Like I said , I tried to text you but you blocked me.

So I filled a form online as I am shopping around for a nursing school because Concord FT accelerated program was a disaster due to no structure, lack of accountability, tons of room for errors and the teacher not knowing dosage caculations and constantly changing the testing/lectures . I called and was transferred to student affairs for more information in regards to their hybrid program. I was on hold for 4 long minutes so they can transfer me back to admissions. So I hung up. I got a call back from a guy who states I. Going to run down the bullet points for you , then you tell me if you have questions. So he's telling me about the Wonderlic, the Days , the Essay and the Program. I asked for more literature sent to my email to compare other schools. He said he didn't have any ,but ran down what I needed to submit to move forward. So I asked him to confirm what he said over the phone to be clear And this was his response. What I did was Opt out because I had gotten 2 messages back to back never blocked him, if this was the case he wouldn't have been able to get through over the phone. His response "like I said " don't sit right . This isn't effective Communication but passive communication and for this I become hesitant to go to him directly. And choose completely another school. This is for the Wilshire (LA) Area

COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW IN THE PICS CONCLUSION: My experience with the school was outstanding from the start till the finish. I love that everytime I call the school they will do their best to connect you to the department that you need. They answer the phone efficiently. Also they are very good in sending out notifications thru email whether there is a job fair, or simply if your books are ready. Their career service department which is led by Ms.Michelle is very good, they will check up on you every now then in regards to when are you going to take the licensure exam or if you have any jobs prospects. This only shows that even after you finish the program they still care about you. They also validate tickets if you ever need to go to school in person. They are also very responsive when it comes to emails. Overall I highly recommend this school if you ever wanted to go into medical imaging. They are an institution in this field so its guaranteed that you are in safe hands. Like I said IT IS TOUGH but all those will be so beneficial once you take the licensure exam. One of the professors once said "it is better to struggle in class than struggle during the licensure exam". THANK YOU WCUI!

This is an UPDATE! ONTARIO CAMPUS! I decided to give this school another try so I am partially to blame for my experience. I had enough time to re-enroll I went to orientation at a hotel near the school that should have been a red flag to start . I ordered my uniforms easy process, uniforms did not fit because you order them online and cannot return them because it has school logo embroidery on it. I got my books as well easy process too. Now it's time for classes to start it's 10/02. Our instructor was not there the first week of class. We had someone stand in for her that had no interest in teaching us. Nasty attitude, very short with us and extremely rude. She has no business working with the public in my opinion. This is a Hybrid program only on Tue and Thursday eve. The first instructor was more focused on nails, clothes and ATI. We had a quiz the third day of the program but did not go over the power points for the quiz nor have lecture. So day one no lecture and on Day 2 17 min of lecture. The sub kept saying the instructor would kill her if she did not go over The PowerPoint, the PP wasn't up to par. It was let's say 4 pictures of a skeleton and 8-10 terms. Remind you we needed to read 6 chapters or something close to it. We were stressed no direction and guess what this was only day two and day three we had a quiz that they pushed to day 4. We also had 4 homework assignments due that consist of several questions on ATI in which a few classmates did not have access and they did not care. DAY 3: Our instructor returns she didn't go over what would be on the quiz. The wheels kept rolling we were already looking at Day 3-4 .Not able to retain anything because we had to read and figure it out on our own. I did email our real instructor for help and that's where the issues started instead of her telling me the focal point she said read the chapters. So you're reading 6 maybe more chapters a week in different books, then you're going to clinical on the weekend and focusing on something else. You're all over the place. It's no structure and that's where the struggle comes in. This program sets you up for failure. The first exam I got 78 with NO HELP from the school. We have a group chat and everyone was around the low to mid 70's. I was not happy at all. I used my resources scheduled with the student services she was pleasant she was doing what they pay her to do run game on the students. Make us feel like we have no issues it's all in our heads . And she did just that . I told her I wasn't happy with the program or my grade her response was at least you passed. You need to lower your expectations. And I thought maybe she's right maybe I'm too hard on myself. Nah not really I knew I needed to leave this school. It's supposed to be accelerated but it is all over the place. No real structure. No focal points and you cannot retain any of the info I later learned the pass rate is 64% for NCLEX. Because they promote different rates for other campuses. So that's my fault for not doing my due diligence. I still speak to my classmates and have learned they're still struggling and every time they bring it to the schools attention it's being turned back on the student. TBH they need to address the school about these issues it's unacceptable. The school has messaged my old school mates and u have copies making it like they're not applying themselves 20 something people having the same experience it may be the school and not the students. The actual campus is not up to standards either. The classrooms need new paint, the "clinic" rooms have broken mannequins, the beds are so old from like the 90's you have to raise them with the handle. They only had one sink that was broken for handwashing and they told us to keep our gloves and gowns as we were not getting any new ones and would need to use them for the term. My gloves ripped and I was told I had to still use them. I have still been respectful in leaving this school to their staff since I do have unfinished business with financial aid and so forth. I loaded a comment about the teacher being absent due to her child's senior night. Which brings me to the next REASON I left. Staff can miss days without consequences however they make it crystal clear if you miss days you need to make it up. There seems to be no accountability at the school and policies work against the students and not the staff. Now leaving the school I have went back to return books I'm a grown adult who don't hold grudges. I didn't bad mouth them in the full lobby of potential students I just returned my things and left. The pass rate is 64% for a reason, the classmates are complaining for a reason. They think the school is going to try to fail them to get an additional 10k and tbh that might just happen. There's a lot of unsettling behavior going on. . The school needs to do better. Find you another school there's plenty out there that are equipped to make you the best nurse

