As my cavities worsened, I stumbled onto Bellingham Bay Dental's friendly website and after reading a few reviews elsewhere, it was clear that this was the perfect Dentist to switch to. It ended up being the perfect switch, reminding me how pleasant a dental visit can be with the right staff. While my previous dentist rushed and scolded me for being nervous, the staff here took their time and constantly made sure I was comfortable. They made up a plan for the work I needed and took extra measures to make sure my family and I understood it, and they have been amazingly patient about me needing to reschedule appointments to make sure our insurance can cover everything. I highly recommend them to anyone, especially if you're nervous about seeing the dentist! The only downside is they wont be preferred providers with Washington Dental Insurance after this summer but they are more than worth the extra money.

I was assured that because they were directly contracted with my insurance there would be no issues. I was told everything was going to be covered for my first appointment. When I went in for my second appointment a different person at the front desk told me they had made a mistake and none of it was going to be covered. They didn't even get my signature on the faulty quote. I am now being charged over 10X as much as they quoted me. I complained, and there response sounding like they didn't even read my complaint. They said they 'reviewed my x-rays' and would be unable to reimburse me. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and still, they did not address my concerns in any way. This company took advantage of me while I was in pain and needed care. They do not value costumer satisfaction, provided terrible service, and have handled this completely unethically. We only planned to be here a week so we called ahead from Seattle to get an appointment. They coordinated with my dentist in California. They explained a treatment plan and gave me an estimate at my first visit. Not only did they work me into their schedule but they scheduled the work for the same afternoon. I was so impressed with the entire staff, very courteous, very friendly and yet very professional. While it wasn't cheap my tooth was a mess-- I only had a half a tooth and a gaping hole. They numbed me up real good so there was a minimum discomfort. All in all, a very positive experience. I absolutely recommend them.

I saw Faith Bult for some dental work back in 2006. They put in a filling that ended up not staying…read morein. When I went back to get it redone, the assistant started drilling on my tooth before the novacain set in even though I had told them my body is extra sensitive and needs more time than most people for it to set in. She drilled right on the nerve (I didn't realize she was going to start drilling so I couldn't say no in advance), and it was the worst pain I've ever felt. It was horrible. I saw blazing light and my feet flew up over my head. They let the novocain set in after that and finished the filling. But the new filling ended up not staying put either, it rocked back and forth. I called it quits then (I should have after the first filling), and went to another dentist who, upon looking at my tooth, asked me where I had gotten the work done. When I told her, she said, "Ah yes. We've seen many of her patients over the years. I'm sorry you experienced that." They couldn't put another filling in because Bult had drilled so much/wide that there wasn't room, so I ended up needing a crown. I've experienced ongoing pain from that initial appointment for 20 years and will likely need a root canal soon. I feel clear that if the initial cavity was filled correctly jt wouldn't be in pain (I've had other cavities filled without any problems). Bult never replied to my feedback, and never owned up to the mistakes of either filling or the drilling without novocain. I simply advise you to go elsewhere.

I was given gas but not put under. I became very silly and wanted to have a full on conversation with both of them as they were trying to pull my teeth. Perhaps it was that, or perhaps it was just because my teeth were impacted but...unfortunately three of my teeth were cracked in the process. I didn't feel terribly supported by the staff, I wish they had been a little more clear with me about what was going to happen and what they needed from me during the procedure. And it would have been nice for them to try to distract me, understandably they were focused on the procedure but I do feel like their bedside manner could have been better. They also dismissed my concerns when I told them my teeth were cracked. I have a lot of trauma from that visit. I would never go back here again or suggest that anyone go here. But again, everyone's dental care is different. So just take my experience with a grain of salt, I'm not saying it would be the same for you - just sharing what happened to me.
