Dr. Raskin is highly educated, board certified in internal medicine and received his Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University. In 1993 he graduated with distinction from George Washington School of Medicine in Washington DC, after which he completed his residency at UCLA. Amongst Dr. Raskin's diversified areas of expertise, he is also a leading Board Certified Addiction Medicine specialist in preventive and addiction medicine. He's affiliated with premier addiction treatment centers, including Seasons In Malibu and Rise in Malibu. By joining forces, they have successfully treated hundreds of individuals through comprehensive detox. The drive on Pacific Coast Highway to Dr. Raskin's office in my convertible sports car has the most exquisite ocean/beach views, is a huge bonus for me! I started seeing Dr. Raskin a few years ago and upon my first visit, being a patient did not feel welcoming. Laura, the office manager's (and Dr. Raskin's wife) behavior was embarrassing. I witnessed her speaking down to a patient in front of her staff and those of us who were in the waiting room. We all looked at each other and I could tell they were just as uncomfortable as I was. Her lack of patience, empathy, and kindness took me aback. I stayed in the practice for two reasons: location and Dr. Mansoori. I immediately connected with her. I was surprised at my most recent office visit to learn that Dr. Mansoori was no longer with the practice. I was confused as to why they did not send out a letter announcing her departure. Upon checkout, I asked where she had gone. Laura immediately chimed in that, "she had left the state." My first thought was, "Is she okay." That answer was unsettling. So, I did my research and I am happy that we have reunited I have since visited her at her private practice in Santa Monica. Honesty and transparency are two of my core values. Dr. Mansoori inhabits both of these traits and more. I hope this message causes Dr. Raskin to pause and reflect. The patient's first impression is that first touchpoint when one enters the office. Dr Raskin reviewed my medical history and provided healthy lifestyle suggestions for my age group. He is always so friendly and professional. If you are looking for a physician who understands patient's needs--accessibility to either himself or one of his amazing PAs, expert referrals and even a concierge option, look no further. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. PATIENTS & DOCTORS BEWARE! DO NOT let someone you love go here and be mistreated to the point where they are embarrassed, feeling pathetic, and potentially hurt themselves. After MANY patient complaints and alleged acts of malpractice, Dr Raskin still allows his judgmental, inexperienced, mentally destructive wife to make his practice the most uncomfortable and unsafe medical atmosphere ever encountered. No patient's health or well-being should be subjected to major practice oversights. Allegedly, there is a medical ethics complaint case being put together by a group of patients as of September 2024. The practice's only other main doctor literally had to leave immediately due to these terribly dangerous management issues/behaviors that were not being resolved due to the marriage conflict of interest between Dr Raskin and Laura Tan (his wife). Keep in mind, Laura's only prior professional experience was at a nail salon, meaning she has not taken the appropriate medical ethics training courses that are critical when handling sensitive patient issues. It's a shame that after multiple patients AND DOCTORS WORKING AT THE PRACTICE have confronted Dr Raskin, he clearly deems none of these critically ill patients lives above simply ending his wife's intimidation tactics and overall communication with his patients. All this health and safety risk just so his wife can work at the office is ethically and professionally wrong. From day one you will continually witness blatant and dangerous lies from his wife Laura Tan/Raskin from her front desk post, constantly using 'dated patient stereotypes' flaws to fit her narrative when necessary to clean up her mistakes with her husband. You will walk into their waiting room wondering if you just walked into a Saturday Night Live skit, giggling with other patients who are also in disbelief. Here are a few extreme issues encountered at Dr Raskin's Practice - Laura/her office team following her orders, falsely filed with my insurance company and committed pharmacy fraud when she allowed her 'team' to re-fill another patient's prescription under my name to secretly fix an office mistake on their end. I found out because Laura rudely told me (and my own mother who was trying to help me) that they can't be expected to fix these personal insurance issues... after days trying to figure out what happened, CVS specialty care connected the dots and confirmed the office under Laura(Dr. Raskin's wife) had used my name to fill a completely different patient's dosage, which almost caused me not to be able to get my monthly shot because of the type of medicine it was and the required time period between doses. In my more than three decades I have only ever had amazing relationships with my doctor's office, not a feeling like I'm lucky to be in the presence