Dr Bovenzi performed a face lift, forehead lift, and buccal fat removal less than 2 years ago. He told me that I did not need an eye lift as the forehead lift would remedy that issue (it did not). My jowls are already starting to sag and I was left with 2 dents in my upper forehead, scars above both eyebrows, uneven ears and one earlobe that is totally attached to the side of my upper jaw. When I visited him with my concerns, he only offered to unattached the one earlobe. The nice Dr. Bovenzi was no longer present as he insulted me by telling me ears were always uneven and by the way, my eyes were uneven, too. Now, I am already scheduling surgery with a reputable plastic surgeon for surgical repairs and a face lift, eye-lift, and laser to hopefully remove/improve the scaring. He gave me a lip lift and ruined the cartilage in my nose. Also, now I have pig lips. He took skin from my abdomen and put it in the entire area under my nose instead of just around the mouth area. I have been to another cosmetic surgeon and they don't want to touch it. This has been like this since I woke up from surgery and he just kept saying it will get better. Fast forward 7 years and I have decided to change careers and get into teaching and want to look my best at 55. I reached out and was advised to do a mini lift -eyelid lift and laser for the low price of $24,000. At this time Dr Smith was no longer doing surgery so I was set up with Dr. Bovenzi. I look the same, minimal improvements and when I reached out to point this out, the front office staff rudely told me I was age appropriate-well I was age appropriate prior to giving them $24,000! 10 months later I have went to several reputable plastic surgeons and none of them can believe I had the procedures less than a year ago and have recommended redoing! Please get additional opinions before you spend a ton of money and possibly end up with no results! I had rhinoplasty here and I wish I had never gone in. I did not get the result I had discussed in depth prior to the procedure even though we went over photos and I was told they could definitely shape the tip in the way I desired. I also had a small deformity develop in the outer part of my nose after a year of waiting for the final result along with cartilage bulging inside of my nose. I felt the staff was frequently rude and very condescending when trying to arrange a follow up appointment and expressing these concerns. When trying to discuss a revision in person, I was told to wait in a room while the assistant showed before and after pictures to Dr. Smith in private. I was then told I had a "difficult nose" to start with. They said there wasn't much they could do and that they were proud of their work, completely disregarding my feelings. They said no one could notice unless I pointed it out even though the outer bump that formed is definitely obvious. They didn't offer any resolution and just said it's always open for discussion. They also said that muscle memory is a thing and the nose can return to its original shape over the years, which I researched extensively and if this is an issue, I read that it means the procedure was not done correctly and should not happen. This wasn't even my situation, so I'm not sure why they mentioned it. They repeatedly said they were pleased with their result despite my disappointment after spending over $10K. I was also seeking a co2 laser before my rhinoplasty and they said it was best to do it after. They didn't even offer a discount on that. I went to another triple board certified surgeon I had previously seen as an option before my rhinoplasty and showed her the before and after photos. After examining the internal and external structure of my nose, she said she could see exactly what I was talking about and that yes, the bump formed was noticeable. Friends and family noticed too. Now I'm stuck having to pay another 10K or more for revision elsewhere. I really regret settling for this place. read more

I will speak to the disfiguring he did of my nose with repairing a skin graft on my nose after skin cancer. He swore it would be improvement and the reality was he took a perfect skin graft, removed it and proceeded to change the shape of my nose and leave a more damaging scar. Smith will dance around your concerns post-surgery and will do nothing to reimburse OR pay the competent provider to fix his botch. And his facelifts?