Not worth to go to this school. Only 50% of the students get a job. And its hard to sit for ARDMS exams unless go through different method.

I'm currently taking classes for my BSN but decided I wanted to be certified as a CNA so I could work and get hands on experience while studying. This was the closest school to my home and after checking the CDPH website to make sure they were licensed, I called and took a meeting with Estela Gregory the owner and manager of the school. I was only able to do a weekday course due to my parenting schedule. Their website offers weekday classes and Estela confirmed this in our emails and during our in-person meeting where she requested I pay the full cost of the course, $2500, upfront. I knew the cost of the course was higher than others in LA, but it was the closest to my home and offered the hours I needed. She agreed to let me pay $500 for the uniform and textbooks and we agreed I would pay the reminder on the first day of classes. This was in the middle of June and she said the class would start at the start of July. She didn't have an exact start date and said she would get back to me. She would only allow me to pay the fees on cash or via Zelle as she said she was having an issue with her bank POS and wasn't able to accept payments via credit card. She gave me a hand written receipt and said she would be in touch with the start date. There were a few red flags during this meeting, but I could tell from the amount of materials in her office and separate "classroom" that she had had a large school at one time and she had moved to smaller offices at some point. I had also checked beforehand that she was actually licensed and this made me ignore the warning signs that were going off in my brain. I should have listened to my gut. I waited two weeks and still hadn't heard anything from her. I emailed her a few days before the start of July and got no response. I went to her office but each time it was closed and she was not there since it's a month to month rental and it's only her, she goes in when she needs to. A week into July it became clear that she had no intention of contacting me and I let her know via email multiple times that if I didn't hear from her that I would be reporting her to the BBB, CDPH, and taking her to small claims court. She ignored all my communications until she got the notification from the BBB (which she ignored). She finally called to say that she had been locked out of her emails and she is lost the "PIN". Not only did that not make sense, but it didn't explain the ignored calls and post it notes on her office door. She tried to act like nothing was happening and said she was ordering my textbooks and uniform. I demanded a refund for the money I had given her since it was clear there was no class to be paying for in the first place. She said she would need to speak to her supervisor and get back to me. I said on all the documents and website pages it states she is the owner and CEO, so she has no supervisor. Additionally, the bank account I sent the payment to had only her name on it so legally the money went to her and I would like it back. She said she would call me back and hung up. We did this a few times over the month of July and each time she has said she would send me a payment, but I have still not received anything. I have reported her to CDPH so they can review the issue and hopefully revoke her license so she can't do this to anyone else. I am in the process of small claims court and my ultimate goal is to let others know what happened to me so it doesn't happen to them. Estela Gregory is not an honest person and will flat out steal your money. The audacity that she asked for the whole $2500 upfront....I have since seen one review from another person that says she has done the same to them. DO NOT GIVE THIS WOMAN ANY OF YOUR MONEY! Hope this helps someone.

