Upon walking in we were greeted and then allowed to select from the posted menu. It was a hard choice because everything sounded great. But I finally choose the Outlaw with a side of coleslaw. The bun was very tasty and fresh. The brisket was tender and flavorful. There were two strips of bacon on top of the brisket and three onion rings on top of that. I took off the top bun, added some BBQ sauce and then proceeded to enjoy each thing piecemeal. Until I came to just the brisket and the bottom slice of bread which was small enough to fit into my mouth. It was all yummy. This was our lunch after a visit to Butterfly Haven which was wonderful and I would highly recommend both businesses. read more

Smokin' Gun BBQ - The Outlawed and coleslaw. - Barbeque Near Me - Blackfoot, Idaho

Wow!!!! AMAZING BBQ! We were just passing through on a road trip and we are SO glad we stopped in. The brisket fell apart because it was so tender. The turkey was delish and the pulled pork was fantastic. Wish we lived near here...we'd be here all the time read more

The food was good. But, they don't have much of a barbecue sauce selection, only have a vinegar based & a coffee flavored one. I wasn't much of a fan of either one of them. read more

It was so good we forgot to take a picture first. French Fry Nachos with brisket were amazing. The meat was so good. Ribs fell right off the bone. Lots of fun sauces to try. Would definitely stop here again. read more

This place was THE BOMB. The BBQ brisket and pulled pork was divine, and I particularly liked the cornbread hush puppies. Our doggies waited in the car and the owner (?) came out and gave us some leftover meat to give them as treats. That kind of friendly service is worth mentioning too. We will be coming here again--we live in Rigby and it was totally worth the drive. Thank you for an amazing lunch! read more

This place is consistently one of the best BBQ joints around, and maybe one of the best this far north. Server is good, prices are fair. The place is decorated nicely. read more

Food is very mid, average at best. The 2 older folks behind the counter (assuming are the owners) are not nice at all. Very rude & had that hurry up buy & then go kind of attitude. I would skip this place. It's not that hard to just smile & be nice (: read more

I'm from the "Kennesee" area and know barbecue. This restaurant iprepares the best barbecue pork and sauce I've ever tasted! It's a casual fairly large clean place with plenty of seating. Their menu items are very reasonably priced and they serve with a smile. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

My wife and I had the Turkey Salad and we got 1/4 lb of the beef brisket to try. Wow! Melt in your mouth Brisket that doesn't need any sauce. Really excellent! The Salad was just as delicious and a great value. We shared both item and we will be back to get more! read more

So I have been dying to come to try bbq here, and unfortunately every time I stopped by they were closed because they sold out. Well today I decided to try again and they were open! (Insert happy dance). I walked in and was greeted with a bright smile and a "hello! How are you today?" , I told the lovely gal that I had not been there before and that I had come by a few times but they were sold out. She gave me a run down of the menu, I then decided on their razorback sandwhich with hush puppies(I'm from Alabama so I was so excited for the hush puppies) , a side of Mac n cheese, baked beans and a 1/4lb of the turkey. While the food was being made, I got to talk to both of the owners and told them I had not been able to find a good bbq place since I moved here and how excited I was to try the food. They gave me samples of the pulled pork and turkey, let me tell you... OMG they were both so tender, moist and flavorful. It made me even more excited to try what I ordered. When I got home I tried everything and it is the best bbq I have had out here. The pulled pork sandwich was so delicious, the flavors of the pork mixed with the bbq sauce and the creamy coleslaw was phenomenal! I then tried the Mac n cheese and baked beans, again amazing and so much flavor. Lastly the hush puppies, I took one bite of those and it brought me right back home, especially with the honey butter they serve with it. They also had Alabama white sauce and dear god I will be convincing them to sell it to me by the bottle. All in all, I highly recommend Smokin' Gun BBQ. If they are closed keep trying to go back because it is definitely worth the wait. I will definitely be a returning and regular customer of theirs. read more

Food was great. I got a 3 meat plate and they nailed all three (turkey, pork, and brisket). I have been to quite a few bbq places and usually the brisket is so so. This was tender and juicy. The owner then brought me out a fried rib to try. Great place. read more

Seen they had Alabama White Sauce and was absolutely floored. Literally fell to my knees in line. Crispy Cold Ones available to top it all off. Some real serious bbq behavior at smoking guns. I will be back! read more

When we made a pit stop in this windy South East corner of Idaho, we came upon this joint, with allusions to Rio Bravo, The Outlaw Josey Wales and other equaling compelling Western paraphernalia. I sampled the pork ribs which was the smoking gun for this veritably best BBQ joint in town. Just down the street from the Spud Museum this place offers BBQ rivaling those in large cities. So come on in, bring your Tums and pack it on! read more

Best in the west....double barrel all the way . Dam that is good! And I love the music good vibes!

