I was told that they weren't willing to put another permanent retainer on, and the reasoning seemed sound, so that's fine. They said the plastic, removable, night-time retainers would be $390... I said that's not something I would be interested in because of the price, and they shrugged their shoulders and said "Alright." I don't have experience with the removal process for a permanent retainer, but it was INCREDIBLY painful. I felt like the person performing it was being much rougher than was necessary. When that was done and I went to the front desk, the woman there asked ME how much I was told the removal would cost... I said I didn't know. Then she started talking about the ~$400 cost for the plastic retainers before I politely told her that I had chosen not to purchase those. She then asked me TWICE more if anyone had been able to tell me how much the removal would cost... I was incredibly confused- how should a patient know the exact cost of a procedure better than the staff handling accounting and charges? I walked out dumbstruck and confused.

I contacted Whitney Orthodontics and although I had to wait a couple of months for my first appointment (due to the holidays), it was 100% worth the wait. The staff was incredibly friendly, organized and efficient. I was provided cost estimates upfront which were accurate and a huge help to be able to plan financially. They were able to take imaging of my teeth and send the images to a lab to have my retainers made. Two weeks later, I was back in the office to receive them, along with a mold of my teeth to keep should I need retainers made again. I also inquired about Invisalign during my follow up visit to fix one tooth that is beginning to rotate. Within 2 hours, the team had a treatment plan and cost estimate put together for me to review and decide if I'd like to move forward. Excellent service. Highly recommend!

We received that quote both verbally and in writing, and the amount was paid through financing. After the process began, the office attempted to add additional charges of approximately $2,000 more. This was extremely confusing because we already had a written quote for the full treatment plan. When we asked for clarification, we did not receive a clear explanation. While there are some staff members in the office who were kind and professional, our interactions with management were very disappointing. Instead of working toward a reasonable resolution, the situation escalated unnecessarily. I am sharing this experience so others--especially families helping elderly parents--pay very close attention to written treatment plans, quotes, and financing agreements before proceeding.