---joke. He simply pulls back the top layer and stitches it. This is not a facelift--a true facelift takes several hours and pulls back the deeper layers. His "facelift" will fall within one year or sooner, AND you will feel when it gives/falls. Misrepresentation and fraud is Smith. Do not schedule any surgery with Dr Brent Smith. Not even a consultation. He will appear to be capable. He is now not. Dr Smith did a mini face and neck lift for me 13 years go. I was very pleased with the results. One year ago he repeated the procedures to deal primarily with my sagging jowl pouches and neck. I had very minimal improvement. It cost almost $20,000. Yes, $20,000. At the 3 month follow up meeting, I discussed my concerns: still hanging right and left jowls and new deep crease in the right one; fleshy globs behind right ear; stretch ridges from my chin to my ears and other lesser concerns. After 5 months I met with Lorayn, then Dr Smith and Lorayn about the same ongoing concerns. Ultimately, Dr Smith recommended intense ablative procedure (with very difficult recovery) saying it would greatly improve texture of skin (not the sagging jowls). Scheduling appointments with Smith Cosmetic was extremely difficult and I was very patient. Lorayn would never respond until 2 or 3 weeks later after I had emailed her. After several more in-office (during Covid) visits, looking at SAME condition of my face, it was finally agreed that Dr Smith would do fat injections to fill out my sagging jowls. I was to schedule for 1 year after initial surgery. Starting in August, I tried to schedule and I never got responses from Lorayn. I am so frustrated at how unprofessional they have been and how difficult they are to communicate with. As much as I hated for them to "win", I sent a final email to Lorayn saying that I give up trying to schedule. I definitely do not trust Dr Smith to do anymore procedures and potentially make things even worse. They were not willing to even consider partial restitution. Do not use Dr Brent Smith. February 2020 I had a facelift, browlift, and lower blepharoplasty done by Dr. Brent Smith. I am extremely unhappy with my results. I did not want to be stretched out in freakish way but I hoped that approximately 18K would give me a much improved and "refreshed" look. Sadly that has not happened , and my friends and family agree. Dr. Smith was so conservative in doing my face and brow surgery that myself others have not noticed much improvement at all. I continue to have naso-labial folds, sagging around my mouth and the lift of my brow is almost non-existent. Extremely upsetting is that I have visible scarring and indentations along the incision lines under my eyes from the blepharoplasty. Dr. Smith has offered to laser under my eyes to help smooth out the scarring which I believe should NEVER have occurred. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on plastic surgery and come out not looking any different to your friends, or, family, then Dr. Smith is the one to see. Dr. Smith errs on the side of caution. Dr. Smith performed a rhinoplasty and cheek/neck lift on me in 2018. My ENT doctor had recommended a turbinate reduction for my chronic congestion due to allergic and non allergic rhinitis. I decided to combine this with a rhinoplasty. Dr. Smith, in his introductory letter, noted that a turbinoplasty would indeed benefit the functional aspect of my nose and that a rhinoplasty plus a cheek/neck lift would improve the appearance of my face. So, I went ahead with this. After the required healing period, my nose was still very prominent and my jowls were still sagging. I was also still congested. Dr. Smith and Lorayn, his practice manager, agreed that a revision rhinoplasty was in order. Lorayn suggested filler for the cheeks, which one would have thought unnecessary having gone through a lift! The following year when I went back to see Dr. Smith, I mentioned to him that I had to undergo a third surgery to reduce my turbinates with my ENT doctor because Dr. Smith had not adequately reduced them, but merely pushed them aside. He was very offended that I asked for a partial refund for the turbinates and practically threw me out of his office. Lorayn later phoned me and said she would like to advocate for me as well as Dr. Smith, but when I told her what I wanted she dismissed me altogether as ungrateful and said that everything they did for me was for my own happiness! The truth is I spent thousands of dollars and still have a big nose and sagging jowls. I grew up with a crippling insecurity about my nose. Actually...other things as well lol...but the nose got all the insults and wisecracks from people, so that was what I obsessed over. I waited forever to get a nose job because a) it was so flipping expensive, and b) what if the surgery went wrong? Well I finally couldn't take it anymore, ended up biting the bullet, and had a rhino done by another Dr. here in Denver. Ugh!! It turned out extremely crooked and one side collapsed over time. I couldn't afford to fix it right away, so just had to live with it for a few years. Crippling insecurity + botched surgery = borderline suicidal. lol I have to laugh about it, but know this is an honest review. Anyone considering this type of