Asha has been doing our taxes for a few years. When we first started working with her, she was very…read moreprompt and filled our taxes on time. However the past 2 years has been a nightmare working with her. First she wouldn't file taxes on time. She wouldn't respond to any of our emails/calls and let us know literally few days before deadline that she is delayed. She also would want us to follow up with IRS to seek extension. Last year, despite filling the returns late, she filed incorrectly. This led to IRS sending us a bill of close to $10k. Owing several thousands of dollars around August was quite frustrating to plan and budget in the middle of a year. Neither did she apologize for her mistake nor did she offer to pay for penalties. We had to pay more for her to refile. It was a terrible experience to follow up several times before she would respond. After about 30 emails she said she'd take care of refilling. However, around mid December she said she's going on a vacation and that she couldn't reach IRS for an extension. Had she told us before, we would have tried to reach IRS! We were left scrambling trying to reach a government office in the later part of December! Finally it was well past new year (Jan) when we were able to refile our returns for the previous year! Overall, it was a tiresome experience and absolutely don't recommend! This year, after following up several times, she responded today saying her software isn't working and that we should be seeking an extension from IRS. I'm super pissed to say the least. I spoke to a few of my friends and they have similar stories to share. So, I along with all the friends I have referred are in the process of finding a new tax consultant.