of Laura and her power struggling goons. Things got so bad that myself and my mother as a witness presented everything to Dr Raskin who acted appalled and shocked by her behavior... only for me to be called directly by his wife who then intimated and told me I was no longer able to fit into her husband's appointment schedule and wasn't welcomed at the practice if I didn't pay a $200 new admin fee... after they committed pharmacy fraud due to inadequate admin work! ... This is all in addition to the medical catastrophe that happened on my second visit. The second time I came in, a medical tech who admitted to injecting too much numbing solution prior to my pellet injection under my skin... consequently caused my stomach skin to rupture and cause an open healing wound for 6 months, and a nasty scar resulted. This hiccup of theirs required an outside surgeon's attention and an unplanned $1500 bill that was not covered by insurance. You would think they would at least be kind to me after this debacle, but no.. Laura thought it would be appropriate to schedule me to get this injection again by the same person they promised to never assign me to again, when she was out on vacation with Dr Raskin knowing that this was a huge issue. There are so many people that have stopped going there for help because of this woman. It is time to stop her before her antics hurt anyone else or cease them for trying to save their lives with medications, she acts like she is god's keeper to. In hindsight, I should have turned around day 1 when I witnessed a yelling argument between his wife and the doctor so loud that I was scared there was about to be an altercation. After I witnessed this scary scene, Laura refused to help me charge my dead phone, after my medical team sent me in an uber to the isolated Malibu office. She scolded me like a prison inmate and told me no one there had an iPhone charger, and we cannot help you. I started to cried because I was already scared of being at a faraway place, sick and demeaned of basic respect. I feel really bad having to write this review because Dr Raskin was really nice to me and George at the front desk is wonderful. I understand the office was affected by the Palisades fire and that's no one's fault. Unfortunately I had an appointment and was unable to see Dr Raskin to get my meds due to the fires. I did not receive any sort of referral to another doctor and was left without any of my medication or any doctor to see to get them refilled. I am on medications I have to take every day or I get very sick and start to fall apart. I have had a really bad mental health crisis due to the inability to get my medication. Dr Raskin knew my medications and situation but it is difficult to find a provider who will prescribe my medications and doesn't want to change or mess with anything. I have tried countless times to contact the office to get a referral or see Dr Raskin somewhere else because I am really having a hard time. I have seen like 4 different doctors and they all want to mess with my meds or they refuse to prescribe certain ones. I have been going through one of the worst periods of my life. I have been going to Dr Raskin for over 10+ years. His practice has now changed by charging patients an annual fee of $250 to call in prescriptions! I had objected to this the first time I heard about it in January for Part 1 of my physical. When I went for Part 2 of my physical in May (delay because of LA fires), I objected to this charge again. It was then added to my bill for my annual physical in a very deceptive way - instead of it being sent separately, it was included as part of the physical breakdown as "miscellaneous," which I missed. No mention of this being an annual fee - just "miscellaneous"! I only realized something was off when I got yet another bill for my physical. To get a refund, I had to then speak to the nastiest receptionist/billing/front desk whatever her position is - Laura or Lauren, who literally told me not to talk! "Hold your words as I've already told you we don't refund!". I have never dealt with such an incredibly unprofessional, classless and disrespectful person - ever. I never agreed to this service and find it unethical to not refund a patient for a service they don't want nor agreed to. I will not be returning to Dr Raskin's practice. Dr Raskins is great been going for 10 plus years. I cannot stand Laura anymore she has no business working for him. She is a bully a layer coniving just the worsts they can't keeep anyone in there to stay and work since he is so busy. Finally Dr manshoory came in. I absolutely loved her. I have a lot of things going on with me and she really was helping and I'm so happy because before then I was being passed around to different different person. Every time I went they can't keep anyone there because they left because of Laura she makes the patient cry. I know this cause my father-in-law are doctor and Dr.Mahoney wanted to work at his office in Beverly Hills. Insurance is involved now because I've had many many bills. I have already paid and she keeps sending them to me and there's like there's triple of the same thing on there repetitive items that I have been paying all this time there's always some kind of a fraudulent