Blackfoot's best kept secret! Brisket melts in your mouth. Creamy or vinegar coleslaw is a perfect addition to the best BBQ in town!

BEST BBQ ...EVER!!! I am a Texas girl and know good brisket. This is the best!!! Well seasoned, tender, cuts with a fork and great sauce. I had the brisket with Mac-and- cheese, onion rings. Generous portions. Macaroni had alot of cheese and the added bonus of BACON!!! Smokey goodness, did I mention the cheese?! Onion rings were crisp and perfect and their special dipping sauce was excellent. My husband had the ribs. Oh My Gosh!!! Meat was so tender it fell off the bone! He had the hush puppies. Made with cornbread with a hint of honey on the exterior. Sooooooo good!! Great service, nice people, I'm can't wait to get back and try the rest of the menu. It's a bit off the beaten path, but worth finding if you want excellent BBQ! read more

Smokin Gun BBQ is really good. It's just really good BBQ, and great service. It can get a little busy at lunchtime but I've never had to wait more than 5 mins for my food to come out. The chopped brisket sandwich is my go to choice. My wife likes the pulled pork, but you would be hard pressed to find something bad there. The only weird thing is that they don't allow high school kids (high school right across the street) in the restaurant at lunch time. Several times I've wanted to meet my kids there for lunch but can't. Great BBQ, coke Diet Coke on tap and amazing sauce! read more

Very clean and pleasant place. Large portions and we were able to substitute the coleslaw instead of fries. I would have liked more bbq sauce but I didn't ask for more. They do have several different beers but hours can vary as if they run out of meats they close. Service was great. read more

Wow! So good! Finger Licking Good. We had the Double Barrel sandwich!! So tasty with just the right combination of brisket, pulled pork, sausage and cole slaw . And the sandwich bread was perfect . Definitely try this gem. ! My husband said: " good thing they serve it on paper trays otherwise you would be licking your plate." read more

I have owned a catering business for over 20 years in Northern Cal and I have a huge Ole Hickory smoker. Smokin' Gun BBQ knows how to low and slow cook there meats. Plus all their sides are done right. If you like BBQ and you're anywhere near Blackfoot, ID stop by Smokin' Gun read more

Their food is always good, but the prices aren't always amazing, which I can get with it being a small business. The issue I have is you never know what they will have or how long they will be open. They kinda just cook until they run out, and it makes it hard to know if they will have something you can eat that day if you have dietary restrictions read more

Founds this and thought I'd give it a try! Check my photo. I had the Brisket (Amazing) and Ribs (Good), with a side of Potato Salad (this made with sweet pickles, not my thing), MAC n Cheese (Amazing! He made with a smoky cheese!) and Onion Rings (Regular). This place is legit Texas style even done to the slices of white bread, pickles and onions! There was even a fry sauce for the rings. I'd come back again and again for the Brisket and Mac n Cheese!!! I talked with the owner (super nice!!) and she had me sample the pull pork with an amazing vinegar sauce!! Guys, you got to come try this, I'll be back for sure!! read more

Food was delicious! We enjoyed the BBQ pork, French fries, onion rings, and hush puppies. The BBQ sauce was very good too!

Way too expensive for what was delivered. A single meat plate was purchased, with a single Bud bottle. ($16.00) The smoke ring was good, but the fat was too fat. Since they weigh their servings, I don't want the fat. The Baked beans were from a can with a few additions, Costco bought potato salad, a single slice of non toasted Wonder white bread, and 2 pickle slices about the size of a quarter. (Where were the onions or something else to make the meal appear nicer or have value?) I really feel Jipped!! A return trip is doubtful. Pics to follow. read more

Heard good things about this place being the best BBQ place in South East Idaho. Took my family on a Friday night around 6:00 p.m and showed up and the workers have the audacity to say we don't have any meat. On a Friday night!!! This Restaurant has 4.5 Start but I can't even taste it. I'm going to show up again but I don't even know when. I am Devastated Right Now. Can't even get a lick of that brisket. That's My Yelp Review 1/10. We will meet again Review number 2 Smokin Gun BBQ do got the meats. Best BBQ place in Southeast Idaho. I highly recommend it. Change the 1/10 to a 8.9/10. That's my review was very impressed. read more
