Consumer Beware! Learn from my mistakes. There are many good, qualified and professional CPA's in…read morethe Rockwall area, Steven is NOT among them. Steven has now received 6 voice mails, 2 live messages (via his receptionist) and 4 emails from me over a 6-week period. All have gone without a single response. He is quick to issue a bill and nonexistant when it comes to assisting his clients. 12 attempts in 6-weeks to reach him and after the review he calls me trying to get me to take it down. That explains his service model in a nutshell - self preservation without concern for his clients. My interaction is errily similar to a Google review posted by 1philcam. My calls/emails were all in reference to a $1,645 penalty letter I received from the IRS stating I din't file my business taxes on time. I was Steven's client at the time and he assured me that this had been done. His assistant stated she put my letter and emails it in his return call file but he refuses to return calls over this matter further proving his lack of professionalism and immaturity. Please, learn from my lessons, save yorself the headaches I and other have had and simply take your business to a qualifird CPA. Most of Steven's positive reviews are 4 to 5 years old and something has clearly chaged since that time.

We went to Steven when we were opening our first business. He handled our personal and business…read moretaxes that year. He said we ended up owing the IRS $40,000. We started making $650 payments each and every month. Months later we then figured out we were supposed to be paying a "sales and use tax" that we had no idea about. It was our very first business and we were lost. We talked with the Comptroller, and they extended our date as long as we filed by the new date they had given us. We went to visit Steven to do our taxes again and he agreed that he would file the Sales and Use tax. We told him about the situation and explained that the taxes had to be filed by that date. Five days before the deadline I started calling and emailing to make sure we were on track. I would call every morning and then again in the afternoon. As well as emailing him daily. I heard nothing back. The deadline date came and went and we still hadn't heard anything. I had to call the comptroller to see if our taxes had been filed and they had not! They said that since we missed the deadline we had to come up with the ENTIRE back amount plus fees and penalties or they were going to shut our business down until it was paid. We were absolutely beside ourselves, and I kept trying to get ahold of him. I finally got ahold of him and he said they had already been filed. I called the comptroller back and that same afternoon is when he filed. Steven had flat out lied that they had already been filed. He hadn't filed them until AFTER he told me they had been filed. Then we had to work and beg the comptroller to allow us to make payments. Steven tried to get us to file an extension and tried to make the situation better by filing a form to see if we could get our penalties back. By that time, though, I had already talked to them and filled out that same form and had taken care of everything. Days of thinking we were going to be shut down and scrambling to come up with the money to keep that from happening. Having a new business is stressful enough, trying to make ends meet with a new business is even harder. Then you throw this on top of everything, it was one of the most stressful times we had in opening our business. All because he wouldn't return calls and wouldn't do the job he was paid for doing. Because of him we even had to pay more fees. He never dared to bill us for our last taxes. We took our taxes to another CPA. That CPA was not only able to get the $40,000 dismissed but he got back all the payments we had been making as well. It's very sad because he has the ability to cause a HUGE amount of issues since you're dealing with the IRS! I wouldn't go to Steven if he were the last CPA on earth. You're better off managing through it on your own.

I was sent to a weld shop in Garland by a tire shop in Rowlett for a cracked aluminum wheel. Later…read moreI returned to the weld shop for a design I created out of the blue. I hose clamped a 2 3/8" 8' steel post to another same but cemented post actually part of a fence. I did this twice and tied a cable in between for a purpose not necessary to explain. The strain was pulling the mated pole, thus the fence pole and the whole fence inward. My solution (because I could not bury the sister poles) was to slide them into a slightly wider pipe, welded to a plate (foot) and gusseted to keep the large L shape from breaking the weld. The assembled foot keeps the pole from tilting inward. The weld shop suggested I go buy the materials at Centennial. It was heavy covid time. They asked me to stay in my car. A helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, professional gentleman came to my car, reviewed my design and list of supplies. While I waited, they made sure all of the stock was there, came back with a price which was very reasonable, and then cut everything to my specs. They had that in the car in about a half an hour. It was everything I wanted, on demand, customized, cheaply, warmly, and put in my car. I was flat out amazed. I took it to the welder and they put it all together for me while I had lunch. It's been working like a charm for a couple years or so. I'm now working on another custom project and looked them back up. I've since revived my old Yelp account and now can tell you all what an amazing one of a kind business this is. I could not have gotten what I needed from a big box store. Online would have cost a fortune. So go to them not only when you need the rare items only they can get you, go to them instead of the big box store for angle, flat stock, pipes, etc. Support businesses like this or they won't be there.