payment she's asking for She withheld my meds that Dr. Raskin said I could get every two months and she was held them for over a week and it's not a med. You can just stop taking. He's so nice and so great. I don't know what he's doing with her but she's sinking his business I have been so sick and with waiting months to see him because all I see you with the idiots that come and go. I have to start over with every time I go there. I told him I'd be a few minutes late the day before cause I had to get a brreayhingbtreatment at urgent care I remember when Dr. raskintold me that he was a one stop now they don't do any x-rays no breathing treatments. They had a whole bunch of time to tell me I couldn't be late they said see you when you get here. I got there 20 minutes late and she told me I missed my appointment. The one day I needed a doctor so bad she's a horrible person she needs to go back to the nail salon. She's made so many patients cried. He has lost so many patients because of her and I referred a lot of people there and I've gotten it in trouble from people wondering why I would send them to be bullied by her now I have to find a new doctor and I will take everyone with me who I brought there. My father-in-law's are both huge doctors one of them. He just passed away invented the cancer oncology department at Ceders with the worldwide speaker and my other is a very well known like Dr and Beverly Hills and they can't understand why somebody like that works at the front desk. Why I still go there nobody will refer their patients there anymore and I can't even get a hold of Dr. Raskin to tell him what has happened and let him Know if he even cares what his wife does like. I have been a patient of Dr. Raskin for 10 years. I get a yearly physical. I never have paid for this as it's covered by my insurance. I just received a bill in the mail for $275. I thought there might be some mistake, so I called the office. It turns out that they are now charging physicals as a "60 minute consultation with Dr. Raskin". That is ridiculous. Even my insurance company has never seen this before and actually laughed at it. (Even if it was a 60min consultation, which it wasn't, Dr. Raskin only talked with me for at max 30 minutes). Hey Dr. Raskin, think maybe you'd want to notify your clients of your billing changes? Maybe you should say "hey just a heads up we are now going to charge you a quarter thousand dollars for that"? Think that would be wise? I contacted Laura in the billing department. I was extremely friendly and I tried to discuss the matter. Right away she took a rude tone with me. She then said she was going on vacation for 4 weeks and to call back when she gets back. Weeks later, after trying to get a hold of her, we talk again. I told her that there was a mistake and I should have been charged for a physical. Her response was "don't tell me how to do my job". Wow. She said I was being "dismissive of Dr. Raskin's work". I called and everyone has always been extremely helpful when helping me schedule an appointment however, I had the displeasure of getting to speak with Laura who was very unprofessional. I called and asked to schedule an appointment for a checkup and she said I already had a checkup this year. I said oh, I'm sorry, I meant just an appointment. She asked what it was concerning and I said medication. The "GOOD" Doctor Now of days it is truly difficult to find a "GOOD" doctor that really cares and knows about all your medical conditions. It's almost impossible to find a doctor that will spend more than 10 minutes with you in the tiny patient room. Well, Dr. Raskin is the "GOOD" doctor. This is a difficult review to write because my family member's life has been changed for the better having had the good fortune of being referred to Dr. Raskin and being cared for by Dr.Mansoori who was, at the time, working in Dr. Raskin's office. Dr. Mansoori gets 10+ stars!!.....Dr. Raskin hired an extraordinary physician to join his staff and when I accompanied the patient to their visits and met both doctors, I felt confident of their expertise. The problem was...and this is huge...the front desk. I am a 60+ yr old that has a degree in the medical field so I respect the profession immensely. When working with office manager Laura over the phone discussing appointments, procedures, insurance (PPO insurance!)...let's just say there was little to no compassion for the patient's situation and she was quite arrogant and rude. I was present in the exam room when this patient courageously informed Dr. Raskin of the issues with front desk (wife) Laura and how it could keep patients that needed help from ever returning and thus feeling helpless with their addictions. Dr. Raskin said thank you for the input and he was sorry to hear about these issues but obviously he has heard this before and has chosen not to address. HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLET: All I wanted to do was send a follow up visit photo and Asked for the doctors email... Two weeks ago I called with a sudden bad dual eye infection from Carbuncle boils staph infection. Unfortunately, Ellen Corn, the physicians assistant (PA) came in instead of me insisting on seeing a real doctor, Dr Raskin, who I had originally asked for. I