They are friendly and will not try to sell you items that you do not need. When I have gone into other stores similar I have often found that the staff will try to promote products that aren't in my best interest. I went in today just looking for my Legendary Protein Donuts so I would have healthy portioned desserts on hand ( I love these ) ! No one tried to persuade me to buy anything I wasn't looking for which I really appreciate! Before I go I usually look for a promo code on the app and if I forget they often remind me and this I find very thoughtful. When you give your phone number you build up rewards so you can save money over time often getting a large portion off of a purchase or sometimes paying next to nothing at a given purchase. If you go often you can really reap the rewards of being a customer at The Vitamin Shoppe! This location is a favorite of mine! Walking into Earth Origins in Ocala feels less like entering a grocery store and more like stepping…read moreback into my childhood. Long before Whole Foods existed... before wellness influencers... before every grocery store suddenly discovered "organic"... my parents owned health food stores in California and New York during the 1970s and 80s, back when most Americans barely understood what a health food store was. I grew up carrying whole wheat, avocado, mayo and sprout sandwiches in my lunchbox when other kids had processed snacks and white bread. My mother was giving health and nutritional talks decades ago and still does to this day. The funny part is the kids at school loved my avocado sprout sandwiches so much that they would trade me their Twinkies for them. Twinkies were absolutely a no-no in our household, which of course made them feel like pure treasure whenever I could get my hands on one... even though I knew they were terrible for me. Healthy living wasn't a trend in our household. It was simply the way we lived. And contrary to what people think now, this knowledge is not new. Ancient cultures understood the connection between food, health, longevity and lifestyle long before modern America rediscovered it and turned it into branding. Tibet is a perfect example. Entire cultures have understood preventative wellness and intentional living for centuries. Back then, health food stores were different. They were deeply personal places. Independent. Passion-driven. Families built them around education, community, and a genuine belief in helping people live healthier lives. Then the industry began to change. During the 1980s and 90s, large corporations started buying up independent health food stores across America. Chains like GNC expanded aggressively through acquisitions, converting many small family-owned stores into standardized retail locations. In fact, GNC actually bought one of my parents' stores years ago and turned it into a GNC. Later, companies like Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe, and major investment groups helped transform what had once been deeply local, community-driven businesses into national chains built around scale, branding, and mass-market wellness. That's why Earth Origins still feels special to me. It still carries echoes of the old Mother Earth health food store that once existed here in Ocala. The scent in the air... the supplement aisles... the atmosphere... even the energy of the store instantly brought me back to childhood memories of standing inside my parents' stores decades ago. There's something comforting about walking into a place that still feels connected to the original spirit of the health food movement before it became mainstream. For me, Earth Origins doesn't just feel like shopping. It feels like home.

I was meaning to stop here for months after moving to the area and finally made myself go during an…read moreerrand run. I have been here several times over the years. I have shopped here so specific items and also just to browse. Since we do not have a Whole Foods or Fresh Market, and Sprouts is on the other side of town, Earth Origins is the next best thing. I have been exploring plant based products for the last couple of years and attempting the more holistic route so Earth Origins definitely assists with that. I will say, the prices are astronomical for many products but reasonable for other products. The produce department is super small, with only organic options, and not many options for vegetables or fruits. They have a small salad bar, which is measured by the pound. There is also a hot soup bar, with I think 2 options but they close that early-maybe around 5pm? There is also a deli/ seafood/ sushi counter where you can purchase a la carte items, with premade options already packaged for grab and go. They also have ramen you can order! Next is a bulk area with a huge selection of nuts, coffee, seeds, legumes, snacks, etc. I finally purchased some during my last visit. I was a little slow in figuring it out. You put the items in a bag, then tie it with a wire tag, then write the UPC code # on the tag so the cashier can type it in. There is also fresh nut butters and honey and pastries in the same area. There are aisles of dry goods, supplements, vitamins, personal care, snacks, beverages, and treats. There is also a small wine section, with a lot of local wines. Lined up against the back of the store and the last aisle are refrigerated and freezer items. I always purchase items in the area! If you join their membership, you receive special deals daily. If you bring your own bags, you receive a 5 cent discount.