The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.

We have a student counselor. They are introduced to you at NEW Student Orientation 2. If you need ADA accommodations, please see the office of education for additional information. 3. For the longest time, nursing school lived in the same category as "I'll get to it eventually."…read moreEventually turned into 6-7 years of postponing, doubting myself, and wondering if I was really cut out for it. Ironically, what finally pushed me to take the leap was watching a coworker graduate from West Coast University. Did she vent about the program being stressful? Absolutely. Did she ever have a bad thing to say about the professors or staff? Not once. That spoke volumes. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy. Caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives isn't easy, so why should the preparation be? Hearing about the challenges didn't discourage me, it reassured me that the program was doing exactly what it was meant to do. So, after attending an information session for the second time in two years, I finally decided to stop flirting with the idea of nursing school and commit. What stood out to me immediately was the transparency! From day one, everything was laid out clearly: what was required for admission, what resources were available, and what steps needed to be taken to succeed. There were no surprises, no sugarcoating, just straightforward guidance and support. Then began the adventure of getting all my "stuff" together. I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to David Gallardo, who is low-key one of the biggest reasons my application was completed at all. During the application process, I was navigating some personal challenges while helping care for my mother. Throughout it all, David remained patient, encouraging, and consistently supportive. More importantly, he always started our conversations by asking how I was doing, not just where I was in the application process. That may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot. His kindness and reassurance gave me confidence when mine was running low. If first impressions truly matter, David was the perfect first impression of West Coast University. Now, as I prepare to begin this journey, I won't pretend I'm not nervous. I have moments where I wonder whether I have what it takes. But I also know that West Coast University has already shown me that support, resources, and dedicated advisors are available every step of the way. At that point, the responsibility shifts to me to use those resources and keep moving forward. So here I am, equal parts anxious and determined, looking forward to the long study sessions, sleepless nights, and study-group marathons. Two years from now, I plan to walk across that stage knowing that earning my degree wasn't easy, but it was worth it. And when that day comes, I'll happily become an unofficial ambassador for West Coast University, completely pro bono lol. If I can help encourage even one person who has been sitting on the fence the way I did for 6-7 years, wondering whether they're capable or whether the timing is ever going to be right, then I'll gladly share my experience. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else take the leap to realize you can do it too. For now, though, it's time to get to work. See y'all in two years! GM.

It is all fairly warned and the staff all do their best to ensure you are well supported. This review is going out to anyone who is curious about what happens after you pass both Exit Exam and NXLEX and the support given by the career advisor. During the last term I was paired with Alla Kostanyan, right away she reached out to make an effort to meet me and get to know what my goals were post WCU. She also kept it real and helped me see the many routes a new grad nurse can possibly take. Right away she began to make sure my resume looked good and was ready. I received several emails with all sorts of job openings ahead of time so that I may plan to apply accordingly. In my case particularly, before starting west coast I decided to apply at my local hospital as a patient safety aide, just to see if this is a place I would like to work at after graduation. Well, I loved it there and that gave me a shoe in as I navigated a job there during my time in school. I also stayed proactive and during my first term at WCU I signed up to volunteer at Cedars Sinai (another place I wanted to potentially work at). So you see in my case I did myself a favor beforehand. Which worked out greatly since I was able to build good rapport with both locations for the almost 3 years of school. I put in my work to achieve getting hired at my local hospital and I was able to receive a job offer. Overall , Alla made sure that I place my eggs in several baskets and made the application process easy. It's tough out there as a new grad and it can feel discouraging at times but don't give up because unlike me there are so many successful students whom don't think of a job until after graduation and eventually get hired do to the collective effort one's career advisor provides and the work the student puts in.