paid a $65 co-pay and showed Ellen in a PHYSICAL OFFICE VISIT the infection that were in both eyes. I also showed her other boils that were clearing up or just popping out. I showed her each of these but told her I felt like I had a handle on treating them and didn't want the internal antibiotic she had recommended just yet. I requested that we just address my eyes. I do NOT like taking antibiotics as my health was ruined for 40 years from over zealous doctors at USC when I was a teen athlete there. I told her I would call if the other boils became a problem, which within a week one did become a problem and I did call back. The office insisted that I come back for another $65 office visit and I said no, I have already paid an office visit and the doctor saw this and I would like to get the antibiotic. They did not know which antibiotic to prescribe so I suggested one that my mother had taken for something that was similar. Her doctor had given her 20 pills. Dr. Raskin's office gave me 14 pills, which were not enough. I called the doctors Office today and requested their email address as I wanted to send them a current photo and letter about the updated WORSE condition of the carbuncle Boil on my leg that got completely out of control. I feel I need more antibiotics. One of my chiropractors said that it was MRSA staph infection and needed three antibiotics. THE OFFICE REFUSED TO GIVE ME AN EMAIL TO SEND THE PHOTOS and instead said to use outdated FAX machine to send the photo! After I hung up irritated, my phone rang immediately and I told Brittany I was angry that I could not get an email address. Instead of listening to me, it became a lecture rather than a two way conversation, I hung up and I said don't worry, I will post the email and my message to you on social media. It's much more convenient for me to post here than send a fax to their office. During a Plandemic, all they care about the cash derived from $65 office visits and the commissions and bonuses obtained from prescriptions they write. If they did care about me, they would have been overjoyed that I was following up and showing them my progress. I explained to Brittany that $65 is a lot for me right now- two weeks of groceries at the 99 cent only store. If they REALLY CARED, they would be compassionate about my financial situation. Nope, give me the money! UPDATE: Lecturer and office manager Brittany called me back after I went online and got an email address on their website. She proceeded to lecture me, not participate in a two way conversation, regarding what SHE BELIEVED actually happened. She stated that I needed to come in and be seen or go to the emergency room. I tried to explain the incompetent PA gave me the wrong prescription for what I had and gave me too few pills, AFTER SEEING IT WITH HER OWN EYES. She said the PA didn't see cysts in the previous visit and that I called on the phone for a prescription. I tried numerous times to correct her inaccurate statements but she RUDELY said she wanted to finish her lecture before I was allowed to speak. I told her what she was saying was wrong several times and that I WAS seen for this condition in their office but that was HER STORY and she was sticking to it no matter what I said. You know what they say when you ASSuMe. I finally realized that this was a waste of my time listening to her boring lecture so I was forced to hang up. When you cannot participate in a two way conversation with your doctors office, what's the point of trying to interject the facts? How would you like this to be YOUR DOCTORS OFFICE? No warm and fuzzy here. From the minute you walk into the busy lobby, the machine of faceless staff members scurrying around, calling and being put on hold forever each time you call to the cold hearted staff who are all about the money snd making those appointments. It's truly sad this is what has become of our medical system. I guess that's why 30 years ago, I started looking into alternative medicine for my family's health. I was referred him personally from a specialist after experiencing some pretty serious complications from surgery, I had always been super healthy prior to the surgery and didn't have a regular doctor! I wrote about this office a few years ago but I feel inspired to write again. I am so touched by this office and their true concern for their patients. This office truly cares. Liz at the front office spent practically the entire day on getting me into a specialist, it was urgent and I needed to see someone right away. She never made me feel like I was annoying like many offices can when u have an urgent matter. When there is a medical issue and you feel afraid, to have a Dr and their staff that care about u makes such a huge difference in how u feel. I know what the opposite experience feels like and it can be so frustrating and scary. RASKIN I have been coming here for a few years now. Since around October of 2019. Dr. Damon Raskin is by far the best doctor I have ever met. He is HONEST, kind and I suppose the most important, HELPFUL! He always, without a doubt has the best treatment for you, sometimes even a course of treatments that allows you as the patient to opt for what is beat of the options. I honestly am trying to think of a better way to phrase