Everything was fresh, heated or cooled as needed, cooked just the way I asked. One of my guests from NOLA brags about his bbq and smoker skills and he wanted Chef Ceejay's contact info/business card for a future event he's planning. At my request, I met him at Cason's Fine Meats and paid cash for the food +$ and saw the high quality of protein he chose and met the fine staff there. The balance was paid on delivery. That is no a shabby cost per person in my opinion. I was able to put together a menu that would be perfect for my guests as the main course would be chicken skewers. I went for a tasting with my daughter and my Mother to ensure this was the company for us. At the tasting the chicken was dry and I made a point to say that the chicken needed to be moist and juicy. They offered a yogurt sauce for dipping onto the menu. I also ordered Spanokopita for an appetizer only for them to be warm on the outside and cold in the center when they were served. Once the appetizers were being served, guests mentioned them cold. They "tried" to fix them without luck. I paid for warm appetizers. The main buffet was Hummus, Pita, Fruit platter, Caesar salad and Tortellini salad. The only protein I had was the chicken as I was told it would be delicious and plenty of food. NOT.... Chicken was BONE dry and then the gal brought out a pitcher of water to pour over the chicken while on the buffet table. Omg! Yes, A pitcher of water was being poured in the chafing dishes and over the cooked chicken while guests were standing right there. My guests were starving as many left early to go eat and if I saw water being poured onto poultry, I would not be eating it either. After the event I sent an email asking for compensation for this awful experience. I sent three emails actually awaiting word... I was not given what I ordered and I was told that I would be only refunded back the COST of only the chicken at $3.00 per person. Are you kidding me? I was also told I should have ordered more food at $3.00 per person I should have to had more meat and than I would not have had any issue. I can't believe that after they admit their fault I am being told my budget was low. Seriously? Why did I have to order more food when what I ordered would have been plenty if done correctly. They cooked the chicken not me. The event that I was planning for over a year was ruined by this caterer not doing a great at all. I actually never did meet the caterer in person as I was dealing with a gal in charge of setting up the parties. I was told by her and reassured that everything would be amazing and tasty. We could not swallow the chicken without choking. Horrible. I now have to deal with this company as I spent over four thousand dollars for my party and they think $270.00 is compensation for disgraceful food for a party of 90 people. I would NOT go to this caterer if you paid me money. As a fourth generation Portlander, go find another caterer, any caterer on Yelp, as this has been a nightmare.

The food is incredible, our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say! The rest of his crew is incredibly helpful, they helped our family and friends do anything that they needed to help set up for the wedding! We had a great experience with Eric and the crew and would highly recommend to anyone!
