I have noticed that if you write some bad truth about this place, it will mysteriously disappear from this Yelp page and be hidden in the "not recommended" section which is below all the visible reviews. This makes me wonder how many of the good reviews here are real. After all, anyone can tell their friends to write something glorious about their own place. But, I am an actual patient of this place, and I know the truth and I will speak about it. Here it goes:
I would not recommend this place to anyone. My experience there has been kind of a nightmare so far.
1. Even though they are charging about $1000 for a crown and the cost for them to get it made in America is only about $200, apparently it's not enough of a margin for them, so they send all their impressions to a lab in Korea to get all their crowns and abutments made there! And the turn around time is about four weeks!If the crown doesn't fit right, guess what? It's another four weeks that you will have to wait to make any adjustment! When I finally received my crown after four weeks, I realized that it wasn't made right and food kept getting packed between my teeth. They said they had to mail it back to Korea and I would have to wait another four weeks. Another four weeks later, when the crown finally came back again, I guess the lab baked it for too long in the oven after adding more porcelain to it, the crown became a very strange grey color. The office basically hoped that I will just accept it as is, and I almost did that because of all the exhausting waiting time. But in the end, I decided that I had to stay true to myself and ask them to correct the color. And that's when the even bigger nightmare happened! Seven weeks later (note that now it has been a total of almost four months of pure waiting time not counting the time when I was out of town), when I never got a call from their office informing about the status of the crown, I called them to inquire about it, only to find out that they didn't even know if the crown has ever been sent to Korea or not, and they can't find it anywhere in their office!! So as I'm writing this review, my gum is inflamed with the ill fitted temporary crown that I have been wearing for the past seven weeks, with their office having no idea where to even locate the crown that they were supposed to send to their Korean lab! If I knew that they would put their patient through all this pain and suffering of waiting and wearing an unfitted temporary crown, so that they can make a bigger profit than using an American lab, I would have never started my implant work there! No one at their office has ever disclosed this part of their practice to me. I only found it out when it was way too late to switch doctor.
2. With such a long time that any patient has to wait to have his/her crown made, their dental assistant still wants to skip the very basic work - she asked me, "Can you just eat without me having to make a temporary crown for you while you wait for your crown to be adjusted in Korea?" We are talking about four weeks of waiting time, and this is a tooth that is in the front part of my mouth! Needless to say, I was totally shocked that she would even suggest for me to look ridiculous, and chew on the abutment without a crown for four weeks! I don't know of any other dental office that would tell their patients to skip wearing a temporary crown so that they don't have to make it...
3. A dental assistant is not supposed to use a high speed drill and drill on any tooth/crown that is inside a patient's mouth. But here, all the rules don't apply. When the temporary crown was finally made and cemented in my mouth by the reluctant assistant, she picked up the drill and wanted to start to drill on the crown in my mouth! I got concerned and asked for the doctor to come out to continue. Both she and the doctor did not appear to be too happy about it, totally made me feel that I was asking for something unreasonable...
4. When they make adjustment on a crown, whether it's a temporary one or permanent one, it always feels really rough on the drilled surfaces and you can see the relatively sharp edges. When I asked if they could smooth them more, the doctor's answer was that they don't have any polishing bur! Sigh...
5. While most of the dental offices these days use the high quality German made dental implants, this office doesn't.
Looking back, I have to say that I would not recommend this office to anyone. A dental implant and crown is something that you will have to wear for many years, go to a regular place that at least make their crowns and abutments in America; and at least obeys basic dental practice rules and regulations; and would at least make you a temporary crown while you wait for your permanent crown; and, owns a polishing bur. This place definitely is not worth all the waiting, pain and suffer, plus, the exhausting long drive for every little thing you need at their office. read more
