I just had the smog inspection service done at Smog Checkers. It was so quick that it will probably take more time for me to write a review on them, than it was for the owner to execute the smog check, which was done on his quality state-of-the-art equipment.     The owner had a fantastic attitude and did not try to upsell me on anything, at the same time that his work was fast and efficient. The smog inspection is a great value. After taxes it came out to $20.    If you are unfamiliar with this area, the Smog Checkers shed could be easy to miss. It is off of eastbound Sunset Road between the Spencer Street and Eastern Avenue traffic signals, and immediately east of Sunset Pointe Apartments. From being very familiarized with the area, I highly recommend that you try to have the smog inspection done before rush hour, when eastbound Sunset Road frequency backs up all the way from Spencer Street to Eastern. If plan to arrive here at rush hour, and are driving from east of Smog Busters, I highly  recommend driving west on Sunset Road to the Spencer Street traffic signal then conducting a u-turn. Also, Smog Busters is disconnected from the Village Pub parking lot adjacent to it. Again, I emphasize that it is at the first entrance immediately after Sunset Pointe.     The way that I review, 5 stars is as good as it gets in that category. Based on my experience on September 18, 2024; their smog inspection service is on the "as good as it gets" pinnacle in the smog inspection category. By the way, their smog inspection service was much more quicker than writing my review on them. read more

So I called Tom and then headed over. Quick, easy, reasonably priced. And Tom seems like a great guy. My first time yesterday meeting with smog checkers. Me living in Las Vegas since 1997 I am very thankful and appreciative I just now discovered you. I'll drive 45 minutes to your station every year before my renewal expires. That said, your service is impeccable, As a customer Tom's only smog location is a gold mine. This man is old school while diagnosing your vehicle he checks over and follows every state emissions protocol. In other words he is Efficiently detailed and the job is done the right way in 5 minutes or less. Meeting him for only 10 minutes Tom is sincere who really loves his job you can ask him any question and he will respond back with an HONEST professional answer, Now Speaking of Other smog testing stations scattered around town trying to Monopolize the business and charging anywhere from $28 to $33 before the additional tax on top, To send traffic to their stations these folks continue to advertise and promote a discount against their competitors to only not honor it as you drive up to their multiple locations, The smog business is heavily regulated and some of these stations do not even follow state emissions protocols while testing your vehicle. They hire to train these kids to become state certified technicians and trust them to manage the station booths. I've always observed many smog technicians become lazy who only rely on connecting the OBD2 scanner and waiting for a pass or fail result and on to the next car. Makes me wonder how many smog stations avoid heavy emissions state fines by not correctly examining your vehicles carbon reporting to the dmv, Many false negatives force you to retest a failed report, My last advice is to Take your car every year to Tom's emission station and that is only if you want peace of mind, very few businesses these days care more about quantity, There is hope out there because Smog Checkers is all about Quality and I will vouch for that. read more

Normally I dread getting my smog checked because there's always a huge line, the advertised prices aren't always honored and because who the hell wants to wait over 40 minutes to get their car smogged? Not this guy! I came in and there was another car in front of me. Tom, the owner, was chit chatting and smogging that person's car. No biggie. One car in front of me, can't be too bad, right? Right! Kind of hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. This place is just a small kiosk in a strip mall. I passed it a couple of times while looking for this place. I was looking for a building and had to call and get better directions. Once I did find the place I was in and out in about 10 minutes or less. This place is a teeny tiny kiosk that you won't notice unless you seriously keep your eyes peeled, or work in the area and see it everyday (aka me). Why I would drive the extra few miles to visit this place!!!!! My regular place is closed because of the virus. To be honest, the service from my regular place is OK. Drive up, get your smog and leave! The guy is different but it's a smog! Who cares? Now that I have been to this place and met the owner, I CARE!!! What a nice guy Tom is! He is doing his best to take care of his customers. No coupon needed, it's already the same price as my "regular" place with the coupon. He is fast! 4 minutes in and out. Not counting the next ten minutes we sat and chatted, of course including our 6 ft social distancing range. He is full of knowledge on the regulations the DMV is changed because of this virus.
