They also had not saved seating directly behind the immediate family for other close family members (this is done out of respect for the family) even though this is normal professional courteous procedure. And there was not enough parking in their lot making it difficult for people who had to park out on the street (during rain) especially for those who were elderly and/or disabled. Gim made my family feel comfortable with this portion of the process while respecting our grief, providing the needed details, ranging from transport to paperwork. It cost more to ship in a casket instead of using a transport casket . Family will now pay for 2 funerals all because of this con artist employee & my Dads casket will not match my mothers casket or my Dads wishes. If this employee would have called the destination Mortuary he could have gotten the gasket information to match . But he was to lazy & incompetent & obviously had his own agenda !! I called our local "new" SHINKLE funeral home in town thinking, small town, small price. This is NOT the case. Direct cremation was $2873. That's, no service, no container, that's it. After we put him to rest in southern Oklahoma, I called several funeral homes. They are required by law to give prices over the phone. Out of 10 places I called AFFINITY was the cheapest and most reasonable at $1267, along with a black cremation urn. They were curtious and informative. I will definitely be doing business with them and I will tell my 600 member church about them. I feel we were taken advantage of in our small little town.