surgery can relate to how stressful and life consuming insecurities can be. Once I saved up enough money and did my proper research, I found my way to Dr. Smith's office. I think I got his name from his appearances on the Extreme Makeover TV show. He was extremely nice and confident...and didn't make any false promises. Dr. Smith even gave me references to other top facial surgeons. When I called those other surgeons, they gave Dr. Smith solid reviews as well...so I closed my eyes and moved forward with another few years of savings. He said we probably were not going to get a perfect outcome given the bad shape my nose was in...but he did aim for it and gave me hope I could live a life without obsessing about it. Well he did a phenomenal job. My profile is PERFECT. He raised the tip...reshaped the bridge...just a spectacular job. One side is a LITTLE asymmetrical, but it's not noticeable to anyone else but me. Given the awful mess my nose was in going into this office...the fact he could salvage it and make something so great is really impressive. I have no doubt that if I would have went to him first, it would be a perfect 10. This review comes maybe 6 years later, and it's stood the test of time. I've had procedures (lower blepharoplasty, fillers, fractional laser and a mini face-lift) done by Dr.Smith over the past 10 years and I have absolutely loved the results! My mini face-lift was done 5 years ago (I was only 40 but have always had very stretchy skin), and my results were amazing. And they continue to be amazing! People can't believe I'm 45. But here is what I love about Dr. Smith: his work is very natural. You never look pulled or artificial. My mom also had a face-lift, brow lift, fillers and ablative laser, and she looked incredible after she healed (and yes, the healing process was a little rough for her). She had just recently retired and when former co-workers saw her they would say "Wow! You look great! Retirement has really agreed with you!" It's comical because other people don't really pay attention to our appearance the way we do, but it's also a testament to how natural Dr. Smith's work is. I would give Dr Smith zero stars but it has taken me years to write this review. I had him do a scar revision on my lip years ago. He came into the exam room smelling of body order. Being a sexual abuse survivor I was paralyzed. I allowed him to cut into my face not wearing gloves or putting down a surgical drape. The next day I woke up to an infected lip. I went back to Dr Smith he took the sutures out then stitched the infection back into my face. A few days later I returned with a gaping infected lip. He then took the stiches out and sent me home with antibiotics. Two weeks later he stitched me up again. 15 years late my lip looks worse than before. My OBGYN brought up his. And at my last exam and stated that she had 4 complaints against him and asked if I had heard of him and then suggested I tell my experience . Stay away from this man and his office. I had a facelift (included the neck because they don't give you the option to exclude it) in April 2017. It took forever to heal after the extreme trauma to my face and neck. I have not been happy with the results...when I look in the mirror I feel like I need a facelift! I have wrinkles and sagging skin, so obviously the facelift didn't benefit me. Dr. Smith is a miracle worker when it comes to his excellent surgery skills combined with his top shelf staff and anesthesiologist. I had a face lift in 2004 (sometimes known as a mini-facelift) that included getting rid of the bags above and under my eyes that made me look sleepy), laser resurfacing on my face to get rid of the many blemishes I had as a 55 year old man that was out in the sun way too much with scars that miraculously disappeared after the surgery, and a neck chemical peel for blending the transition between my neck and face. Still to this day (12 years later) I don't look as old as I did before the surgery. I went from looking tired and angry with facial skin that was very sun-damaged, to looking 20 years younger and no more dermatologist visits every two months to have damaged areas either cut, burned, or frozen off of my face. I have also returned for Botox injections to keep my face smoothed out since I have a tendency to frown or smile more than the average person. Having had such an excellent experience in 2004 and my wife seeing the changes from that operation, she decided to have a severe scar on the bridge of her nose repaired and rhinoplasty to make her nose look more "dignified" since her nose was a little larger than she liked. The results were fantastic and amazing based on Dr. Smith's work. It has been about 6 weeks since she had her surgery and I find myself complementing her nose almost every day because of Dr. Smith's fine skills.