this all. But in my opinion. I wouldn't rather have anyone else looking after my health and future on this planet. Please disregard any negative comments heard or seen regarding him or his practice. I've been there a million times. And I can promise you, without hesitation. You will be happy. Satisfied. And will be scheduling a return appointment, simply because it does not get better anywhere else. Also to any who may be thinking I'm writing this because I was asked to or because I am somehow related, that would be absolutely not! I wouldn't post a doctor Reccomendation unless I meant every single word. I hope this helps anyone who may be in search of a new doctor! Dr Raskin is my Primary physician and I wouldn't have anyone else. He always makes me feel like I'm his most important patient although I know he's has many. His sense of caring combined with his cutting edge medical knowledge makes Damon Raskin the best in my book. Dr Raskin goes above and beyond what many doctors would do to give himself to his patients. He has treated me for 8 years now and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my health care. His staff are all very professional and friendly and respectful of your time. Unlike other doctors that will gladly make you wait for an hour because they overbook, they do not. I rarely wait more than 5-10 minutes to be seen. The one day they were a little behind the first thing Dr Raskin said was "I'm sorry to keep you waiting." I wanted to share a recent excellent experience with Dr. Raskin's office staff. In an attempt to schedule an urgent CT scan during the last week of the year, my insurance company was requiring additional documentation, a peer review, and provided a 1-2 week timeline. Despite the office having a full appointment schedule during the Holidays, Raisa and Frank were very helpful in expediting, coordinating, and ultimately getting the "urgent" approval needed within 2 business days. This was very helpful for health reasons and saved me thousands of (insurance) dollars by scheduling this test before the year-end. Thanks team! read more

Dr. Raskin is my new Dr. I've been looking for over a year for a great, solid Dr. who also runs an incredibly efficient office. I have a chronic pain condition so I need a Concierge Dr. who can see me regularly on short notice. After interviewing several Drs from the valley to the West side, I finally found my medical home. Dr. Raskin is so efficient that you never wait to get in when arriving for an appt. The office is friendly, kind and knows what they are doing. Dr. Raskin is warm and approachable. Those complaining about him not being available is because he has two types of services in his practice. Those who need extra care, like me, which have an additional yearly fee which you pay extra for, but he also allows patients to come who aren't concierge, which means you will wait a longer time to see the Dr., but if you need to get help immediately, he has a fantastic nurse practitioner who not only helped me with an infection, she also called to see how I was feeling the next day, and adjusted my medications when additional symptoms started to appear. Dr. Raskin also has a whole host of services in house that make it easier. I just had a physical where I had my blood work taken and completed by the office (no going to Quest etc.). No wait. No fuss. They also did my EKG in the office. AND my bone density. It is early in my relationship with this new office, but in a world filled with poor, inexperienced, low staffed operations, Dr. Raskin's office is a welcoming island of excellence! To his patients who are complaining about wanting to see him more, if you go that regularly, investing in the Concierge service is well worth it. Most practices are going in that direction. Unless you belong to Kaiser etc. And most Dr's who offer Concierge rarely bother to ALSO see non- concierge patients. Another reason Dr. Raskin is so great. My husband and daughter will be seeing him and his nurse practitioner as they don't need the constant care that I do. Run don't walk before his practice is too full to join. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Raskin's concierge service. He is available 24/7 to answer any questions and/or concerns. My wait time is close to nothing and same day appointments are usually available. I just left from my annual physical. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Way too go!!! read more

This was the last straw with Raskin. I was a patient of his for over 3 years. I have anthem blue cross PPO - which is a covered insurance by his office. I have had nothing but problems with his BILLING company. I have been double charged for services in the past, that I had to call my insurance company to dispute. I have had to pay for countless, advanced "Urine Tox Screens" that Raskin charges so he can get more $ out of my pocket. I have since been to other doctors who all agree that his Urine Tox Screens are excessive and unnecessary. A simple urine test would accomplish the same task, but of course doesn't have the big price tag (aka REIMBURSEMENT) on it. Moran of story: There is always a BIG bill when it comes to Raskin and his accomplices. The last straw was this: it is now march and I am still being billed for services that I have already paid for in SEPTEMBER. I was assured that the bill I paid in December for my September visit was the final payment I had to pay. Then, this month , I get another bill for the same services of SEPTEMBER. More charges from Raskins office I would hate to see what his services cost without insurance. The sad reality of this Suboxone doctor, like many others, is that money is their #1 priority - and if it doesn't come from the insurance companies pocket, it's coming out of yours. Moral of the story: he's a good doctor but you will have to PAY for the slightly above average service you receive. read more

