Bill is the service person I have interacted with the last two years of coming to Smog Pros. He is so nice and professional. He makes getting your smog check quite pleasant really. Located directly behind Urgent Care and sharing the parking lot with Sam's & Walmart, this place is conveniently located for me. When I pull up, Bill acknowledges me and directs me to one of the two bays on either side of the small building (if you can call it that). He lets me know he will be with me in about 5 minutes. Bill sets the tone of my positive experience. He is super nice, very normal and has apparently worked here a long time. Been coming here for years! Pulled along one of the sides like I always do and some young punk says NOPE!! You line up over here and walked away shaking his head. Drove around and expressed to him that I've been pulling in this way for the better part of 15 years. All he would kept saying was "can't hear you, too bad"...this poor guy. I went to get my smog checked. I asked the girl if she would price match a coupon I had that was $9.99. At first she said no, the lowest is $17.99. I said ok. I was going to leave then she goes fine we can take the coupon this time. Then she did it. Then proceeded to tell me it would be $17.99. I was like what? You said you would take the coupon. She said I said the lowest I can do is $17.99. I said but you said you would take the coupon. I asked her to give me the coupon back she said no she already did it and she would report me to the DMV. Went in for a smog, and got squandered out of 20.99. After he hooked up the equipment, 2 minutes go by then my check engine light comes on. He fails me. My light was never on before mind you. I go home, unplug the battery and rehook it up hours later, the check engine light gose off. Next day I go back up here. He questioned me "what did I do". I told him I disconnected and hooked back up. He claimed it clear everything but I needed to drive 100miles. So I went to Fabulous Freddy's got a clean smog, went to DMV got my registration. Showed up on a Monday and told can't be smogged without an appointment although no one was there ( and now I know why ). Came back Tuesday morning at 8:15 and told once again very rudely I was late for my appointment and would not be smogged. Once again no one in line or being smogged. The guy working wanted me there at 7:45 before they opened. Sounded like he was just pocketing the cash for himself and didn't want the boss to know. WOW!!! I went to get my smog done in order to get my registration completed. The technician asked me "I can do the registration renewal real quick here for you". I agreed. He then handed me two separate receipts and told me that there was an $11 convenience fee which is not OK to do after the fact. That's considered fraud/bait and switch. Just had a conversation with the owner MARTY and initially he seemed reasonable and acknowledged the fact that the technician should have mentioned there was a fee to do the registration. He did not offer to refund me and when I requested him to refund the $11 out of principle, Marty became belligerent, cursed like a drunken sailor and hung up on me. read more

I have been using this location to get the smog check on all our vehicles for over 10 years. I have always been a happy and satisfied customer. BUT today when I went the technician (E00000050729) said to me. " Ok, you are all set ... would you like me to register your car too?" I said " You guys can do that?" He said "Absolutely" I said "Great". Then I was given two receipts to sign. I asked what the $11 receipt was for. He said it was the convenience fee for registering my vehicle. I told him I would have said NO if I knew there was going to be a charge. It's a simple process on the computer to register your vehicle. He didn't answer and then said "Have a nice day". I put the $5 tip I was going to have him back in my wallet. Be CAREFUL if you go here. Always ask what the charge is for anything they offer and make sound like it's free. Have been here before in the past, with the same vehicle. The price is better than most. But Oct 2018 my vehicle failed their test and I had to pay them regardless. Read on about the fact I disputed the results via the DMV testing Lab [Something I did not know existed - Live & learn] I asked the tech at this business if the test could be run again since my vehicle runs great and there have been no check engine lights. I suspected they made some type of error. The tech said no, not without charging me a second time. He was not accommodating at all. He suggested I go to another smog station or have the vehicle checked/serviced by a mechanic. I asked "If this passes somewhere else and I pay the fee there, do I come back and you refund what you charged me"? The tech said there are no refunds, even if it passed somewhere else, indicating this failed test was erroneous. What kind of laws set this up???? Is there no room for tech error, or equipment error? I drove my vehicle over to the DMV Emissions Test Lab to challenge the test. I was very confident my vehicle did not have a problem. It is always properly serviced. Unfortunately there is only one such place [DMV Lab] in Las Vegas. I live on the west side. It's on the east side, [at 2621 East Sahara Ave]. At the DMV Lab the vehicle passed as I suspected it would. So this normal short process, ended up costing me 3 hours of my time. For something wrong at this business location. Though at the Lab, I did receive a PASS certificate at no charge. I was really out no money. But there should be some recourse so this business did not receive payment for tech error, testing equipment issues, or a training issue. I suspect had the tech run the test a second time, and had everything set up correctly it would have passed without putting me through all of this. But he blew off my request. Cheaper is not always better. I won't be back to this smog business location. It also seems there needs to be a way to formally complain to the State about Smog stations that have these types of results. Perhaps that happens through the DMV Lab since they have to see the FAIL paperwork??? Had I taken this vehicle to a repair shop and said it didn't pass smog when I left this business with a FAIL, I wonder how many $'s I would be out right now? The last time I took my vehicle for a diagnostic on any problem they started at $125. If it was someone honest I might be out that $125. Not so honest of a place?.............. read more

Opened Monday through Saturday, 10am-530pm. Came today to get it done before end of month but he tells me we disconnected our battery recently and it failed, saying we have to drive another 75 miles and come back! Since neither my husband nor myself had done anything to the battery we couldn't figure it out, but we drove to Pahrump and back through redrock and down to Henderson just so we'd get that mileage. Not knowing they weren't open Sunday! We also remembered, oil change last Tuesday and they did a battery check! Honestly I've gone twice with two different cars. The first one the plastic where they plug into was broken and he didn't do ANYTHING , and acted like everything was fine , said 18.95 so I paid and tipped him to receive A fail because he couldn't plug into it. The second vehicle failed because I just fixed. The check enjoin light and the sensors hadn't reset yet, failed that, but understand because he plugged in the car and did some typing. My experience was horrible, he kept cursing at everyone, sickening attitude, looked like a tweeker. He tried getting into fights constantly. Twice have gone there and was given the hand across the throat sign each time....once a few days ago @4:48 and was yelled from afar it was closed at 5pm after I waited behind a previous customer for 4 minutes and pulled forward. And again today got there at 4:25 and and told closed. The signage says M-Sat closes 5:30. Have been going there for years with 4 vehicles. After taking all 3 of my cars there every year, I will say No More. The tech hooked up and asked me if my battery had been disconnected recently. Yes... So he told me to drive around some more and bring it back because all the sensors were not working. He then charges me $15 for less than 60 seconds. I asked him if this would apply when I come back later today and he no, it would be an additional charge of $15. As far as smog checks go, this place gets the job done. There are 2 lanes and it's a very smooth process. You can get in and out in 5 minutes. They send out a mailer with a coupon when it's time for my renewal from the DMV. It's $16 for the check and they will also renew your registration on site. I always do it from home but it's an option. read more
