Coming here is really best for urgent dental issues -- if you want a check-up or regular appointment, when I called, they told me the wait could be between 6-12 months. So just be aware, this isn't a quick in-and-out visit. The staff is helpful and professional. They do ask if you have insurance and will bill you accordingly. Since this is a teaching clinic with dental students and residents supervised by licensed dentists and instructors, you're in good hands. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist believe me, I've had plenty of work done but my doctor here was wonderful, asked all the right questions, and explained everything clearly. They took X-rays, numbed me up well, and extracted my tooth quickly it maybe took 10-15 minutes total. The aftercare instructions were simple, and they advised going to URMC's ER if there were any complications. Yes, there's some waiting involved, but if you're in a tough spot financially or can't get in to see a dentist elsewhere, this place is a real lifesaver. My bill was very reasonable and far less than what I would've paid at an urgent care or private practice. Parking is available, though I was dropped off and picked up. Overall, I'm grateful for the care I received and would recommend this clinic for anyone dealing with an urgent dental issue or needing affordable treatment.

To further elaborate, the entire staff at Elmwood Dental Group is incredible.. dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and front desk staff-literally everyone there! Elmwood Dental Group make visiting the dentist an extremely pleasurable experience. More recently, my four year-old son fell face first onto a bench while visiting the Strong Museum of Play. With a quick call to Elmwood Dental, they had us in office in less than an hour. Their staff are so amazing with the little ones! Dr. Chris made his x-ray super painless, and as much fun as a four year-old can have getting an x-ray on a tender tooth. Dr. Comfort even gave out her cell number in case he had an issue over the weekend, while the office was closed. Additionally, I want to add that Kayla, the hygienist who worked on my two young boys, made it so fun for them, it seemed like a playdate. Same goes with the filling that Dr. Comfort performed on my older son. He was genuinely enjoying himself and having fun the whole time. My dentist called Dr. Alan Brodine of Brodine Prosthodontics. I was in the very next morning. Dr. Alan is wonderful. He explained everything, he made sure I did not feel a thing, actually in two spots I had to have infection removed. He cut open my gum and scraped out the infection so throughly I did not need any antibiotics. Dr. Alan is very kind, gentle, and reassuring. Needless to say he did a fantastic job. His entire office staff and dental staff are just as nice. They were always friendly and helpful and treated me as if they knew me for years. Not that I wish for any more mouth/teeth problems but I would go to Dr. Brodine in a heart beat. P.S. Everytime I went he gave me a new special brush called an END TUFT and told me how to order them. When I brought my concerns to the front desk, the only response I received was, "we dropped the ball," which felt dismissive and did not address the situation in a meaningful way. This entire experience showed a lack of communication, sensitivity, and respect for my son's needs.
