Walking inside around 7pm on a Monday in July, I got a table for one right away. Within minutes, I was ordering a flight of four different sour ales. (They have six or so on the draft menu.) My favorite was the guava sour ale! To eat, I got the shrimp salad, which was really tasty! It comes with two skewers of shrimp, each with five pieces of grilled shrimp.

Overall, this meal was pretty underwhelming, especially for the price. We ordered a smash burger,…read morepizza, and the kids' tacos. Unfortunately, everything was bland and below average. The kids' tacos were particularly disappointing--they were just pre-cooked chicken on a small tortilla with shredded raw cheese, with very little effort put into them. The smash burger and pizza also lacked flavor and weren't anything memorable. The one bright spot was the drink, which was well made. Service was also slow. It took nearly two hours from the time we sat down to receive our food and drinks, which made the experience even more frustrating. For a $120 meal, I expected much better quality and service. Sadly, I wouldn't return based on this experience.

Our food arrived fairly quickly after we finally put in our order. No real issues with the food. However a few minutes after receiving our food we asked for more ketchup as they do not keep condiments on the table there and you have to request it. The waitress said she would get it right away and she did not return. About 40 minutes later another server advised us our waitress is very busy and asked him to check on us for her. We asked for the bill as we were ready to leave due to the poor service . We were planning to order more drinks and dessert but changed our minds when we realized the waitress forgot about us after saying she was going to get the ketchup we requested. We will not be returning to this location. Never had an issue with the service at the kenmount rd location.

Egg rolls were good, garlic short ribs were also good. Their red sauce is of the worst quality I've ever seen , it's not even red it's like a translucent slightly red gel with not much flavor. There were little black flakes of burnt food in the chow mein and rice witch made it taste not so great. Would be a 1 star but the egg rolls and pork made it bearable.

Linda and her late husband, Bobby, opened the restaurant in 1977 to supplement their income from their declining grocery store. As promised, she was full of stories. She's in her late 60s and kept us entertained. The place is overflowing with things Linda has collected and things that have been given to her over the years. There are 1500+ spoons, lots of pictures, army helmets ... you name it! This is a large collection of cards ... not only business cards but driver's licenses, university IDs, etc. Apparently kids stop by after having a few too many and leave their important IDs (because they don't have business cards) under the glass ... they probably don't think it's such a grand idea the next day once they have sobered up. Barb helps Linda out at the bar. She lives down the street and had some great stories too. If you are in the Quidi Vidi area, you have to stop in and visit this place.