I'm a new subscriber to Health Net and I've been assigned Dr Raskin as my primary physician. Honestly, I'm not thrilled about changing my current physician but insurance coverage dictates that I do. I just got off the phone with Brittney who answered the phone when I called to make my first appointment. I had lots of questions and she couldn't have been more patient, kind, knowledgeable and understanding of some of my concerns. This is the third review I've ever written on Yelp. At 59 I'm not a social media guy but felt that people reading these reviews should hear about my experience. I've been a patient of Dr. Raskin's since 1995. He has always been engaged, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and responsive. His practice has grown quite a bit in the last 25 years (because he's so good), and there are times when he doesn't have A LOT of time, but he has never failed to MAKE time when I needed him, to call me back when I've had a medical question, to recommend and consult with specialists when needed, to get me in to see him ASAP when I have a pressing issue. His front office is always professional, courteous and knowledgeable (very helpful during Covid). I trust Dr. Raskin with my health, and that has led, every day for the past 25 years, to my well being. read more

Dr Raskin has been our Doctor for a long time. His staff is outstanding, his nurse has been there forever, his PA, Jennifer is outstanding, experienced and extremely capable. If I don't have an advanced appointment, I always can get in to see Jennifer and Dr. Raskin stops in to make sure all is well. This office is efficient, consistant, well organized, clean, up to date magazines in waiting room although very prompt in getting you in immediately or close to appt time. I have been seeing Dr. Raskin for over 15 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about him and his entire staff. From the moment you walk in you are greeting by Liz who is amazingly patient and understanding to all your needs and concerns. Next, I am taken back and weighed by a staff member and usually greeted by Doctor Raskin himself, who is walking in and out of patient rooms. Finally, I am taken to a room where I am treated by either Doctor Raskin or one of his amazing P.A.'s who address and track my every concern and moniter my health progress to a T. For a scheduled visit I am usually seen right away, and when they are crazy busy I wait a Maximum of 10 minutes before being seen. Great bedside manner! They are Efficient but not so efficient that it feels like they are rushing you out the door. The entire staff really takes the time to listen and is super friendly! read more

BEWARE this office is very unprofessional and you will never meet Dr. Raskin himself but different people each time. They will lose your payments and continue to bill you for the amount you have already paid over and over again. If you do not pay close attention you will be paying bills from them over and over again unless you supply them with an actual copy of your cashed check which still have to call and follow up to make sure they have actually credited your account. I paid a bill for $205 in February and have been going back and forth with them to credit my account since then and today finally someone actually said they did it. I will wait for my new invoice lets see if this review may get them to send me a corrected invoice. read more

The nurse practitioners are very nice, but I went there 2 times to get a SPECIFIC test done, waited an agonizing 10, TEN days, only for them to then tell me the lab lost the results. Second time they said 'for some reason the lab didn't do that one'......TWICE THIS HAPPENED. not to mention I NEVER GET A CALL until AFTER 6! And it takes 6 months to see Raskin for a physical beacause he comes in so rarely. Done. This was my last straw and I really feel I need to take the time to warn people not to have tests done here. They screw them up. It's a bumbling mess over there. And desk staff can be WAY nicer, omg. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Raskin for many years and cant say enough good things about him as a Doctor, a Professional and as a Human being. Him and his staff have been terrific over the years. Very thorough, he leave no stones un-turned. He cares and is available when I have questions and need help with something outside of my appointments. He also keeps excellent records so he knows what to look for when I see him for my yearly physical. I typically get my results the next day after my visits and I always receive a personal call from Dr Raskin for his review with me.
