Consider this fair warning...Stay away from this doctor. In fact, someone to whom I told my experience said "I am surprised she hasn't killed more people".
My story is quite simple. For three years I complained of stomach distress that she continually dismissed as IBS. When I indicated that there was blood in the toilet, after one of her exams, she wrote if off as a hemroid. At no point did she give me a rectal exam or refer me to a G.I. specialist. In our last appointment, she said "when you are 50 you'll get a colonoscopy, It's not like you have cancer." A few weeks later I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. A cancer that starts as a PRE-CANCEROUS polyp. If she had not been so cavalier, given the rectal exam (the tumor was found by digital rectal exam) and/or refer me to a specialist and for a colonosocopy, things would very likely be different. If I had waited until I was 50, I would very likely be dead.
This doctor did not do her job, dictated by insurance companies she followed protocol which, did not even give me the option to request the colonoscopy. (I carry my own insurance and it my right to have the option to fight for an exam, if warranted. How would I know, when she did not do a thorough exam.) It was only after,I began to realize that the discomfort I was experiencing was not typical of previous IBS and through the encouragement of a friend, that I got to a G.I. specialist, got the rectal exam and then the colonoscopy.
This doctor's priority is not her patients at this point in her career. She was my trusted G.P. for years and today she is a liability to anyone seeking thorough care and follow-thru. read more