Any good reviews on this place are bogus, if you notice he doesn't have prices on things set he…read moremakes the prices up as he goes. The first time he showed me he couldn't be trusted he said when I reached 100 points I would get a $10 discount but when I reached that hundred points it was only a $5 discount, so right there he was misleading. Then I bought something and he said he had a new order of the same thing coming in and when I went back I bought it it wasn't the same thing any charged me more that would be number two red flag. Then I went in there and bought something just to find out he charged me twice of what it is worth... Charged me $59.99 for something I could get down the road for 26.99 or from the website for $24.99 possibly less. This place was started by former law enforcement. They know exactly what addiction does to people and it doesn't matter what type of addiction any addiction can destroy you easily. Now this is where things get greasy in my eyes. Cops know exactly what addiction does to people so when these cops retire they open up a shop that sells addictive products, they are 100% betting on your addiction and that's what keeps you coming back so they can keep taking your money. They are very misleading. The fact that there isn't straight up prices listed on everything shows you he makes them up as they go. And when you look at the receipts they don't make sense I will pay for something with a card and when I look at the receipt it says that I paid like $2.38 in cash or something like that very minuscule amount of money. And I've seen this on all the receipts that I have gotten from them. These people cannot be trusted. Save your money do some real research do not put your trust into these people you will regret it. Unless you're one of those people that just doesn't do research and believe whatever you hear. Like they say common Sense isn't so common anymore so that explains a lot.... Businesses like this are predators for people with addictions. That's pretty greasy that a retired cop couple would start up a business like this for their son who has horrible business skills and a very bad attitude. I grew up with people like this through the '90s hiding behind their parents because their parents were police and they knew mommy and daddy would step in. That's the exact Aura this dude gives off, the aura of I will do whatever I want if you have a problem with that my parents will make sure I come out on top. The seven seas tablets he sells I scanned the back of the package and it corrupted my browser. I have gotten 7 staxfromthem and when I scanned the back it didn't even pull up the product I was scanning it did not even pull up the batch number that was on the package. So these items he's selling are clearly misleading and scanning them to truly see what their COA is seems like a slap to their face because they made it to where it will corrupt your phone. I found the two downloads on my phone and could not figure out how to delete them and when I tried to open them my phone told me it could be a malicious site and it did not recommend me going to it because it could be malware. And I don't believe in coincidences at the same time my browser got corrupted and the only way to fix it was to do a factory data reset my Google lens wouldn't even work anymore I did everything everybody recommended to fix it and nothing helped at all except for a factory data reset. So not only are these people ripping other people off but the products they are selling obviously have malware in them. Take your chances buying from this company if you want.

This company is full of nothing but crooks. I say this for one thing I bought some 7 stax that were…read morethe better ones that were the next generations and he looked back at the box and told me he was getting a new order of them and when I came in the next time they were not the next generations and they charged me more. They had no problem taking my money. He wants to hide behind the fact that his parents are retired cops. I grew up through the '90s with a lot of children that had parents that were police and because of that they thought they could get away with anything and they probably could because all they would have to do is have their parents step in. I told him I was going to give a good review and I want to do explain my bad review he said I know who you are leave my store I don't need to hear any explanation, he doesn't want to hear an explanation because he knows what he did and they do sell illegal products in that store he keeps them in the back left corner where you can hardly see them. He is definitely hiding behind the fact that his parents are retired police and probably know the whole Police department and if anything happens all they have to do is step in and probably get all charges dismissed. The Ocala Police department is known for being crooked the Marion county jail is the worst jail in Florida and absolutely disgusting place and the people that run it and joy making you suffer. It's privately run they don't keep it up they don't care what happens people die in there all the time recently somebody I knew died that needed medical attention but they wouldn't give it to her and she was in her 70s she died with her dentures in her hand and her cell because they will not give you help there they don't care about you. That's why the whole place is falling apart mold is everywhere and guards do not pay attention to anything that is going on. They don't care they are just there to collect a paycheck and make you suffer by putting five men in a two-man cell that's what they did to me. And then I started throwing up blood and they wouldn't help me they treated me like I was doing it to try and get out. Very nasty jail very nasty Police department. Police know exactly what addiction does to people why do you think retired cops opened up a shop that sells addictive products because they are betting on you being addicted and coming back and spending your money with them. If you think about it it's pretty nasty for retired cops to open up a shop like this because they know exactly what addiction does to people that destroys them it doesn't matter what you're addicted to and they have no problem with selling addictive products so that tells you exactly what kind of cops these were. Just your typical nasty dealer depending on your addiction so they can make money. They spent their retirement money to start this business. The type of people that started this business and the way it is running explains a lot. And their son has a horrible attitude as he kept creeping to the back room as I was just trying to talk to him. Save your money for a dependable shop not somebody that is full of lies and supposedly he already known me and didn't like me but had no problem with taking my money that's all they care about.
