DO NOT GO TO PETER SMITH MOTORCYCLES!! after two terrible experiences i have been warning everyone i know away. my first scooter i got from him as a runabout would not stop!! the only thing that saved me was quick reflexes and taking the key out to cut the engine and running it into a brick wall after having to duck under the barrier of the car park in order to keep my head.
i gave him the benefit of the doubt and went to him again as he was the only guy in the area this time i got a 125 Honda cbr, the breaks were binding so badly the wheel was glowing and even after cleaning them myself 3 times i took it to a different mechanic for a second opinion and was quoted about £2000 to fix all the things wrong with it. i had to buy a new back tyre which was so badly worn it was illegal (and was put on the wrong way) after only having the bike for 3 months which was followed a few weeks later with the engine falling out while i was riding it in the full flow of traffic on a roundabout.
...oh and after seeing the engine in bits i realised that it was held together with bits of copper wire, plastic tubing, sellotape and the wrong parts including a car spark plug what was forced in and held with tape.
i hope sharing my experiences will show you that going to Peter Smith would be a BIG MISTAKE!!!!! read more
