uch a fun spot! The vibe is super cool with a rustic, laid-back feel that instantly makes you want to hang out awhile. The service was spot on--friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. The food was bursting with flavor, but the real standout? The pretzel bites. Absolute must-have. Warm, soft, and totally addictive. If you're looking for great food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere, this place checks all the boxes. read more

Friendly greeting upon entering and told to sit wherever we wanted. There is a nice deck but hubby wanted to enjoy the air conditioning. We each ordered med rare hamburgers with kettle chips. My burger came very rare and they couldn't take it back to cook further. They made me another one which was perfect and tasty. I was given a box to take the first one to our dog . All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend it. read more

Love going here, eating outside on there patio and watching the river. They have delicious food, so very friendly and service is great.

Wonderful atmosphere and even better food! Will definitely be back when we are up that way!

We did not kayak but the atmosphere was great . We sat on the outside deck which was great .The food was pretty good but the service was not good. The waitress had a terrible attitude and wasn't very educated on the menu. Every question we ask her about the menu she acted like it made her mad. She did not want to be there . Not sure if I would go back read more

Great food we've eat here several times and we're always pleased ! Located right next to the river for a nice view or convenience to float the river and have a meal before or after read more

We love coming here and sitting out on the back deck. Great vibes and environment. Fantastic appetizers but the river monster sandwich and river monster fries steal the show! read more

We were driving thru around lunch time. I asked ChatGPT to find me a place that has outdoor seating and on water. It suggested SGR. I don't think we would have found the place on our own. The service and food was good. I would recommend. The only negative is to be sure to look at your bill. We were charged $1.00 for extra ranch for the fried pickles. - we didn't order the extra ranch or receive it. We were also charged an extra $3.00 for the fried okra with the fish tacos. Even tho it was listed as its side on the menu. read more

Smooth Rapids Grill - Menu listed - Chicken Wings Near Me - McMinnville, Tennessee

Good food and lots of it. Love the woodsy decor. Acceptable service. The beef and mashed were perfect.

Stopped by the day after Christmas and thankfully it was open. Super nice owner and friendly staff. Outdoor patio overlooking the water and dog friendly too. On to the food, the blue hole burger was amazing!! The chicken philly was cheesy delicious. The regular French fries were hot and yummy! Definitely stop if you're in the area. read more

Love Smooth Rapids every time we go! Love the outside and inside seating options. Small town feel but big time taste! The burgers are amazing, and great appetizers too! read more

The servers are very nice and friendly here and if you return often, they get to know your order. I usually go there on Wednesday nights because they have the Survey Game that they play for about an hour starting at 7. It's a great time to get together with people and have fun. They also have some good food. I usually end up having their club sandwich or their hamburger steak, but I have been known to grab a grilled cheese (look for it in the kids menu) when I am not feeling that hungry. Sometimes they even have a Buffalo chicken grilled cheese. That's different. I am not a fan of their homemade kettle chips (though I have friends that love them) and prefer to get either fries for $1 more or cheese bites for $3 more. The onion rings are good too, I have just found eating them that late at night is not good for me. Smooth Rapids also is more than just the restaurant. They rent Kayaks and you can even load in on the river right behind the restaurant. They also have a campground and a couple of Airbnb's located by the river. read more

The sign says "wait to be seated" but do not believe it. I was standing there waiting to be seated as the young lady hostess walked right by me without saying a word. She went directly to her phone and started scrolling, then I had to ask her if I just sit anywhere and she said sure. It's a good thing this place has a great chef and good food, because they Are in desperate need of hospitality training. read more

I had their River Monster and it was fantastic. I ate the whole thing and I'm normally a eat half and take half home type of person! Sat on the deck overlooking the River and it was really a nice place to chill and enjoy the meal. Great service from beginning to end. read more

Good people. Great, local, sports bar atmosphere. Cozy, well designed place on the river. Wings burgers and fried pickles are just right. Very friendly and do Trivia Night on Thursdays at 7. Hint. Pay your tab before the game is over to avoid the rush on the cashier. Fun if alone or w a group. read more

Another Yelp find! We went to Cumberland Caverns and after wanted lunch. We looked on Yelp and Smooth Rapids had great reviews. We arrived and super cute building reminded us of Montana buildings with wood and metal. Jimmy was our Server and he was excellent. We had a delicious local Ale and ordered food. I had a blue cheese burger it was excellent and my husband had the philly cheese steak and it was good! The sides were fries and onion rings. This place is worth the stop the place is comfortable the food great and the service even better. We will be back! read more

Loved it. They were very busy and understaffed but were very gracious and kept the drinks coming. Food was excellent and everybody in our party (5) was extremely happy with their meal. Should I ever find my way back to this area I will definitely stop back here. read more

Ondalay! Ondalay! Make time for this great place right off the river. Rapido! Rapido!

Visited on 6/10/23 as a stop for lunch as we floated from Pepper Branch to the VFW ramp. We arrived about 11 so it was earlyish. Terrific deck vibe and view with very sweet and kind servers. Food was really good. Had a slew of the fried green tomatoes. Not everyone makes those well. Smooth Rapids Grill makes great fried green tomatoes. Like this place. Bet it rocks for dinner. read more

Great food and atmosphere!! The owners and staff are great too. Love eating at Smooth Rapids Grill.

The view from the back deck is lovely. The service was excellent. We started with wings and then got a burger with fried okra and a philly with sweet potato fries. All of the food was excellent. The prices are reasonable too. I highly recommend this place. read more

Good food. Great atmosphere. Looking forward to returning in the spring/summer to eat outside overlooking the river

We came here after visiting Cumberland Caverns. The burgers were okay, a little dry, but the fries were delicious! Krispy, battered and hot!
