I am a success story after being treated by Dr. Smith! From the moment I walked in to their office suite, I was welcomed by front office reception and manager with a warm greeting. Dr. Smith is amazing and takes the time to evaluate and educate you on your upper cervical issues. What a great office and chiropractor! If you are looking in the OC area just stop looking and go here! Been having neck, back, lumbar, pelvic curvature, and "dead leg" issues. Not truly "dead" just after working out or skimming my left leg would limp along and have to catch up with the rest of my body. Dr. Smith has me on the road to repair. Also, he resolved an issue where for the past 5 years I could not hold an adjustment for more than 6-7 hours. He requested my scans, studied them and bingo, bango, bongo!! He's got me holding! He doesn't try to sell you any extra gimmicks; he only promotes the adjustment, when needed. I saw Dr. Smith years ago after an accident and he was a super nice guy and his staff were very pleasant and professional too. I came regularly for months but unfortunately, I didn't ever get the relief or correction that I was looking for. I respect all doctors theories on what helps or what doesn't, although I don't personally believe that solely upper Cervical corrections will help everyone. Dr Smith has been a life saver. I've been seeing him for over 2 years now and I can't even begin to describe how much better my life is. I came in with a horrible pressure in the back of my head that felt like a golf sized tumor, neck pain, and heart palpitations that felt like anxiety. I was seeing another chiropractor for over 2 years but would only get partial relief for a day or two. My neck issues all started with car accidents, but I also later discovered I had Lyme's disease which can cause neck arthritis. Since I started seeing Dr Smith, I have not felt the horrible tumor like feeling in the back of my head. I also hold my adjustments for long periods of time (months at a time) The heart palpitations have also been mostly eradicated. I know I'm out of alignment when I start having a bit of heart palpitations and sleeplessness. It's never gotten as bad as it used to because I've gotten some permanent healing from seeing Dr Smith. If I wasn't so clumsy, I'd probably only go once every 6 months. Recently I was having stomach issues from a bad virus I got. The first symptom I had was Bell's palsy on my left eye. As soon as I got adjusted, the left side of my face felt like it loosened up and my eye opened up. Dr Smith can even help with all that! Because when you're properly aligned, your immune system and blood flow is so much better. His front desk staff Cindy and Wendy are also super nice and always wanting to help. I was in a car crash about 2 years ago, which left me with 4 herniated discs in my back and chronic pain. When I first started seeing him, I lived in DTLA and I currently live in Inglewood. Seriously Dr. Smith changed my life. He is a miracle worker. After years of pain and doctors who continued to bandaid the problem I was fortunate to research my issues and realized it could be something needing an upper cervical chiropractor. I was so lucky to find Dr. Smith because he genuinely cares about his patients and that comes through in every visit. In one treatment session he literally reversed years of misalignment caused by the atlas bone being off which likely happens to many but doctors never mention it. Dr. Smith gave me my life back. I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia at only 16 and I suffered for many years. No doctors could seem to find a cure the only thing they wanted to do was throw pills and medicine at me, which didn't take away the pain. A good friend of mine recommended Dr. Smith a few years ago. After listening to him (several times) tell me I should see him about my chronically sore lower back I finally decided to give him a try. In the course of the last ten years nothing has really helped exact for an occasional shot which only provided some temporary relief. After my initial exam I started receiving treatments from Dr. smith and it took about a month to notice some improvement but then things really started to improve. My lower back pain is now gone and I see Dr. Smith only when I start feeling my pain returning (maybe once every two to three months). Certainly an occasional trip to the chiropractor is a lot better than taking pills, getting injections and avoiding more invasive and more dangerous procedures. Dr. Roger Smith's mentor was the late and widely respected upper cervical/Blair technique chiropractor, Dr. Daniel Kuhn. I started out with Dr. Kuhn at this office more than 25 years ago. Prior to my first adjustment I could not hold my head back to look up, could not lift my arms, and could not turn my head. I could only do a few chores around the house for about 30 minutes before needing to lie down to rest. At church meetings, I could not finish singing a hymn as I would become breathless. My back and neck muscles were constantly stiff, and I would have been happy to get a massage 24/7. After my first adjustment, like other reviewers have said, I could feel my neck adjusting itself and returning to where it should be. The adjustment is a gentle precise tap to the neck while lying on one side of your body. The side you lie on depends on the results of the x-rays. There is no twisting or pulling or anything like that. The actual adjustment takes only about a second. Then you get to lie down for 15 minutes so your body can keep the adjustment. Over the next two months my back and body continued to heal and return to the alignment it should be in. After two months my health returned to normal. I could turn my head, lift my arms, sing, and work as long as I wanted to. If I were not in adjustment I would not be able to work today. Dr. Smith continues to help me stay in adjustment. I have been able to keep my adjustment for long periods of time so I do not need to visit very often. Dr. Smith is very willing to help and loves to share his knowledge. For the last 5 years I have major hip and sciatic pain. I went to numerous doctors, 2 physical therapist, specialist, acupuncturist, yoga, muscle reflexology, 3 chiropractors, and Egoscue posture therapy, but nothing took the pain away. I was told that I have a degenerative disc and that I would have to suffer with the pain until it got worse so they can do surgery. I never take doctors prescription pain killers because it just mask the problem and doesn't heal your body. It was so bad that I couldn't walk and was in a wheel chair at the age of 39 for a bit.
