like are the Slim Blends with Greek Yogurt. The Angel Food and Pineapple Mango were both really good. I downloaded the app and you get points for every purchase. They have been doing buy 2 enhancers get 1 free so that is cool. I like adding a probiotic, vitamins, and sometimes depending on the drink protein if it isn't one of the Fitness Blends.
