    Yum! Banana Split for 2

Small shop back off the road, you need to watch for it. One window, a covered area with a bench and a picnic table, plus an umbrella table outside the covered area. Very friendly, accommodating and wonderful treats. Young girl at the window with a jar sitting near - not a tip jar but a college fund jar! So we were happy to tip and contribute. We stopped here a couple days on the way back to our resort. Once we got our ice cream and we're about to leave when a monsoon rain broke out. We just sat down and enjoyed our treats and waited about 30 minutes for the rain to slack off some. Finally made a dash for the car and wouldn't you know it - a mile down the road the rain stopped! Nice place, check it out!

Heading there today in downtown Timberville Va. Best frozen custard. Getting Peeled shrimp from Rhodes Seafood next door. Two great places.

My latte was a little too sweet, but just so tasty that I truly didn't care. It was like a sugar cookie. Really good. This place is full of history and boasts a beautiful big fireplace. It's got really great hardwood floors also. It's a fairly comfortable, quaint cafe. Would recommend.

My Hubby and I ordered the hot hamburger platter. It was served with mashed potatoes ( next time I'll get fries), while he opted for fresh steamed broccoli, I got the cole slaw. Our meal was served timely, hot and delicious. The beef was hand made paddies and from local area butchers. The next time we go I'll try a hamburger on a bun. The pricing was what I expected to pay, not out of alignment with similar places. The service was friendly and seems more of a close knit family place. The iced tea was refreshing, not too sweet. We'll go back again, it is worth the 1 1/2 hr drive.

The good: Place was clean and good service (drink refills)…read more The bad: The server got my wife's first order wrong and argued about it. She ordered chicken, not beef for the cheese steak sandwich. The ugly: First order of fries were burnt as was the beef in the first sandwich. My roast beef sandwich was cooked well done thus tough and dry. The bread was store bought or equivalent like Wonder Bread or something. Even worse was the cherry pie. It was served in a pile as if someone dropped it or something. "Field to Fork" means fresh food. Three skimpy specks of chili pepper in a cheese steak sandwich is crazy. Wonder bread? So the sign was misleading. Perhaps just a bad day for them? The menu looked good, only if the could execute. I'll pass on recommending.
