Currently, I serve in the United States Army, and I run and lift weights a lot. Unfortunately, the military does not provide chiropractic referrals, so we must pay out of pocket for those services. I appreciate the fact that Doc T is a prior service Marine and takes pride in providing a military discount for all military personnel. On my 2nd visit , which lasted 9 mins, Sr Smith told me he doesn't do muscles and I would need to see another Doctor in his office. I was truly perplexed and annoyed because I would not have been there if I was not in pain, I am very upset and a little angry for being treated that way This was my first visit to any chiropractor , I did not know what to expect , the staff was very helpful, but a chiropractor who does not do muscles?? So far so good! I've been to two adjustments so far and feel as though I've accomplished more in these two appointments than I have in months in other offices. I had my first visit with Dr. Smith earlier this month. He was the second chiropractor I had ever visited and it was only my third ever adjustment. Dr. Smith did much more during my visit than the other doctor had, which was a pleasant surprise. I felt like I was getting more out of my time and a thorough treatment. The atmosphere in the building was very relaxing and Dr. Smith's friendly demeanor put me at ease. I felt like I had accomplished what I had set out to do after my adjustment and was confident that my body was back in proper alignment. I was, however, very achy in the areas of my back that he adjusted for more than a week after the visit, although I was told the pain usually only lasts up to 48 hours. The only reason that I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 though is because during one of my back adjustments, while I was lying on my left side, my hand must have been out of place because when Dr. Smith pushed on my back, that same force also pushed my hand into my upper ribs. I felt pain in my rib during the actual adjustment, but it wasn't until about an hour after I left that I realized that my rib must have been bruised. I had bruised my lower ribs a couple times in the recent past by leaning over an arm rest in my car to reach a bag of groceries, and then again by leaning over my daughter's crib when lowering her into it. I figure because I am thin and petite and therefore do not have much padding over my rib cage, my ribs are more susceptible to bruising. I had to breathe shallow breaths the day after the adjustment because of the pain, but thankfully the bruising went away altogether within a few days. read more
