Moore Street Market is an incredible Puerto Rican market in the heart of Brooklyn. They have anything and everything you can think of.. and that includes my all-time favorite boriqua delicacy.. pastelles! I picked up a dozen (half chicken, half pork) for only $22. They come frozen & bundled in twos and are the perfect size, which make them easy for boiling. If you've never had a pastele before, they are sort of similar to a tamale.. except made with masa de yuca instead of corn flour. They are filled with meat, pimento, olives and more, all mixed together with delicious achiote seed oil, spices and herbs. If you ae Puerto Rican or just so happen to make pasteles each year for friends and family, and don't quite feel up to the task this year, rest assured that Moore Street Market as got you covered!
